The mystical Ayutthaya
Spent a week with my girl in Bangkok for mother and daughter bonding time, and a day trip to Ayutthaya is a must for me. I enjoyed Thai movies, and Love Destiny has brought Ayutthaya on the spotlight, with the mystical Mini Angkok Wat and many prominant places along the river. The temple ruins is unlike others, it bears the Thai and Cambodian heritage.

Discovering Serenity at Wat Thammikarat: A Hidden Gem in Ayutthaya's Heat
#traveldiaries #100waysoftravel #temple #ayutthaya
Our visit to Wat Thammikarat in Ayutthaya took place on a particularly hot day, but the temple's rich history made it worth the effort. This lesser-known temple is still active, adding a spiritual ambiance to the ruins. We were struck by the sight of the headless Buddha statues surrounding the central stupa, a reminder of the temple’s long history dating back to the early Ayutthaya period. The iconic row of lion statues, or Singha, guarding the stupa, adds to its grandeur. Despite the heat, we enjoyed exploring the large reclining Buddha draped in bright orange cloth, a symbol of serenity amidst the ruins. The shade from the temple structures provided brief moments of relief from the scorching sun, allowing us to fully appreciate the peaceful atmosphere. Fewer crowds meant we could take our time and enjoy the quiet beauty of the site.💰Average Price per Person:

Ayutthaya is worth a visit | Ayutthaya Nanny Guide.
|Ayutthaya Nanny Guide.🎈ayutthaya(Ayutthaya, overseas Chinese like to call it the Great City Dynasty)Dynasty 1351-1767, equivalent to the Ming and Qing Dynasties in China
🎈Ayutthaya, meaning "invincible city" in Thai
🎈Ayutthaya Dynasty has a total of 417 years, which is currently the longest dynasty in Thai history
🎈The Ayutthaya of that year was a mythical world, with a population of about 1 million at its peak, magnificent palaces in the city, pagodas like forests, and the most prosperous business in Southeast Asia
🎈At its peak, the ruling area reached north to the Great Ming Empire, south to the Malay Peninsula, east to Changshan Mountain Range (now the boundary mountain between Laos and Vietnam), west to Salween River and Indian Ocean, exceeding the total area of Britain and France
🎈Known as the golden age of Thai poetry
🎈In 1767, the Burmese army looted the defeated Ayutthaya, gold and silver jewelry were also lost, temples and palaces gradually decayed, until the 1980s and 1990s, it was renovated again, and in 1991, it was listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO

🥣Dining
1、Baile Ship Noodles: Opposite Mahayana Temple, I think it is better than Bangkok's ship noodles.
2、Grilled Lobster: When you go to Ayutthaya, you must have a grilled lobster at the Central Shrimp Market. The price ranges from 380-1500 baht per kilogram. The largest one is as long as an arm. Go directly to the stall with the most people.
3、roti sai mai: A unique Islamic dessert in Ayutthaya, wrap palm sugar silk in dough, similar to dragon beard candy wrapped in spring roll skin, very delicious, available in the shrimp market, it is best to buy freshly made ones.
4、Baan Kao Nhom Cafe: A traditional Thai dessert shop with modifications, the appearance is so beautiful that people are reluctant to eat it. The only drawback is that it is too sweet.
5、Busaba Cafe: Opposite Ratchaburana Temple, the coffee is regular, the dessert is very distinctive, the third and fourth floors can overlook Ratchaburana Temple.
6、Night Market: Ayutthaya's night market is very cost-effective and tastes good. It is located opposite Mahayana Temple. The front is snacks, the middle is clothes, and the back has seats for dining.
🏜Attractions (two-day pass for 220 baht)
1、wat phra mahathat(Mahayana Temple) 50 baht: The famous tree hugging head is here

4、wat ratburana(Ratchaburana Temple) 50 baht: Next to Mahayana Temple, the famous door frame composition is here.
5、wat phra si sanphet(Pushenpei Temple) 50 baht: This was once the largest temple in Ayutthaya, and also the royal palace of Ayutthaya. The three pagodas are iconic landmarks, and the sunset here is also very beautiful.
6、wat boromaphuttharam(Popusa Saran Temple) Free: In addition to the existing main hall, the nearby dinso bridge stone bridge is also very ancient
5、wat thammilkarat (Tamikarat Temple) Free: The site is not large, but the remaining temple pillars and sculptures of snake gods and lion gods are very distinctive.
6、wat lokaya sutha(Reclining Buddha Temple) Free: The main purpose of coming here is to see the 42-meter-long reclining Buddha. The reclining Buddha is serene and mysterious, and it is the largest outdoor reclining Buddha in Thailand.
7、wat phukhao(Jinshan Temple) Free: It was originally a Burmese-style pagoda built by the Burmese king, and later rebuilt by King Naresuan the Great on the original site as a Thai-style pagoda to commemorate the victory over the Burmese army. Climbing this huge white pagoda, you can overlook Ayutthaya.
8、prasat nakhon luang(Buddha Footprint Temple) Free: Coexistence of old and new temples, the old temple is in Khmer style, while the new temple is closer to Indian style, dedicated to Ganesha. The exterior of the new and old buildings and the octagonal skylight Buddha statue are very impressive.
6、Ayutthaya Museum 150 baht: The gold and silver wares, paintings, sculptures and weapons in the museum are worth seeing.
7、wat phra ram(Pulan Temple) 50 baht: Located in the core area of the historical park, surrounded by rivers, the Khmer-style pagoda is well preserved and very beautiful.
🎬Itinerary recommendation
Ayutthaya is very close to Bangkok, many people choose a day trip, which may not be able to truly appreciate the beauty and tranquility of Ayutthaya, let alone its profound history. It is recommended that Ayutthaya at least two days, although these ancient ruins are somewhat similar, but carefully taste, you will find that each site has its own charm, of course, there are Ayutthaya's food...

Savoring Local Flavors in Ayutthaya
#eatlikealocal #100waysoftravel#thailand #ayutthaya #ayutthayacafe #thaicuisine
While driving around Ayutthaya’s old city center, we stumbled upon a charming family-style restaurant by the Chao Phraya River, serving authentic Thai cuisine for over 20 years. The cozy spot offered a great riverside view and a menu packed with flavorsome, traditional dishes at very reasonable prices. The chef seemed capable of cooking anything, and we instantly fell in love with every dish. A standout was the café inside the restaurant, where we enjoyed the best Thai milk tea and Thai green milk tea we’ve ever had. We ended our meal with ice cream cakes, though we were a bit disappointed they had run out of the popular durian and coconut flavors.

The stone Buddha Head In The Tree
#travellerswonderland
I took the train from Bangkok to Ayutthaya. It was neither fast nor slow, but relaxing. It took more than an hour to reach this quiet little town.
The train station is some distance away from the city. I called a Tuk, negotiated the price with the driver, and got an ideal price. Then I got on the train and went directly to the hotel.
The next day, I went to appreciate the famous stone Buddha head in the tree on the Internet. In fact, it is the original temple, but it has a new beauty over time. The whole temple is very similar to the style of Angkor Wat. It is very shocking. Especially the stone Buddha head in the tree to tour the scenery, and there are all kinds of snacks in the night market food street. It is a very warm place.
