Subiaco, Italy
The town of Subiaco is located in the eastern Lazio region of central Italy, at the head of the Aniene valley, close to a hill about 400 meters above sea level, and across the slopes of the Simbruini mountains.
The medieval town, built on a rocky cliff, looks over the entire valley of the Aniene, where we find the Benedictine monasteries of the 'Sacro Speco' and 'St. Scholastica', the principal attractions of a visit.
At the entrance to Subiaco is the medieval bridge of S. Francesco, built by Abbot Adhemar in 1358 and with a single span reaching almost 40 metres. The tower at the end of the bridge historically controlled access to the city.
Across the river Aniene is the Church of S. Francis dating back to 1327 and built in the Romanesque-Gothic style. The interior of the church has a single nave covered by a trussed roof, with a great triumphal arch and a square choir.
Be sure to enter the church which contains frescoes of considerable importance, such as those by Giovanni Antonio Bazzi, called "Il Sodoma" (1477-1549), who painted a cycle of frescoes depicting the life of Mary, which concludes with the Passion of Christ.
In the church vault are paintings of the Evangelists and Christ the Redeemer while below there are some scenes in the ancient relief style and two pilasters with grotesques.
On the top of the hill above Subiaco we find the Rock abbey, which was a fortress and residence of the Popes and still dominates the town below.
The typical medieval district in Subiaco extends as far as the slopes of the Rock, with places of interest including the Church of St. Peter, with the Romanesque bell tower and the church of Our Lady of the Cross, with a single nave, oblong windows with pointed arches, and containing 14th century frescoes.
In the lower part of the town, on the left side of the river Aniene, is the church of St. Lorenzo, which according to tradition is the oldest in Subiaco.

Lazio: Finding My Roman Charm Under the Blue Sky and White Clouds
Arriving in Lazio, I didn't feel the hustle and bustle of Rome. Instead, there was a tranquil and soothing atmosphere, a leisurely vibe different from the central area of Rome. Lazio, the land surrounding Rome, has a completely different appearance. It embraces Rome like a gentle mother, and also those tourists who long to escape the urban jungle.
My journey in Lazio began with Ostia Antica. This ancient Roman port city, buried under sand, lies quietly on the outskirts of Rome, waiting for people to uncover its history and stories. Walking through the ruins, I felt as if I had traveled back in time to the prosperous Roman Empire. Among the remnants, one can still faintly see the bustling scenes of merchants and ships. Imagining the ancient Romans living, working, and trading here, a sense of historical weight emerged, evoking deep respect. The sunlight cast mottled shadows on the ancient columns, adding a touch of mystery. Ostia Antica is not just an ancient city but a living history book.
Leaving Ostia Antica, I drove to Civitavecchia. This port city is the gateway to many beautiful islands and an important transportation hub in the Lazio region. Here, I felt the Mediterranean sun and sea breeze, with a lazy and comfortable atmosphere pervading the air. I strolled along the port, watching ships come and go, feeling the vastness and mystery of the ocean. At dusk, the setting sun dyed the sky a golden red, breathtakingly beautiful. At a restaurant by the port, I enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner, with fresh seafood and Mediterranean spices, the taste was incredibly delicious.
The next day, I headed to the Etruria region. This ancient land was once the center of the Etruscan civilization, leaving many precious relics. I visited the Etruscan tombs in Tarquinia, where the walls are adorned with exquisite murals vividly depicting the life and beliefs of the Etruscans. These murals are not just artworks but valuable historical materials showcasing the glory of the Etruscan civilization. In Tarquinia, I felt a cultural atmosphere completely different from Roman civilization, an ancient and mysterious aura.
Returning to the vicinity of Rome from the Etruria region, I chose to visit Tivoli. Tivoli is famous for its beautiful villas, the most famous being Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este. Villa Adriana, the private villa of Emperor Hadrian, is grand in scale and exquisite in architecture, a marvel of ancient construction. Walking through the villa's gardens, I felt as if I had returned to the prosperous Roman Empire, experiencing the emperor's luxury and power. Villa d'Este is renowned for its beautiful gardens, with fountains and lush greenery, creating a pleasant scenery. Here, I felt a tranquil and comfortable atmosphere, an escape from the urban hustle.
In Lazio, I also visited many other attractions, such as Casina Valadier and Villa Aldobrandini. These villas are not only architecturally exquisite but also scenically beautiful, important cultural heritage of the Lazio region. In these villas, I felt a strong artistic atmosphere, a pursuit and yearning for beauty.
Lazio not only has rich historical and cultural heritage but also beautiful natural scenery. I strolled through the countryside of Lazio, feeling the tranquility and beauty of nature. The fresh air, bright sunshine, and green fields made me feel relaxed and happy. In Lazio, I experienced the charm of a slow life, a leisurely and carefree lifestyle.
Before leaving Lazio, I returned to Ostia Antica, watching the sunset dye the sky golden red. Reflecting on my experiences in Lazio over the past few days, my heart was filled with emotion. Lazio, this beautiful land, deeply attracted me with its unique charm. It is not as bustling as Rome, nor as prosperous as other cities, but it has a unique tranquility and beauty. It embraces Rome like a gentle mother, and also those who long for peace. I fell in love with this land, its tranquility, its beauty, and its authenticity. I am sure I will return here again to experience the unique charm of this land. Goodbye, Lazio!
During my journey in Lazio, I also tasted many local specialties, such as grilled skewers and fresh seafood. These dishes were not only delicious but also affordable, a great way to experience the local culture. I also met some locals who were warm and hospitable, making me feel the friendliness and kindness of Italians. In Lazio, I felt a different pace of life from Rome, a more leisurely and carefree lifestyle. It is a slow life, a way of living close to nature, allowing me to relax and unwind completely. Lazio is a land worth savoring, where you can feel the sediment of history and the depth of culture, as well as the tranquility and beauty of nature. I am sure I will return here again to experience the unique charm of this land. Goodbye, Lazio!
Akihabara, Tokyo - It's bright neon signs are alluring for photographers, its narrow noodle shops, pubs, eateries and restaurants are perfect for foodies, its numerous karaoke rooms, parlours, bowling alleys, cinemas attract those looking to party the night away. It's even a haven for manga fans.
Known as the "Eternal City", Rome, Italy, has an extremely rich historical and cultural heritage, with churches, classical fountains, obelisks and ancient ruins. Strolling through the streets of the ancient city, from the Piazza Venezia to the Roman Forum, from the Colosseum to the Plaza de Espaa, Castel Sant'Angelo, the scenery is everywhere, full of endless charm, of course, the Italian handsome niece everywhere!
Rome is the capital and largest city of Italy. The birthplace of the ancient Roman Empire is an "eternal city." He has a glorious history, the glory of the Roman Empire, and the supremacy of the Catholic Church constitute the glory of Rome for nearly 2,500 years. The highest achievement of Roman art is reflected in countless public buildings. They built large-scale roads, waterways, bridges, squares, public baths and other facilities. The earliest Roman architectural art came from Greece.
My trip to Rome is a violent walk. I said that the Italian man has a lot of lethality. I also wondered if I met a gentleman like a Parker in the alley. A legendary trip, those handsome guys on the street, all Into the camera, Roman holiday, nothing to do with the wind.
Rome is a city full of ruins and ruins. The legendary buildings left by the ancient Roman civilization have led countless people to come here.
The Colosseum, as the most famous architectural monument in the world, can feel the glory of the year from every angle.
In Rome, even on the streets of every town in Italy, you can see scattered ancient Roman ruins everywhere, except for the world-famous Colosseum, the Roman ruins next to it are the most famous in Rome. One of the tourist attractions. It once represented the glory of the Roman Empire and is the central area of the construction of the ancient Roman imperial city. We often say that all roads lead to Rome means that all the avenues in the Roman city were scattered with the ancient Roman ruins. . Like our ancient Chinese civilization, the Romans at the time also believed that Rome was the center of the world.
The Pantheon is the only preserved Roman Empire architecture to date, and is a jewel in the history of ancient Roman architecture. The most distinctive feature is the ancient Greek-style triangular threshold at the entrance and the symmetrical huge marble column. .
The ancient Roman ruins
was once the economic and political center of the ancient Roman Empire. It has a history of more than 2,000 years, and now it is green and green, but it is only in ruins. The ruins contain temples, triumphal arches, and old-age buildings. Although it is difficult to reminiscent of the glory of the past, in the sun, the ruins are quiet and shining with golden light, which is like a scene in a comic book.
[Into the tour package for 12 euros.
The ruins of the ancient Roman city are very close and can be reached on foot.
When traveling to Rome, be sure to take a walk in the old town. The smile of Rome, the excitement of Rome. Medieval mass, silhouette silhouette of the sculpture. Heavy and revival, tears and laughter, stones and flowers, silence and radiance, these classic elements are too easy to find in walking.
I like to walk on the streets of Rome because of the phrase "all roads lead to Rome." Recalling that it spanned three continents in Asia and Europe, Egypt, an ancient civilization in Africa, once surrendered to it. Its connection with the Chinese Han and Tang dynasties was also frequently found in the records. These are all thanks to the transportation of ancient Rome and the embrace of exotic culture. One of the treasures that this history brought to Rome was the Egyptian obelisk, which was distributed throughout the Old City.
Architecture and sculpture are the most loyal narrators of history, regardless of what their builders originally wanted to express, only the construction behaviors that these people made during their implementation and the motives behind them, leaving future generations with delusions. . This, when we stand under the Arc de Triomphe of Constantine I in Rome today, it will be particularly obvious.
That year, Napoleon came to Rome and saw the Arc de Triomphe. He greatly appreciated it, and later used it as a blueprint to create the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Therefore, although the Arch of Constantine was the oldest building in the three Arc de Triomphe in Rome, the shadow of the early Roman art can still be seen, and the preservation is relatively good and worth seeing.
From the Colosseum to the Arch of Constantine, we can take care of these two ancient buildings at a glance. You can take them into the same frame. But these two magnificent buildings, left to us, are endless thinking.
Rome, an ancient name, is known as the "city of the city" because of its glorious history, the glory of the Roman Empire, and the supremacy of the Catholic Church constitute the glory of Rome for nearly 2,500 years.
Rome is one of the birthplaces of world culture. It has deposited thousands of years of historical sites and has a rich cultural heritage. It was built on seven hills between the Taipo River and was revived after several destructions. The ancient Roman ruins are large in scale, and they are imaginative and lingering.
The ancient city of Rome is like a giant open-air historical museum. Every step is stepped on countless historical stories. On the ruins of the ancient capital of Rome, the world famous temples such as the Imperial Senate, the Arc de Triomphe, the Jigongzhu, the Pantheon and the Grand Arena are standing. Historic sites; there are many fine architecture and fine art from the Renaissance.
