Suzhou·Banyan Tree Shishan, a hotel embodying the aesthetics of Suzhou in the ancient city of Gusu

Suzhou High-tech Zone, Hufu District, Fenhu Road Not long ago, Suzhou welcomed its first Banyan Tree hotel, uniquely located not in the bustling tourist area of Pingjiang Road nor by the hotel-laden Jinji Lake, but nestled in the western part of Suzhou, within Shishan. Its advantageous geographical position perfectly interprets the lifestyle concept of 'entering the bustling city, returning to tranquility.' In this urban oasis, it offers Suzhou a unique prologue. The hotel's architecture was designed by GOA Elephant Design Studio. The entrance design is simple yet stylish, with a central island composed of pine trees and water features that not only guide traffic but also modernly interpret the traditional garden art of Suzhou. The interior design was meticulously crafted by the HBA Singapore team, drawing inspiration from the romantic elements of Chinese garden architecture, particularly the boat-shaped pavilions, which became the source of inspiration for the hotel's design. The hotel features a restaurant and a lobby lounge, located on either side of the lobby and connected by a long corridor. One side of the corridor is decorated with lattice walls, allowing sunlight to filter through and create dappled shadows, forming a beautiful path leading to the restaurant. The Baiyun Restaurant specializes in Cantonese cuisine, with a primary color scheme of natural wood, complemented by light green and lake blue tones. It offers outdoor seating with a direct view of Shishan, exuding the charm of Jiangnan.
