Jiuxiang Scenic Area, Kunming.

Jiuxiang Scenic Area is located in Jiuxiang Yi and Hui Ethnic Township, Yiliang County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It is 90 kilometers away from Kunming and 47 kilometers away from Yiliang County. It has typical karst geological wonders such as multi-layer karst caves, fissure canyons, sinkholes, cave waterfalls, side stone dams, and plateau lakes. Famous attractions include: Diecui Gorge (P1, P2), Jinhun Gorge (P3, P4, P5), and Shennv Palace (P6, P7, P8). There are various stalactites, stalagmites, and stone pillars in the Shennv Palace, which are of different shapes. Under the colorful lights, they are even more beautiful, like a fairyland on earth. Male and Female Waterfalls (P10): The water of the Mai River flows quickly in the underground karst cave. When the river water rushes into the Wolong Cave, it is split into two by the towering boulders in the river channel and falls into the bottom of the gully, forming these two huge dark river waterfalls. The drop of the male and female waterfalls is about 30 meters, and the pool is more than 10 meters deep. Shen Tian (P11, 12): This kind of "field" shape is very similar to the terraces we often see. The geological name is side stone dam. The scale here is huge. Underground Stone Forest (Bat Cave, P13, 14) The Bat Cave is named after tens of thousands of bats living in the cave before development. Later, due to the light and tourists, most of the bats have flown to other nearby caves. The unique landscape in the Bat Cave is called "Wind Blowing Stone Bend". Due to the dripping water from the stalactites on the top of the cave, it gradually condenses due to the strong airflow, and over time, it forms a side-by-side shape. Due to its large scale, it forms a stone forest landscape, which looks like a stone forest hanging upside down on the top of the cave. Zhangkou Cave Ancient Human Habitation Site (P16).
