Lake Temagami is very large and there are many islands in the lake itself ~ making it a popular place for canoe trips 🛶 On many of the islands are camps, such as Camp Wabun. Children from all over North America travel to Temagami every summer to experience a slow paced life in the Canadian wilderness. They have the opportunity to go on canoe trips around many lakes in the area and camp along the way ⛺️ I had the opportunity to go on a short three day canoe trip around Lake Temagami. We canoed during the day, portaged over the land through the forest, and then set up camp and cooked our meals at night. Wasagaming (also known as Clear Lake) is the main townsite in the popular tourist destination Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba, Canada. It is located at the south gate of Riding Mountain National Park along Highway 10. This townsite is 99 kilometres (62 mi) north of Brandon. It lies on the south shores of Clear Lake which is the largest lake in Riding Mountain National Park. During the summer season, which generally runs from 18 May to 8 October, Riding Mountain National Park is a very popular tourist destination and in the past has seen well over 300,000 visitors in a season. In Wasagaming there are many restaurants, hotels, and other businesses and services which cater to the high number of visitors. There is a large, full service campground as well as 525 private cabins and 254 private cottages, almost all of which are only used in the summer months. Including the many cottage and cabin areas located outside of the National Park directly adjacent to park boundaries, the Wasagaming area is home to roughly 40,000 cottagers during the summer. Victoria was the last stop on our Alaskan cruise, and we only had around three hours to explore the city. We found some walking trails from the cruise ship terminal towards downtown and Chinatown. The Parliament building was impressively beautiful under the glow of the setting sun. It is next to Royal BC Museum, which was already closed - but I definitely plan to go back and visit! Quebec City will make you forget you are in North America. The French signs, the cobblestone roads, the cafes and French cuisine, and the European style gardens and architecture made me feel like I was across the Atlantic Ocean and wining and dining in a small French town. There’s a beautiful lake, and in the summertime there are outdoor performances and fireworks by the water. The total length of Johnston Canyon is about 2.6km, which serves as an amazing but not too tiring hike. You get to see all kinds of geological views covered with beautiful snow, including canyon, creek, waterfall, cliffs. Immersed in the sound of the waterfall, I felt all my worries disappeared. I’m so grateful to have witnessed this gorgeous view in my life. Length: 2.6km Time: 1.5-2 hours Level: easy ‼️Make sure to have ice grippers on your shoes when visiting here.
