Jinlin Sand beach
Jinlin sand beach is a perfect location to enjoy the sun while making sand castles next to the water body. It’s easy to find a parking and there is a shuttle service to the beach. We also enjoyed a group cycle on our way back. Though it was tough to climb, the way down was equally fun.
There is also a Buddhist temple nearby, the sound of prayers are soothing and relaxing.
Suggest to take along a folding tent and plenty of drinking water and snacks with you.
You can also take a walk along the Qionghai sea and enjoy the greenery.

Xichang Qionghai Wetland Park.
When it comes to Xichang, Qionghai is a must-visit place. Qionghai is the third largest freshwater lake in Sichuan, with many attractions, such as Qionghai Ring Sea Tour, Dream Water Town, Dream Back to the Countryside, Dream Flower Sea Wetland Park, etc. The Dream Flower Sea Wetland Park on the east coast mainly has Qinglong Temple, Moon Bay, and the popular Jinlin Beach, which has a feeling of Sanya, Hainan. Dream Back to the Countryside Wetland Park is also the Walnut Village Tourist Service Center at the eastern entrance. The battery car is transferred here, and it is also a place for tourists to rest. There are also many bicycles for rent. We walked about 3.6 kilometers from Walnut Village to Jinlin Beach. There are many scenic spots along the way, with a gentle breeze, pleasant scenery, and beautiful scenery like oil. We didn't enter the beach, but we could actually take pictures of the sunset and the lake with clear waves on the side.

Current situation of Xichang during the holiday.
Current situation of Qionghai, Xichang during National Day | Very beautiful but really crowded‼️
⚠️ Precautions at the end!
From the moment I couldn't get a ticket, I knew I was done!
However, at 8️⃣am, I found that there were very few people by the Qionghai (photo taken at Qionghai Hotel). Even on a cloudy day, the sea breeze makes you feel peaceful and serene🍃🍃. However, due to other arrangements, I didn't get to explore properly, but for someone who has never seen the sea, I am still very satisfied. It's really beautiful!☁️☁️
Around 9️⃣am, the crowd starts to grow, so if you want to take a picture without people, it's recommended to go at 8am. It's really comfortable when there's no one around~
There are also many places to have afternoon tea by the sea. It's also a good idea to enjoy the slow pace of life during the National Day holiday.
Tips:
1. It's getting colder, so be sure to bring a coat🧥, or you might catch a cold! (It was already cold in Xichang on October 1st, especially on cloudy days when the wind is strong.)
2. There are fewer people between 8 and 9 am!
3. If you want to see the sunrise, it's best to arrive at the best fishing spot in Qionghai before 7.10 (remember to check the weather in advance, there is no sunrise on cloudy days, for example, I didn't get to take a picture today, it's near Qionghai Hotel, there are also crooked neck trees along the way, choose whichever one you like, if you go late, you might have to queue to take a picture📷 by the tree)
4. If you are not staying at Qionghai Hotel, it is recommended not to walk through Qionghai Hotel to the sea. After 8.30am, there is a door禁, you need to scan your face to pass, there is a fence, not very good for taking pictures of people and scenery together.

Just got back from Xichang! Sharing a two-day tour guide that doesn't take you on a detour!
Xichang is truly the most beautiful small city in western Sichuan as selected by National Geographic!
"Half mountains and rivers, half city", there are both picturesque Qionghai landscapes and ancient city buildings with a long history.
It is very suitable for weekends, and come with friends or family to experience a two-day slow life~
.
Depart from Chengdu 🚅 Xichang West Station, the whole journey is about three hours
.
Day 1:
Xichang West Station-Jianchang Ancient City-Dashiban Village-Jinlin Beach Sunset
Day 2:
Fishing Platform Sunrise-Qionghai Wetland Park-Walk by Qionghai-Return to Chengdu
.
Jianchang Ancient City
The best position is on the city wall, overlooking the entire ancient city, it is very spectacular!
.
Dashiban Village
The orange ancient village is really out of the picture. There are many people taking pictures of ethnic costumes here. The clothes are generally 50 sets. There is also a Lingying Temple in the village, and the outer wall of the temple is out of the picture?
.
Fishing platform
The sunrise really depends on luck. When we went, it was cloudy ☁️ and we didn't see a stunning sunrise. But after waiting for the blue sky and white clouds, it is also very beautiful to take pictures on the fishing platform.
.
Qionghai
The side of Qionghai is really comfortable and cozy. There is a plank road that you can walk slowly. The breeze is blowing, the temperature is just right, and sitting by the lake is also super cozy~
.
Xichang food:
Fire pot barbecue, Liangshan snow, potato Ganbao, drunk shrimp, roll powder...

Pleasant Xichang, Dreamlike Qionghai
This year's extremely hot summer is still ongoing. Fortunately, I have stayed in Xichang for about sixty days, enjoying the relatively comfortable summer climate of Xichang, and appreciating the beautiful scenery within the city and the stunning views of Qionghai. Especially having the time to slowly enjoy the dreamlike scenery of Qionghai, particularly the beautiful light and shadow of Qionghai under the morning glow and evening glow. This is not a view that an ordinary travel enthusiast can appreciate and capture, but a reward after long-term observation and experience, a unique pleasure and sense of achievement for photography enthusiasts. Because the beautiful morning glow and gorgeous evening glow are fleeting presentations, only prepared photography enthusiasts can timely predict and capture their beautiful moments.
A set of beautiful photos for friends and photography enthusiasts to appreciate and enjoy.

Xichang, here I come! It's so beautiful, like a fairyland on earth!
Tourist Attraction Check-in Guide
Day 1:
It takes about 3 hours from Chengdu East to Xichang West.
Due to the holiday, it's hard to get a taxi outside the station, so it's recommended to take the bus, which is very convenient.
We stayed at Qionghai 17 Degrees, and you can take the BBQ Festival bus line, which is free and goes directly to the final stop without any intermediate stops.
In the afternoon, upon arriving in Xichang, you can experience the BBQ Festival. We left our luggage and took a taxi directly to Xiaoyu Village.
After 17:30, you can't take the boat as the staff is off duty. It's recommended to take the boat in the morning when there are no waves.
We ate at Xiao Xu BBQ in Xiaoyu Village, and the taste was good.
For those who can't eat spicy food, be cautious as the food here is quite spicy.
Day 2: In the morning, take a taxi to Xiaoyu Village Pier and take a boat to Moonlight Town. It's also close to Lushan, and the scenery along the way is beautiful. You can walk around and take pictures. We randomly found a snack shop for lunch, and the taste was okay. There are many small carts selling fruits in Qionghai, and you can buy some. The sugarcane here is particularly sweet. In the afternoon, go to Black Swan Coffee to enjoy a slow life with a cup of coffee. The last stop is to wait for the lake loop bus line. This bus comes every hour and can take you directly to Jinlin Beach. Arrive by 6:30 PM, and the sunset is around 6:50 PM. After watching the sunset, take the bus back. There will be a lot of people, but don't worry about not getting a seat. You can wait for the bus, as many off-duty buses will take people to transfer points. Finally, we had Hu Sige's special BBQ for dinner. It's cost-effective and tastes good. Each portion is large, so if you have a small appetite, you can order a little first and then order more if needed.
Day 3: Buy fruits at Nantang Market. The fruits here are not very cheap, so buy a little. After shopping, go eat Xiong's beef and lamb offal rice noodles. It's also convenient to take the bus to Xichang West Station from here. Walk 500 meters to the bus stop and take the K1 bus, which takes about 40 minutes to arrive.
Summary: The cost of living in Xichang is quite high, especially transportation. It costs dozens of yuan for 10 kilometers, so it's recommended to drive yourself for convenience. Be sure to bring a power bank, as many rented power banks are not fully charged due to the large number of people.

Clouds rise above the Qionghai Lake, boating between the sky and water
Qionghai Lake, located in Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is the second largest freshwater lake in Sichuan Province. Known in ancient times as Qiong Pool, it is an early Pleistocene rift lake. The lake is shaped like a snail, stretching 11.5 kilometers from north to south and 5.5 kilometers from east to west, with a circumference of about 35 kilometers and a water area of approximately 30 square kilometers; the average depth of the lake is 14 meters, with the deepest point at 34 meters; the water surface elevation is between 1507.14 and 1509.28 meters; the water level fluctuation is small, with a catchment area of about 27 square kilometers.
Qionghai Lake has a broad surface with rippling blue waves. The water is so clear that it resembles a huge mirror, reflecting the surrounding mountains and clouds. The color of the lake changes vividly, sometimes as blue as the sky, sometimes as green as jade, sometimes as golden as the sunset, and sometimes shimmering with sparkling waves.
Spending the summer in Xichang, strolling by Qionghai Lake, enjoying the cool summer days, admiring the beautiful scenery of Qionghai, capturing the rising and surging clouds of Qionghai with a camera in hand, accompanying the sunrise, and bidding farewell to the sunset, on the lake surface between the sky and water, fishermen row their boats, creating a series of exquisite pictures on the picturesque water surface and ever-changing colorful clouds, each unique and unparalleled. Here is a set of photos for your appreciation and entertainment.

My friend thought I went to Dali again, but this is Qionghai~
April, May, and June in Xichang are really worth it!
Jacaranda, ancient city, Qionghai sunrise, fruits with increased sweetness
And the fire pit barbecue I've been talking about
I like the climate here, warm in winter and cool in summer, just like Dali
You can go there in a weekend~
Departing from Chengdu:
🚗Self-driving | 5.5h
🚄High-speed train | 3h (Second class: 298/person/round trip)
❶ Diaoyutai
A suitable place to watch the sunrise, there are many trees of various shapes by the lake, and each one looks good in photos~ The best moment of the sunrise light is just before and after the sun rises, the lake is reflected orange by the sky, and the silhouette is also very atmospheric. Walking along the right side of the lake, there is a boardwalk that extends into the lake, which is an excellent spot for watching the sunrise
❷ Dashiban Ancient Village
After watching the sunrise, you can go to Dashiban Ancient Village. The ancient village is not big, and in the morning you can encounter many fresh fruit stalls, achieving freedom with blueberries, cherries, mangoes! Unexpectedly, walking along the main road, both sides are lined with jacarandas, I can't imagine how beautiful it is during the blooming season!
❸ Lingying Temple
Located in Dashiban Ancient Village, just walk a few hundred meters along the main road and you can see it, the perimeter is an orange wall, and the inside is filled with incense, which looks too beautiful with the jacarandas on the street side
❹ Jinlin Beach
I've been to Xichang several times and finally went to Jinlin Beach this time. The place is not big, with coconut groves and white sandy beaches. I took a few photos and my friends thought I was in Sanya hh, but actually, the best time to go there is at sunset~
🏷️
🔆Xichang is not big, the basic attractions are all around Qionghai, 1-2 days is enough for sightseeing, and it is recommended to cycle around Qionghai
🔆Xichang cuisine has a combination of Sichuan and Yunnan flavors, with a taste that tends to be sour and spicy, like Mianning local cuisine restaurant, fire pit barbecue, Xiaoyucun one fish multiple dishes specialty store, etc. are all good choices
🔆Xichang's climate is similar to Kunming, with an average annual temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius, warm in winter and cool in summer, so it is also called 'Little Spring City'

Xichang Two-Day Two-Night Travel Guide!
Hello everyone, I'm Shusheng. This time I'm sharing a 2-day and 2-night travel guide to Xichang City in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan! The Jacaranda trees in Xichang are in full bloom from April to May, which is incredibly beautiful. Everyone should hurry to Xichang to take photos📷 and check in~ I feel a sense of déjà vu to Dali, it's like Dali for people from Sichuan haha~
Transportation:
·High-speed train from Chengdu South to Xichang West
149r (about 3h in total) ps. We took the earliest train, departing at 8 am and arriving at 11 am
Train from Chengdu South to Xichang West
64.5r (about 6h in total)
·Taxis in Xichang city are a bit expensive, and it's not easy to hail one. I saw online that locals use Wanshun Taxi, but it's really a bit pricey. You can take the bus (get a bus card in advance)
Scenic Spots
Around Qionghai Lake: Fishing Platform→Qionghai Hotel→Lushan Scenic Area→Dashiban Ancient Village→Walnut Village→Jinlin Beach
·Fishing Platform: Watch the sunrise with a wooden bridge leading to the sea, tree trunks submerged in water, great for taking photos📷
·Qionghai Hotel: Next to Qionghai Park, with Black Swan Coffee right outside. I didn't stay at Qionghai Hotel, just took a photo outside
·Lushan: Take the cable car to see monkeys, the monkeys🐒 are a bit aggressive, one of them snatched my water when I was there
·Dashiban Ancient Village: Come here for portrait photography, filled with photo studios
·Walnut Village: Watch the sunset, the sea here is very clean, and it's not crowded! You can walk along Qionghai to Jinlin Beach, about 30 minutes
·Jinlin Beach: Watch the sunset, a large stretch of beach, walk to the palm trees in the afternoon and quietly wait for the sunset
Three common ways to go around Qionghai Lake:
①Walking + bus🚌 Free to take photos wherever you want, if you get tired, find a chair to sit. There is a bus that goes around the lake but it comes every 30 minutes, so be patient waiting for the bus (the day I went there was traffic control, I waited a long time without seeing a bus, I had to ask a sanitation worker to find out)
②Ride an electric bike, very free and not tiring, but some scenic spots don't allow electric bikes, you have to park outside and walk in, take photos, then walk back to ride the bike
③Ride a bicycle🚲 around the lake, about 35 kilometers in total, it's recommended to rent a mountain bike which is not very tiring, a regular bike will be exhausting
⚠️Note: Actually, there are more than three ways to go around the lake, I've listed the three most common ones, you can also drive/charter a car/take a taxi, etc.
Jianchang Ancient Town: Come at night! It's convenient to eat, the city wall is very photogenic at night, and you can also see the sunset. Choose an off-peak season to take portraits
Tangyuan: Come at night! Free to visit, you can buy tickets on the first floor of Huaiyuan Tower, take the elevator to the top of the tower to view the panorama of Tangyuan. I passed by while eating, you can come here for a stroll after dinner, the night view is beautiful and comfortable
Food & Drink: I had fire pot barbecue, Xichang 'hamburger', rolled rice noodles, Liangshan snow, etc., as well as distinctive Yi cuisine, drunken shrimp, Huili chicken silk, beef offal rice noodles, pot-side potatoes, etc.

Qionghai Hotel: The Lake View Gem of Xichang
Qionghai Hotel: The Lake View Gem of Xichang
In the enchanting city of Xichang, there lies a captivating secret haven—Qionghai. I had the fortune to stay at the Qionghai Hotel, a state guesthouse that dates back to 1958. It is not only a witness to history but also a guardian of Xichang's beautiful scenery.
The coffee shop within the hotel is like a gift from nature, boasting a stunning lake view. In the afternoons, when the sunlight sprinkles over the shimmering lake, I always sit here quietly, basking in the tranquility and beauty. The aroma of coffee mingles with the freshness of the lake, creating a unique atmosphere that intoxicates and makes one linger for a long time.
The ambiance here is truly amazing, as if you are in the midst of a beautiful painting. Whether it's the quiet moments of savoring coffee alone or the joyful times with friends, you can find the most perfect experience here.
Qionghai Hotel is not just a place to stay; it is a haven for the soul to relax and be nourished. Here, I have felt the unique charm of Xichang and have gathered unforgettable memories.

Xichang!! A super detailed two-day and one-night leisurely weekend trip
Don't want to be a special forces soldier, this time it's a more relaxed trip of eating, drinking, and taking photos. Sisters, come and copy the homework~
Day1:
Depart from Chengdu South, arrive in Xichang after 12 noon
Diaoyutai➡️Moonlight Town➡️Treading Waves Boardwalk➡️Jinlin Beach➡️Qionghai 17 Degrees Barbecue
p2-p7 Diaoyutai Moonlight Town Treading Waves Boardwalk
Actually, there's no need to squeeze in crowded places to take photos. I took a taxi to Diaoyutai and found it really crowded, so I slowly walked along the seaside and found that the whole way was very photogenic. Less crowded places are really more photogenic~
p8-p10 Jinlin Beach
A landmark check-in spot, but it's really crowded... Personally, I think it's better to watch the sunset in less crowded places for a better experience.
p11 Qionghai 17 Degrees, the small fishing village's tender fish slice barbecue
Stayed at Qionghai 17 Degrees, there are many snacks and barbecues downstairs of the hotel. Seeing that everyone said that any random choice would not be a mistake, I randomly picked one. Overall, it was a bit spicy but the taste was still good. Personally, I think the grilled white melon, grilled corn, and grilled chicken wings were the most delicious. The grilled fish slices that everyone recommended were just so-so. Of course, you still have to drink Liangshan Snow, which tastes like Jule yogurt haha
Day2: Breakfast Chicken Fire Silk➡️Jianchang Ancient Town
p12 Longan Huili Chicken Fire Silk Nanyuan Store
This is really delicious!! I went to a branch, just in time for the opening. The chicken soup was very fresh and fragrant, and it was the most satisfying meal of the trip.
p13-16 Jianchang Ancient Town, Guoguo Juice
There are not many delicacies in the ancient town, suitable for a light stroll and sunbathing. If you go, you must try Guoguo Juice! This shop is too comfortable. It's a Chinese-style courtyard, and every corner is beautiful. When I went, it had just opened for business. I chose to sit by the window on the second floor, enjoying the breeze and the sun. The quiet courtyard with music and birdsong is very healing. You must try their sugarcane juice, which is freshly squeezed and very sweet!!
Other than that, I quite liked Xu Guokui. The taste of their sweet Guokui is like scones. The oil tea was so-so, a bit greasy.
⚠️Note:
1⃣️Taking a taxi in Xichang is indeed quite expensive. Personally, I think the current weather is not very suitable for renting electric bikes, too sunny and windy. I think the bus is the most ideal mode of transportation. Download 'Yuecheng Bus', which has detailed route planning. There are many bus trips, and the speed is usually faster than estimated, and the arrival time is also much earlier than expected.
2⃣️Now there is a new lake circuit to Jinlin Beach, you can directly get to the 'Jinlin Beach' stop, which is much more convenient than before.
3⃣️Personally, I think there's no need to go to Dashiban Village if you're not taking Yi ethnic group photos.
4⃣️Be sure to do good sun protection and bring sunglasses. The sun is really strong and a bit dazzling, and the wind is very strong. My umbrella was blown away several times.
5⃣️The temperature difference between morning and evening is big, remember to bring a thin coat.

BLAZE HARPER
Chengdu to Xichang | Self-drive family trip, fun and not tiring, definitely worth it!
| Self-drive family trip, fun and not tiring, definitely worth it!. In April, Xichang has a pleasant climate, neither cold nor hot, with a gentle breeze, and it's very beautiful. If you want to visit Xichang, I highly recommend coming in April!
We drove from Chengdu, a journey of more than five hours. The whole way is scenic, leisurely enjoying the sights as we went. On the way, we passed through the Mud Mountain Tunnel, where the view outside the window was nice, though it was a bit like a foggy and drizzly rain.
🌈 As we approached Xichang, the world suddenly changed, no more foggy skies, but blue skies and white clouds, the sun shining brightly, clear skies, fresh air, and most importantly, the air quality was really good.
🌸 In Xichang, we stayed at the Xichang Guanhai Tingtao Art Hotel. It was like finding a treasure, very, very nice, comfortable to the extreme, whether it's the hotel location, interior environment, parking, room types, service, food, etc., all worthy of praise, and the off-season price was beautiful! The key is that it's very close to the seaside, just separated by a road. It's very close to Yinlin Beach, Jinlin Beach, Lushan Scenic Area, and Dashiban Village.
🗓 Itinerary:
Since we were with a child, we didn't want to rush through the sights or be too regimented, so we played as we pleased.
On the first day, we arrived in Xichang around three or four in the afternoon, rested for a while, and then walked to the seaside for a stroll. Walking on the sea boardwalk, the child played with sand, which was very pleasant. But here's a warning, don't go to Rongyuan for food, the service and taste are not good at all!
On the second day, we had breakfast at the hotel. Since the child wanted to stay in bed and my husband also felt it was nice to sit on the hotel balcony listening to the sound of the sea and enjoying the view of the courtyard trees, we didn't go out in the morning. In the afternoon, when it was less sunny, we went to the nearby Dashiban Village, an unimaginably beautiful village with blue skies, white clouds, yellow walls, green stone water paths, and Lingying Temple, a nice place to take a walk. Then, before the sun set, we went to Jinlin Beach not far ahead. The sand may not be as good as the seaside, but it was still very nice, and the child loved playing there. Watching the sunset glow spread over Qionghai, watching the gentle waves of Qionghai, watching the child's joyful laughter, watching the wind rustle the willows on the shore... It was truly a happy and relaxing trip.
On the third day, we woke up the child very early because we were going to Lushan. We got up early to avoid the sun at its strongest. We were the first ones waiting at the ticket office, and because we arrived early, we could park freely at the entrance. If you come late, you might not be able to park, as there are very few parking spaces at the ticket office entrance. Lushan was also a very surprising place. We took the cable car up the mountain, which was quite relaxing. From the observation deck, you can have a bird's eye view of Qionghai, very magnificent! Then we visited the ancient Guangfu Temple on the mountain, worth a visit. We also saw monkeys🐒. We took the slide down the mountain, which can be understood as a very long slide, sliding down from inside the mountain, and you can see many monkeys🐒 during the process. The child really liked it.
We had lunch at the hotel at noon, and I must say, even the lunch at this hotel was very delicious and not expensive. After resting for a while, we set off back to Chengdu. On the way back, we also casually visited Menghuo City, but since it was a bit cold on the mountain, and I have a bit of a fear of huge things, we didn't stay long and continued on our way. It was already dark when we arrived in Chengdu.
❤ Overall, this trip was very pleasant, and this kind of self-drive trip that allows you to play at your own pace is really perfect for a family trip!
Xichang, recommended!
