Meet the Old Immortal at Yiliang Wanfusi Temple

Yiliang Wanfusi Temple is located on Yongjin Mountain in Tangchi, Yiliang, Yunnan. It is said that the temple is named after the 10,000 Buddha statues enshrined in the temple. The exact date of the temple's construction is unknown. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Yang Shen, the top of the three talented scholars of the Ming Dynasty who was exiled to Yunnan, wrote a poem "Wanfusi Temple", which shows that Wanfusi Temple was already famous at that time. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Yuan Jiagu, the top scholar of the economic special subject, wrote a stele "Supreme Bodhi" in Wanfusi Temple, adding more cultural attractions to the temple. In modern times, Wanfusi Temple was converted into a school, and later became a dangerous building, and the temple was closed. Later, experts discovered that Yongjin Mountain was a cultural site of the Neolithic Age, and a large number of cultural relics were unearthed. As a result, Wanfusi Temple was restored and reopened, becoming a center for Buddhist activities. It is said that there is a magical treasure in the main hall of Wanfusi Temple - the Wind Avoidance Pearl. No matter how windy or rainy it is, pilgrims in the hall will feel warm; the temple is full of pilgrims, but the candles do not flicker, and the oil lamps do not go out. Perhaps it is the Wind Avoidance Pearl that is blessing Wanfusi Temple. We cannot see the Wind Avoidance Pearl. However, at Wanfusi Temple, we met the Old Immortal. The Old Immortal has kind eyes and a kind face, meditating quietly, and in the bright sunshine, he is a Buddha of Wanfusi Temple.
