Do you occasionally want to escape the colorful and hustle and bustle of New York? Then you must not miss the Roosevelt Island cable car ride, which is located near Central Park! You don’t need to buy a separate ticket to take the cable car. As long as you use the seven-day unlimited subway ticket that tourists will definitely buy, it’s free to go back and forth. Generally, cable cars offer a panoramic view of the mountains and forests, but the cable car on Roosevelt Island allows you to see the concrete jungle of city buildings. , don’t have another flavor. In 1637, Dutch Governor Wouter van Twiller bought the island from the Native Americans, who called it Minnahanonck. It was incorporated into New York City in 1828, where a workhouse and prison were established, giving it a notorious reputation. Formerly known as Blackwell's Island, it was renamed Welfare Island in 1921, and then renamed again in 1973 in honor of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In 1934, the old institutions were replaced by a municipal hospital.
