Trip to Frankfurt 🇩🇪
It was a trip to Frankfurt, Germany. On the first day, we visited Römerberg. It is the historic heart of Frankfurt, featuring medieval buildings reconstructed post-WWII. The square has been the site of markets, fairs, and events for centuries.
📍Römerberg 27, 60311 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
We then explored the St. Bartholomew's Cathedral (Kaiserdom). This Gothic-style cathedral, known as Kaiserdom, was the coronation site for Holy Roman Emperors.
📍Domplatz 1, 60311 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
P/S: Just to recommend one of my favorite restaurant, Apfelwein Wagner. We ordered the "Frankfurter Schnitzel" with green sauce, a local specialty. Which was really good and we all love it 😍
💰Around €15-20
📍Schweizer Str. 71, 60594 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
We also explored the Goethe House and Museum. The birthplace of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Germany’s most famous writer. The house is restored to reflect 18th-century life, which we find it very interesting.
📍Großer Hirschgraben 23-25, 60311 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
We then walked around the Paulskirche (St. Paul's Church). It is known for being the seat of the first democratically elected parliament in 1848.
📍Paulsplatz 11, 60311 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
We also explored around Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Börse). It is one of the world's largest stock exchanges, established in 1585.
📍Börsenpl. 4, 60313 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Then we headed to Alte Oper (Old Opera House), which was opened in 1880, destroyed in WWII, and rebuilt as a concert hall.
📍Opernplatz 1, 60313 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
We also visited Main Tower, a 200-meter skyscraper offering an observation deck with panoramic views of the city.
📍Neue Mainzer Str. 52-58, 60311 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
But the most interesting one will be Museumsufer (Museum Embankment). A cluster of museums along the River Main, including the Städel Museum, one of Germany's most important art museums. We just love museum and art 🫶🫶🫶
📍Schaumainkai, 60594 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
My mom suggested us to visit Palmengarten. It was established in 1871, this botanical garden is a peaceful retreat with diverse plant species.🪴🪴🪴
