A Journey Through History and Modernity

Day 1: A Time Travel at the National Museum of Taiwan History In the early morning, I set off from downtown Taipei, taking the MRT and bus all the way to the National Museum of Taiwan History in Tainan. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a blend of modern and traditional architectural design. The museum is divided into sections that showcase Taiwan's evolution from the indigenous era to modern times. Indigenous handicrafts, relics left by the Dutch East India Company, and old photos from the Japanese colonial period make one feel as if they are traveling through time, experiencing the depth and warmth of history. In the afternoon, I strolled through the museum's outdoor garden, admiring the landscaping inspired by Taiwan's natural scenery, which was tranquil and full of artistic conception. In the evening, I returned to Taipei and indulged in the vibrant atmosphere of Ningxia Night Market, experiencing the energy of modern Taipei. Day 2: A Diverse Experience of Urban and Cultural Life The next morning, I visited the National Palace Museum to admire precious ancient artifacts such as the Jadeite Cabbage and the Mao Gong Ding, deeply feeling the profoundness of Chinese culture. In the afternoon, I headed to Huashan 1914 Creative Park, where I felt the tension and innovation of modern culture through creative exhibitions and artistic shops. At dusk, I watched the sunset at Dadaocheng Wharf, with the brilliant glow reflecting on the Tamsui River, marking a perfect end to the trip. In just two days, the fusion of history and modernity, tradition and innovation, outlines the diversity and charm of Taipei.
