The breathtaking Thean Hou temple in KL
Thean Hou Temple is one of the largest and oldest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia.
Located near Jalan Klang Lama on the southwest side of Kuala Lumpur city, it is just a short drive from Bukit Bintang… Perched on a hill, it offers stunning panoramic views of the city.
When you enter the temple, you can find the statue of the deity Thean Hou between the Goddess of the Waterfront and the Goddess of Mercy.
Elements of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism are also added into the temple’s magnificent structure with statues of Wei Tuo and Guan Di (the God of War).
Thean Hou temple also conducts Chinese wedding ceremonies, fortune telling readings and martial arts classes such as tai-chi, wushu and Qigong.
I have visited Thean Hou a few times but am always just as fascinated with it as I was on my first visit there…
Address - 65, Persiaran Endah, Off Jalan Syed Putra, 50460 KL.

A beautiful temple And very colorful too.
On top of a small hill And you have to climb a little to reach the front of the temple. Good and quiet atmosphere You can also get a beautiful view of the city from the highlands. It was never in my plans, but I’ve been to it since I had some free time. And I wasn’t disappointed
A beautiful temple with many shots worthy IG. As on a hill, it overlooks a stunning skyline from Kuala Lumpur.
Shops with souvenirs and stalls with vegetarian food make up LG’s level. The right courtyard and temple are located on the second floor.
The temple’s interior is air-conditioned although its six doors are open at all times.
A lot of couples took pictures here.
Here is one of the most beautiful temples in Kuala Lumpur. This temple is located on a hill where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the city in silence. You can feel a lot of positive energy here. There are a number of restaurants at the bottom of the temple, but they are not good places. Water is better with you When you return, you have to use the taxi online because there is no taxi here and you have to walk a very long road to get to the main street for about forty-five minutes!!!
One of the most beautiful temples I have visited in Malaysia, the colors are breathtaking and detailed. The pictures are amazing Devoe is worth a visit

One of the famous temple in Kuala Lumpur is the Thean Hou Temple. It is a six tiered temple of the Chinese sea goddness Mazu. The temple looks very grand and is huge.
There are lots of people from all over the place will go there to pray for blessings. Buddhists who cross the Fortune bridge might be sprinkled with holy water by the monks for good luck.
It is located on 1.67 acres of land atop of Robson Heights on Lorong Bellamy, overlooking Jalan Syed Putra. You can a great view of Kuala Lumpur from there. It is a nice place to visit.
There is a open space car park but you need to wait to get a parking lot. Good to take taxi there. The nearest train station is Mid Valley and is a 15 minutes walk away.
It is open daily from 8am to 8pm.
I wish I can go Spain!

This is a beautiful temple and worth a visit. Be sure to see and read the lives of people who have been turned into statues around the back of the temple. Their life stories are very interesting and essential.
Beautiful Chinese temple - small suburbs of the city but beautifully floating on a hill.
You can see the Kuala United Malam skyline from this temple. The temple itself is very beautiful - we loved the wonderfully carved dome where people offer intrinsic sticks. We sat on the white benches for a long time and felt at peace in that temple.
This temple is a must see! If you are planning to visit Kuala Lumpur, do yourself a favor and go to this beautifully built colorful temple. The place is quiet and has countless picturesque areas. There were some worshippers performing their prayers inside the Chinese shrine, but you can still take pictures and enjoy your time nearby. It was a great place to visit! It’s best to download an app called Grab to get a transfer there because there aren’t a lot of taxis passing nearby that take you to and from the temple.
A picturesque place, a sacred Buddhist temple in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. Entry is free Don’t miss it when you’re in Malaysia

It opened since 1989 and built by the Hainanese people dedicating to the goddess Kuan Yin, goddess Tian Hou and goddess of the waterfront.

Thean Hou Temple 🏮✨
Thean Hou Temple is one of the largest and oldest temples in South East Asia. It’s located around 20 mins from KL city center and should not be missed when visiting the city.
Upon entering the temple, you will notice the statue of the deity Thean Hou between the Goddess of Waterfront and Goddess of mercy. On the main floor, there are beautiful red lanterns that spread across the temple grounds. You will find many locals who visit for prayers as well as many young couples getting pre wedding Photoshoots or their marriage license. The day I visited might have been an auspicious day as I seen nearly 50 couples in the waiting area. Since this is also a popular tourist landmark, it is best visited in the early hours of the day.
📜 Fun fact: visitors can have their fortune told at the prayer hall. This is available both in English and mandarin.

Thean Hou Temple ⛩️✨
One of the largest temples in South East Asia. Six storied temple established in 1989, and consists of architectural designs of Mahayana Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism. 👀
Very nice and relaxing environment. The temple itself is peaceful, clean and a welcoming environment. Multiple zodiac signs placed around the gardens for viewing as well. Worth to spend the morning exploring. Really fun to walk around. Especially find the staircase in the main big tower. It’s a hidden gem not many people know about. 😱
The temple is on a hill, so it provides a good view of Kuala Lumpur skyline. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in KL. Would recommend a place to go for tourist and also local. 😊🫰🏻

Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 🇲🇾
Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, is the classic stop on every traveler itinerary around Southeast Asia. Read our budget travel guide on the best things to do in KL, top attractions. The city has it's perks. Can find Great deal of food. Mostly good. Colorful people. Colorful in everyway (from race to attitude). A lot of traffic, But the traffic moves. Most of the time. Not that overpriced. There is interesting history behind some of the buildings and monuments. But it's really pointless history. But history nonetheless. There can be a lot to see, depending on where you're going and what you're looking for. Exceptionally good place to shop.

The Thian Hau Temple or Goddess of Mercy Temple is not far from KLCC city center. It is located on a hill. On the day I went, there were many couples taking wedding photos there. This temple was built by the Hainanese community living in Malaysia. From the city center, you can use a Grab service. It costs about 9 ringgit per trip. #kl

beautiful chinese temple near KL
Contrary to first appearances, Thean Hou Temple is not old, having been built between 1981 and 1987. Up close, you can tell that underneath the traditional ornate decorative facade it is a modern structure.
The temple is certainly large, spreading over six tiers. It is managed by Malaysia's Hainanese community who descended from sea-faring fisherfolk from the island of Hainan, China. Although most Hainanese in Malaysia are no longer involved in fishing they will still flock to this temple, together with other local Chinese and foreign visitors to pray for good fortune and blessings in other aspects of their lives.

Thean Hou Temple
When I planned my trip to Kuala Lumpur, I knew I wanted to visit Thean Hou. From KLCC, I used Grab to take a car across to the temple area, I actually left at around 9am to miss the crowds. This was really helpful for getting good photos before the crowds.
Thean Hou is not far to travel too, it was pretty cheap in the Grab car. Entry is free so you can explore for as long as you wish while paying nothing. After walking around the temple, you should make sure you check out the small shop beneath the temple. It’s filled with Malaysian gifts and obscure souvenirs. I bought some of my unique gifts in this shop, I saw them no where else.
A few hours here is a decent amount of time, I left around 11:30 and it had started to fill up more around the main areas.

I can never get over how beautiful this temple is! What’s more surprising is that this temple was completely empty when I visited. It amazes me how this temple is a place of worship and at the same time, a beautiful sight to see. Everyone is welcome to visit and it’s free! ☺️

If red is your favourite colour then you need to visit this place!
Thean Hou Temple is one of the oldest Chinese temple in Southeast Asia. When we first arrived I didn’t know what to expect. We went there before lunch time and we thought that it would be crowded but not at all! It was really empty and we were the only tourist there.
I was thinking this place would be crowded because it is so beautiful and photogenic but for whatever reason it was so quiet there.
A lot of people go here to pray so you need to be respectful and don’t disturb them. Always follow the rules when visiting temples and dress appropriately, a lot of this places have some signs telling what to wear and what you shouldn’t do but some of them don’t. Do your own research before visiting a temple and try to appreciate as much as you can 💓
