[2025 Beijing Stay] Travel Guide for Expo Serene Hotel Shiyuan (Updated Jan)

Family theme room is lovely. Private hot spring very convenient. Staff is very nice and helpful. The hot spring and medicinal pools are excellent. Day tickets were included for both nights we booked, could enter multiple times per day. Expo Park right next to the hotel is nice for an extended walk, interesting pavilions and themed gardens for every province of China.

The lobby is spacious and bright, and the staff are very friendly. The bedding is soft and clean, and lying on it feels like being wrapped in clouds, instantly relieving the fatigue of the day. The rooms are well-equipped, with quality evident in the details. Our family of four has stayed at these four hotels countless times, and the most suitable one for bringing children is definitely the World Garden Hot Spring. Whether it's for the Strawberry Music Festival or visiting the World Garden Expo, whether it's to experience the Gui River culture in Yanqing or just to drive here for a weekend getaway, it's a great choice. In my opinion, some of the better hot spring hotels around Beijing include: Gu'an Rui Ge, Laiyuan Birch Forest Hot Spring Valley, Leting That Hot Spring, Chengde Jinshui Bay... In my opinion, some of the better hot spring hotels in Beijing are: Bay Hillside, Gubei Water Town Yushu Boutique, World Garden Hot Spring, Gubei Light Hot Spring, Jinyu Badaling CP, Hua Zhu She. Huairou Lanting (Mutianyu Great Wall), Xishan Hot Spring. In my opinion, some of the better hot spring hotels in China are, in order: Liyang Imperial Water Hot Spring. 🏨Hotel environment: Expo Hot Spring Hotel is located in Yanqing District, overall it's great, suitable for weekend leisure with kids. The hotel is in a prime location, right across from Gate 3 of the Expo Park, a five-minute walk. It's very convenient to drive there from downtown Beijing, take the Jingzang Expressway or Jingli Expressway, the whole journey takes 1.5 hours, and the toll is 24 yuan. 🛏Room facilities: We stayed in a Huancai twin room. The room is spacious and bright, with complete facilities and easy to use. The hotel opened in 2019, and the facilities are well maintained. The bathroom is divided into dry and wet areas, with plenty of hot water. The single bed is also 1.35 meters wide, large enough for one adult and one child, and the mattress is very comfortable. On the day of check-in, they also gave us fruit, and the drinks in the Mini Bar are free. 🍽Dining recommendation: The breakfast restaurant in the hotel is very good, with a variety of fresh and tasty dishes, including porridge, drinks, hot dishes, dim sum, fruits, and the freshly made noodles are also delicious. The hotel also offers dinner buffet, 398 yuan for adults on weekends, half price for children. Not far from the hotel is Yanqing County town, a 10-minute drive, there are home-cooked dishes and iron pot stewed fish, which taste good, you can try. 👍Most recommended: The hotel staff are kind and helpful, actively helping to give directions, and the check-in and check-out procedures are very fast. Free parking can also be arranged during the stay. The service is very thoughtful, and the warm and meticulous service makes us feel at home. ❤Reason for recommendation: The hotel has a play package, which includes two adults and one child for Qibabu Amusement Park, two adults and one child for Expo Lantern Festival experience, unlimited times for two adults and one child for hot springs, and two adults and one child for dinner buffet. It feels very cost-effective, all activities are well arranged. We went to Qibabu indoor amusement park in the afternoon, two large amusement parks, various slides and trampolines, the children played for two hours and didn't want to leave, the park facilities are safe, provide hot water, and the bathrooms are also clean. We went to see the lanterns at night, about 1 hour, very beautiful and festive, you can also pay to drive an electric car around the park, 120 yuan an hour. The hot spring is on the B1 floor of the hotel, open from 9:30 in the morning to 9:20 in the evening, with indoor medicinal pools and outdoor courtyard pools, not too many people on weekends, good experience.
