It was a short weekend getaway to Lyon, France. We began our day with a visit to the Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière, perched atop a hill overlooking the city. The basilica's stunning architecture, with its mix of Gothic and Byzantine styles, took our breath away. It felt like stepping back in time as we stumbled upon quaint boutiques and hidden courtyards 🙌🙌🙌 In the afternoon, we visited the Musée des Confluences, a fascinating science and anthropology museum located at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers. We explored the diverse exhibits, from dinosaur skeletons to cultural artifacts, and learned so much about the world’s natural and human history. We loved wandering around the beautiful rose gardens 🌹 , visiting the free zoo, and even renting a paddleboat on the lake. We started our visit in the old town, Vieux Lyon, with its narrow, winding streets and Renaissance architecture. The entrance to the impressive Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière was free, and the views of the city from the top were absolutely stunning. ⛪️🌟 We spent some time exploring the Musée des Beaux-Arts, where the €8 entrance fee gave us access to a vast collection of art spanning from ancient times to the modern era. The museum itself, housed in a former abbey, was a marvel. 🎨 After soaking up some culture, we indulged in Lyon’s renowned cuisine at a traditional bouchon. Lyon Coliseum Built in 15 BC during the reign of Emperor Augustine, the adopted son of Julius Caesar, this theater is one of the oldest theaters in France. It has a large theater and a small theater. It can accommodate 10,700 people at its peak. It is a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy the sunshine. Great place. . Strategy tips: 1. The center of the old city is the Saint-Jean Cathedral built in the 12th century. A recommended walking route starts from the church and goes to St. Paul's Church on the north side. 2. #timetotravel The Basilica is located on the Fouvrière hill, overlooking Lyon and there are 3 ways to get there: 1) To take the tram from Vieux Lyon to Fourvière 2) Hike (~18 mins on foot) 3) By car (~4 mins) I took the 1st option going up and the 2nd option down. I would definitely recommend taking the tram because the tram itself is another attraction in lyon (much like the peak tram in HK). There are a lot to see and eat in Lyon. I encountered racist acts unfortunately and that made the trip less enjoyable. Despite the unpleasant experience, I do find the city itself looks beautiful.

The museum provided legendary film sets, costumes, masks, animatronics, whatever tangible created for the sole purpose of their movie. This is a very classic and different hotel in Lyon named: Cour des Loges Lyon, a member of Radisson Individuals and you NEED to stay at least one night there! The decoration is very unique and you immediately feel there is something special. They have a Michelin star restaurant inside the hotel. 😱 The service is excellent and the room smells so good! My recommendation is for you to walk in the neighborhood from the hotel. It is not in the downtown but there is a lot to discover: All the building near to it are classical and beautiful. This hotel is special. It is carefully decorated with the inspiration of the Little Prince history. We felt very special. The room is beautiful. The view? It looks like the Prince view from his castle. It’s amazing to be able to see the river from your window and the pool is huge and heated. With exquisite mosaics, superb window panes, and St. Joseph's basement, it gives me a powerful visual shock. Whether it's murals, glass, domes and columns, everything is intricately crafted. The Notre Dame de Fourviere actually contains two churches. The church is very gorgeous, and the church is very simple. Overlooking the Lyon peninsula on the top of the Riviera, the Rhone River and the Sane River meet here. It is a very good view point. #celebrateit Firstly the prices are quite reasonable for a 10 inch pizza. We had the chilli shrimp pizza which was quite good but there was only 1 shrimp on each slice. The Orange Glazzed Chicken Piadiana was quite a refreshing take on a sandwich with apples on it. The quality of both items were pretty good. The place is quite aesthetic too, with outdoor and indoor seating. Definitely worth a visit, and oh they have another branch. Best place to celebrate the weekend with friends
