The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly—when I inquired about a washing machine, she generously upgraded our room for free to one that had it. The location is perfect, just a 10-minute walk from the station, with plenty of eateries and grocery shops conveniently downstairs. The room itself was beautifully designed in a Nordic style, featuring a cozy sofa and table where we could relax and unwind. One of the best highlights was the projector, with fast internet and access to all programs, as the owner had already subscribed. The bathroom was another standout feature, equipped with an electric toilet that added a touch of luxury to our stay. It was a cozy and well-thought-out space that made our time in Guiyang truly memorable.

Guiyang Arts Center...Chinese name: 铂翎汇艺术中心 This is a stunning building (the best one in Guizhou in my opinion) in the city of Guiyang in Guizhou province. Getting there: Fast train from Kunming, Guangzhou, Changhsha or Chongqing to the center of Guiyang. This are is called the Hua Guo Yuan area in Nan Ming Qu. Then take the subway or didi to Guiyang Arts center building. The building is on the edge of a gigantic park where you can spend the day walking, having a picnic, exercising, playing games or just relaxing. The building is huge and it looks like a beautiful palace. Nearby there is an excellent shopping center for buying clothes or for eating food. #guiyang

Getting There - There are buses available to get there. There is also a subway station just at the foot of the mountain. One can also use private transport or ride on a taxi or Didi to get there. Attractions - The place is basically a mountain with a temple at the peak. It could arguably be the highest mountain in the CBD of Guiyang, so you get a beautiful view of the entire city. Also because of the view, most people prefer to go there early morning to watch the sunrise or go at the end of the day to watch the sunset. Hotels - There are hotels nearby. Ambiance/Facilities - The hotel is equipped with state of the art facilities, large rooms that are well taken of. There are also gyms and a swimming pool as well as a Japanese restaurant. Highlights - Good corridors, great food in the kitchen and the rooms are super clean. There are so many different places to snap pictures. The rooms have the option to bath using the tub or a shower, and the bed is big. The toilets are automatic and can self sanitize, and they also have temperature control. Avg. Price per Person - The prices are reasonable and usually start from just below 400rmb a night. Howard Johnson hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels found in the beautiful city of Guiyang. The hotel is located in the district of Huaxi, about 20 to 25km away from Guiyang’s CBD, Huaguoyuan. The area is very large and it is designed in such a way that you’ll definitely fall in love with it at first glance. The corridors are very wide and well lit up, with paintings hanging from wall to wall. The floors have well cut out marble and the ceiling is covered with beautiful chandeliers. Everything about the place speaks class. The place is also good not just for accommodation but the food served there is amazing and they also have a conference center across from the hotel. Be sure to check it out. Transport is very convenient, buses and taxis I mean. The waterfall is amazing! Especially when you are going through the tunnel under it. But gosh, it was sososo crowded this July: in the line in the tunnel people almost didn't move... Qianlingshan Park is a comprehensive park integrating natural scenery, cultural relics and monuments, folk customs and entertainment and leisure. It is named after Qianling Mountain, known as "the first mountain in southern Guizhou". Tuyun Pass known as the "First Pass in the south of Guizhou Province, is a paramount pass for Guizhou people to go to Hunan Province and Guangxi Province. It is now located at the entrance to the north gate of Guiyang Forest Park. In history it’s written that it had been the most systematic and largest battlefield first aid center with the widest coverage area and the best medical technology; with more than 40 foreign medical volunteers, it had become a "Red Cross Village with international influence. Thousands of first-aid team members set off from here and went to various war zones to treat wounded and sick soldiers and civilians without fear of hardships and dangers. Zhucheng Square is in Nanming District, Zunyi road in the beautiful city of Guiyang. It is directly opposite the National Culture Palace to the east and Hebin Park to the west. Zhucheng Square was built by the local Government with a dream of seeking happiness for the people. The structure and architectural design resembles that of bamboos put together. The Bamboo tree has a long history in Guiyang. Zhucheng Square serves 5 key functions: as a point of assembly, for leisure and tourism for people like me, and to learn culture, ecology and history. Residents who live close by can sing and dance, play chess and hangout whilst celebrating together here. Hebin park, translated Riverside park not only offers entertainment for the young, but it has one of the most beautiful landscapes in Guiyang. These spots offer good backgrounds to take nice pictures as well as offer a good place to rest and relax. The park is kind of divided into two sections, one where the amusement rides are and another section for relaxing and enjoying some peace and quiet. It is mostly green but also has some colorful flowers and plants to mix it up. Summer is the best time to visit this place. Make sure to bring some snacks, a bottle of water and some board games. Hebin park has an amusement park inside of it designed to cater for kids and some adults who are young at heart. They have a range of activities to take part in, some slightly dangerous but very fun. The location is very convenient to travel to as there is a subway station right in front of the main entrance. There are also some bus stops a few meters away from the main gate. Entrance is free. FREE FREE FREE! One just has to pay for getting on different things: many options to choose from. They have a Ferris wheel, a train, some airplanes, slides, bumping cars etc. I would definitely recommend it for families especially if your children are young. Getting There - There are buses, meter taxis or one can order a Didi to the park. Attractions - There are beautiful state of the art buildings including the recently built twin towers, the White House (huge castle facing the park: word in the street is it is apparently a private home that belongs to two brothers who settled in Huaguoyuan a long time ago, and they are the ones that have developed it to be what it is today) Hotels - I initially thought the White House was a hotel but it ain’t, there are lots of hotels around though accommodating all ranges of people. Food & Restaurants - This is located in the heart of the CBD of Huaguoyuan, so there are vast amounts of places to wine and dine. Shopping - There is a mall on one side of the park and you can shop for literally anything from there. The academy is located in Huaxi, about 1.5km away from Guizhou University’s north campus main gate. There are many buses like line 201, 202, 402 etc that will stop at the Confucius Academy bus stop. As the academy is opposite a main road, Huaxi avenue, there is an unlimited number of choices for transport. There is parking available at Confucius hotel if you happen to drive to the place. It is an academy so the location has a lot of statues and monuments dedicated to the brilliant Scholar Confucius (real name 孔子). There are a lot of beautiful scenic structures as well as buildings. The environment is very good to take a walk and or relax. The air is fresh and vegetation is green. There is a hotel just next to the academy, known as Confucius hotel. The area is quite famous so a lot of transport systems pass through there. Depending with where you’re coming from, there are bus, subway or taxi options (Didi included). The entrance is a little tricky to find, I got lost twice, haha. Check my second slide to see where the entrance is exactly. The place has beautiful gates that you see as you climb up, very colorful and well designed. It’s literally hiking but kinda easy because there are stairs so you’ll be blessed to get a view of the city of Guiyang the higher you go. Once you get to the top, there’s the key feature of the scenic spot: the temple. A well designed structure if I must say. There’s a pavilion also and most people prefer to go early morning or end of day to see the sunrise or sunset. There are many hotels nearby. Food & beverages are sold at the summit of the mountain. Spend a couple hours exploring these unique stone statues near Guiyang. The park is not very big so 1-2 hours should be plenty. There’s quite a few vendors selling a drinks and snacks and a gift shop with themed art to purchase. If you want to take photos get there early. The sun can create some unattractive shadows so go on a cloudy for better photos. Cost - 20 rmb Getting There - Drive about 45 minutes from the Guiyang city center. Head up to DongShan park for incredible views of the city. The sunset is spectacular but it is very crowded at this time. This is a very popular spot for locals to go for sunset. There’s two entrances to the peak, the one in the south seems to have a lot more stairs and is the entrance used by most people. There can a bit of a jam of people all going down together after sunset. You can stay longer on top to enjoy the night view to avoid this. I checked the star charts and stayed until 10:30 to watch the moonrise. I’ve heard the southern entrance won’t allow you up after 6pm but the northern entrance isn’t as strict. #guiyang #guizhou #guizhoutravel #chinatravel #summervacation

Attraction - Jiaxiu Pavilion is a 3-storied building with 20meter in height and a pointed top, built during the Ming Dynasty. The whole site is divided into 3 parts: the first is the Floating Jade Bridge, the second is the main architectural building of Jiaxiu itself and the last part is the Cuiwei Garden. Here, we could have the chance to experience the rich collection of unique stone engravings, woodworks, paintings and calligraphy works. Qingyan ancient Town is a 45 minute drive from the city, and a 15minute drive from Tianhetan. I highly recommend that you do these two places on the same day since they are both far out of the city but close to each other. To get there, you can get a taxi/Didi. This will take +-45mins depending on weather conditions and traffic. Make sure you have your green codes prepared in order to gain entry. Attractions - the ancient Town is similar to most ancient towns around China. It does have a few distinct qualities differentiating it from others around the country. Attractions here are the wall, the buildings, the environment and interesting architecture all around. Hotels - I didn't see any hotels near here but drive 15more minutes and you will find hotels near Tianhetan. Food & Restaurants - there are plenty of food stalls, the entire Ancient Town is one giant food attraction. Jiaxiu Tower is located in central Guiyang, right next to the river area. We arrived on a February evening, but it was still a nice time of year to visit. The evening is definitely the best time to come here as it is accompanied by an illuminating light show of the pavilion itself along with the surrounding buildings. The various laser dances, multicolor lighting scenes and traditional music makes this a worthwhile attraction to visit in Guiyang. I especially enjoyed the reflective aspects of the lights off the water and the pavilion and bridge areas. We visited Guiyang in winter, while the weather was unfortunately cold and a bit snowy. Therefore it was good to find an attraction that was inside and was interesting. The museum is easiest to get to by taking the Metro and alighting at the International Conference Center. At the entrance, you need to scan the code and get a free digital ticket to enter. Once inside, you will learn about the history and culture of colorful Guizhou province. From the diverse people and their cultures and traditions, to prehistoric history and art. This holiday I decided to pick a completely random destination just from looking at a map of China. I decided on Guiyang as I hadn't seen much about it on social media. I am extremely happy with this choice. On the first day we went to the Stone Head Castle built by Song Peilun during his 70s. Each head is uniquely designed and there are more than 200 stone heads on the grounds. This project took him 20 years. From the city, you can take a taxi for 70rmb and that takes 45mins OR you can take a bus for 2 hours. There are plenty of food vendors on site and lots of souvenir shops.
