Tawau is the third largest city in Sabah, Malaysia, and the capital of Tawau Province. It is located on the southeast coast of Sabah, on the northeast coast of the mouth of Cowie Bay in the Sulawesi Sea. Its geographical location is 4.233°N, 117.833°E.
