Perched on the iconic Santa Monica Pier, Pacific Park offers a delightful mix of nostalgia and seaside excitement, making it a must-visit for families, couples, and fun-seekers alike. This charming amusement park combines spectacular ocean views with classic carnival thrills, creating unforgettable memories against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.
Classic Fun with Ocean Views
Pacific Park is famous for its Ferris wheel—the Pacific Wheel—which not only is the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel but also provides breathtaking panoramic views of the Southern California coastline. From its highest point, you can gaze out over the vast ocean, spot dolphins, or watch the sunset paint the sky in vibrant colors. The park also features a range of rides, from the thrilling West Coaster roller coaster to gentler options for younger children, ensuring fun for all ages.
More Than Just Rides
Beyond its rides, Pacific Park offers a variety of games and attractions. Test your skills at classic carnival games, try your luck at the midway, or enjoy some live entertainment that often takes place on the pier. The park’s atmosphere is lively and colorful, filled with the sounds of laughter, music, and the clinking of arcade games.
Dining with a View
No visit to Pacific Park is complete without indulging in some of the delicious food available. From funnel cakes and churros to more substantial fare like burgers and fresh seafood, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Many eateries offer seating with ocean views, allowing you to dine while watching the waves or the bustling activity of the pier.
Visitor Tips
- Visit at Sunset: For the most magical experience, plan your visit around sunset. The views from the Ferris wheel during this time are particularly stunning.
- Pack Lightly: With all the activity and moving around, it’s best to bring just the essentials and use the lockers available on site.
- Check for Special Events: Pacific Park and the Santa Monica Pier often host special events and concerts, especially during the summer. Checking the schedule ahead of your visit can help you maximize your experience.

Pacific Park is a great spot to visit if you’re looking for fun attractions and games. The best way to get there is by car or taxi, but I took a metro and then walked over there.
Once you arrive, you can walk and get lost through the park and enjoy the different rides and games available. There are a dozen rides available, including the Pacific Wheel, West Coaster, Sea Dragon, Shark Frenzy, Pacific Plunge, and Inkies Scrambler.
You’ll also have the chance to see children playing and enjoying themselves on the different rides. The prices for different rides range from $5-12 if I'm not wrong. The atmosphere is laid-back and casual full of families and couples, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some fun.

Santa Monica Beach
"Santa Monica Beach" is one of the most famous and attractive beaches in the Los Angeles area, with convenient transportation at the end of Highway 10. The beach is 5 kilometers long. In the summer, it is often crowded here. It is worth noting that there is a pier here, which was first built in 1908 and can be said to be a symbol of "Santa Monica". The pier is high above the sea surface, and there is also a Pacific amusement park nearby. Many American movies and TV shows have been filmed here.
