    The park is filled with deer that are not afraid of people and will even come up to you for food. Just hold some deer crackers, and they'll come right over. Interacting with the deer is truly therapeutic, but be careful as they can sometimes be a bit pushy and bump into people. Although the scenery here is beautiful, whether it's cherry blossom season or autumn leaves season, it can get quite crowded, especially on holidays. Walking from the JR Nara Station, it takes around 15-20 minutes time. If you have a lot of time to spend in Nara, you can come here as well other than Nara Park or have a drink in the Starbucks that located next to it while enjoying the view.

    #fallishere If you are in Osaka you might as well visit Nara Park where you can just relax and chill in the park. No entrance fee. Free to roam around and enjoy the company of cute deers. This part of the trip was so exhilarating. It's simply stunning. The whole experience was amazing. The open fields, the shrines, the deer, everything was beautiful. Recommended to explore the park further and enjoy the nature. Be prepared to walk at least 20k steps and wear comfortable shoes.

Some deer are aggresive tho, they will be chasing you if they smell the crackers, which you can buy around the park for 200 yen. When you bow your head to the deer, they bow back to you. Getting there: From Kyoto, take the JR Nara Line from Kyoto Station to JR Nara Station. Miyakoji rapid trains depart every 30 minutes, and the trip takes about 45 minutes one-way.     #freehotelstay Nara Park is a gorgeous place to visit that is walking distance from the busy main station where there are many restaurants and a famous walking street. Entry is free and you are free to roam around the grounds or purchase some food for the deers. Money collected goes towards the caretaking of them. The deers are free roaming who seemed to be always hungry. Feeding the deers was such a fun activity. Once they see the biscuit in your hands, they will charge towards you. The deers can get quite aggressive so we put our child in her stroller as she was scared. Becareful if you have young kids with you. Also, do keep food and plastics away from them. We had a deer digging into our stroller basket as we had some leftover bread exposed. That shocked my little one and us. However the coolest thing about the deers are that if you bow to them, they will bow back to you! Besides the deers, Nara Park is filled with lots of culture and history with shrines and a huge pagoda right in the park. The area was tranquil and beautiful. Unfortunately we did not have much time to wander around longer. Nara Park is a absolute must visit as no other place has such a unique charm just right in the busyness of the town.

    If you have not tried fried donuts before, this is a store with branches all over Japan that you would have to search for. Got one to try to begin with and really loved how it is crunchy and yet, has a chewy texture, hence went for a second.     #wecreate Nara Park is a large park in Central Nara. There are more than hundreds of deer roaming freely around in the park. Deer crackers are for sale at Yen 200 for a pack of 10. Some deers will bow to you after you fed them. Most of them are tame, but can be aggressive if they are hungry. So don't make fun of them when feeding. To get there, alight at Kintetsu Nara Station or JR Nara station and take a bus there if you don't want to walk to the park. Admission to the park is free. #mytripvlog #tripblazers

  • The worlds biggest Bronze Buddha statue

    The Todai-ji temple near Nara park contains the worlds biggest bronze Buddha statue in an enormous wooden temple built over 300 years ago. The temple is set in grounds surrounded by deer that move around from the Nara park, with smaller temples and shrines dotted around the grounds. The Buddha itself is within a museum and you need to lay about $5 to enter, but it’s totally worth it. It’s absolutely mind blowing, the sheer scale of the Buddha and the structure built to house it is hard to comprehend. There are many smaller shrines inside and some interesting wooden models that shows the construction history. If you’re feeling brave and small there is a famous hole the size of the Buddhas nostril for you to try and crawl through The temple closes around 5 and they do last entry at 4:30 so try and come as early as possible to avoid disappointment! #summerbreak #mytripvlog #tripblazers #awesomepic #japan #nara #history #travel

  • Oh deer! Thousands of deer at Nara Park 🦌

    Nara park is world famous for the Nara deer that roam around the grounds, around 1500 at the last count. These deer have been protected for at least 1000 years and have become an inseparable part of the city, you will see there image everywhere. You can reach the park from Nara station on bus routes, about 4 stops from the station, taxis or direct on trains from Osaka, Kobe & Kyoto. The deer are very docile and friendly, If you are calm and considerate you can get close enough for photos and to touch them. The local shops sell food tor about $1.5 for you to feed them. But be careful, the deers can get very excited about the food and ground around you very quickly! It’s easier to find one or two deers on their own and feed them, feeding the large crowds can become very overwhelming!     The Nara Deers are cute and all but they get really feisty when you have food! Remember to ONLY feed the Nara Deers with food bought from the park! One pack of biscuits (10 inside) is 200 yen! You can get the food from any white standing wheel carts pushed by oba-chans (aunties). I’ve been chased non-stop by the deers once I bought my food. It was extremely horrifying. Here’s a tip! Get your camera ready once you find a deer to bow at!   • Todaiji temple

    During my one day trip to Nara, I also visited the todaiji temple here. An entrance fee is required. The temple looks pretty and the structure was nice in terms of architecture. I went in to the temple and there were also shops selling charms which you can buy as souvenirs. There is also this pillar with a hole where there is a saying that if you can get pass it, you will have good luck and health. Interesting. Overall enjoyed my visit here and went around taking some nice pictures.

    If you are in Osaka or Kyoto, will suggest taking a one day trip to Nara. It’s a pretty nice place to have a day trip and you can visit some temples while you are here and also take a look at these cute deers roaming all around the streets. The floor is quite dirty though so be careful when walking all around. You can purchase food to feed these deers and they will bow to you which is quite cute. The scenery here is also quite pretty and beautiful. Suggest coming here for one day to just explore all around and have fun!
