Just by looking at the name, it’s hard to tell that @sheep_n_pig is actually a small cafe in Tin Hau serving up innovative yoshoku (Western-influenced Japanese 🇯🇵 cuisine) 😂 When we came for a weekday dinner, the 💛 diner was nearly full, so it’s best to make a reservation in advance. Upon being seated, the friendly waitress walked us through the chef recommendations and seasonal dishes written on a blackboard near the entrance 🤓 [ᴘʀᴀᴡɴ ꜱᴀʟᴀᴅ] The two plump prawns were lightly seared and thoughtfully peeled 🦐 The tangerine dressing was quite refreshing and not too sour, making this a nice appetizer to start our meal. [ꜱʜᴇᴇᴘ ᴀɴᴅ ᴘɪɢ ʀᴏʟʟ] The food plating was impeccable and it tasted just as good as it looked 🤤Crunchy fried shrimp, raw smooth tuna and soft buttery avocado wrapped in pink soy paper and dipped in mayonnaise - this was the main highlight of our dinner 🥳 Kudos to the chef for accommodating our non-spicy request! But in the beginning, I saw that price is a bit higher than Sushi Express. But portions and sizes of Sushi 🍣 are much bigger. Guess how much I spend on all this food. I’m not lucky to find good Cantonese in Taipei. For my today dinner, I went to Sogo Zhongxiao to 三合院港式飲茶餐廳 on the 11th floor. The atmosphere in restaurants was really like in Hong Kong, made me feel very happy. we ordered a set for 2 just for 1200 NTD. It's included a lot of dishes. The dishes are small, but it's enough. Today I went shopping in CITYLINK Shopping Mall in Nangang District of Taipei. Mall has a great choice of different restaurants and coffee shops. And I choose to eat Vietnamese food in “Only Pho You”. And I super regret. I was supposed to have nice photos and nice food and I didn't get any of it. Youmou To Ohana Coffee Shop is located in the center of Taipei City near Zhongshan MRT station. Exactly in Taipei Film House. Very nice place to have your favorite coffee or tea. Ok, here’s the deal - @wagyuyakinikuichiro is SO worth the hype and calories 🤩 For those of you who haven’t seen it all over your IG feed (yet), this novel Japanese grill place offers all-you-can-eat premium beef and a wide variety of other food options served on a contactless bullet train delivery system 🚄 We visited the Po Lam branch for a weekday dinner so there weren't crazy many people. As we wanted to try the beef but didn’t want to splurge on wagyu yet, we opted for Course B. (🤓Note: There’s a promotion going on now where you can get a free beef special if you reserve a table in advance and follow them on social media) A nicely presented meat platter was served almost immediately after we notified the waiter our course of choice, so that we didn’t waste any of our precious 90 minutes ⏰ The platter consisted of two types of beef, pork, chicken, pumpkin slices and a mushroom. Compared to the marinated beef with house miso, we found that the unseasoned meat was easier to grill to perfection. We could also taste just how fresh and luscious each piece was before adding soy sauce, sea salt or pepper for more flavor 😋 Everything else was ordered via a customized QR code that showed all the 51 items included in our course. There was a surprising amount of Korean 🇰🇷 food, such as kimchi and fried chicken. Pasta West East Restaurant - a nice restaurant in the heart of Taipei. A few minutes walk from MRT station (interchange of Brown and Green Line). The restaurant has nice outdoor seating, and a building of two floors inside. The food quality is quite nice. Wine is a bit overpriced. On my last trip to Vietnam, Nha Trang I've been for lunch to a Russian restaurant - Armenia. It was a long time that I didn't go to Russia, so missing Russian food a lot. This restaurant has a great choice of food. The food itself looks not so beautiful, but the taste was very good. They have indoor and outdoor settings. Xi Shi Chinese Restaurant is located on the Ground floor of the Green World Hotel, Taipei. The restaurant is newly renovated and just recently opened. Food quality was okay, portions are the big, rich choice of dishes. The second floor of restaurants has private dining rooms, ideal for family and friends gatherings. Our first introduction to the Viva Wyndham Maya was meeting our concierge, Luis Raul, and it couldn't have been better. He was so welcoming, so friendly, so empathetic with my tired 14 year old daughter, that within minutes, he had us slowing down and relaxing. The resort itself it beautiful--everything was amazing. We loved the walking under the palapa covered walkways, reading the information about the wildlife we saw along the paths and the ancient sculptures located on the property, sitting on the patio under the lights and the trees while listening to live music, swimming in the pools and of course at the spectacular beach. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was great. The buffet had tons of options. We ate in the restaurants twice and those were fabulous as well. I couldn't take part in the activities (yoga, merengue, aerobics) due to a prior injury, but that looked like a lot of fun. There was live music every night on the patio and performances in the amphitheater. As beautiful and fun as the Viva Wyndham Maya is, it really was the staff that made the experience so amazing. Every single employee we encountered was helpful, patient, kind, and polite. Even the bartenders, making drink after drink in the sweltering heat by the pool, had smiles on their faces and would take a second to do a trick for a child, like throwing a piece of ice in the air and catching it behind their back with a cup. One of the coffeeshops I've wanted to visit for a while and finally got the chance to stop by here ❤️ The place turns out to be quite cozy inside because the atmosphere has good lighting, the staff is also a lot, so the service is quite fast and responsive and their song playlists are very comfortable to listen to and the guest environment which is quite a lot of foreigners makes it no wonder this place is indeed crowded. We didn’t quite get the ‘Taiwanese scooter theme’ in their new Gala Place branch, nor did we appreciate the blasting AC that left our fingers freezing cold 🥶 DESPITE the bubbling pot in the middle, but the spacious booths gave us a decent amount of privacy without compromising the service efficiency. The set menu for 4 saved us the trouble of having to make too many decisions, yet the portion was a little too much that we were pretty stuffed afterwards 🤰 [𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡] Out of the 7 options, we chose the fish maw and chicken soup base for a nourishing collagen boost as well as the signature spicy Taiwanese style soup base for an unlimited refill of duck blood jelly and tofu 🍲 [𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐭] The quality USDA choice beef short ribs and chuck roll come with the set, and you get to decide on an additional dish of either pork, chicken or oyster blades. This is my 2nd visit to this coffee shop. Their beverage just so so for me, but that probably because I'm not really into coffee. But I LOVE their truffle croissants, totally recommended to have this one. Have it on the spot or to take it one or two with you. IMHO, the taste worth with the price. The space ain't big, and mostly crowded during weekend. I went there around 4 PM and almost didn't get a seat. The place isn't large, but it offers quite atmosphere with well-selected calming songs, fits either to enjoy working on laptop or simply reading some books. They provide plenty variant of coffee, tea, drinks, healthy foods, snacks, main dishes, and desserts. For a coffee and tea lovers, you will need more time to choose which coffee or tea that you will have just like me 😄 Kohicha Cafe has two floors where the second floor is wider. They follow the health protocols where both of the staffs and customers have to wear mask, there's distance for each table and chair. Here are what I tried : Kara Miso Gyudon (IDR 65,000) A bowl of white rice served with braised sliced beef in spicy miso sauce, onions, crunchy tempura flakes, and seaweed. The beef is tender and combined well with the sauce that isn't too spicy. Manual Brew - V60 Dripper (IDR 35,000) Besides black, dairy, and flavored coffee, what I like from Kohicha is they provide the choices for manual brew with different techniques. Although I didn't see the process directly because I was in the second floor (they made the coffee in the first floor), but I followed their recommendation to try V60 Dripper. COFFEE AT CHILL-ANDAK CHECK! The spot that is back and forth is being explored by Mimin, according to the location, this place is really CHILL! Every corner has unique and excited items, the rustic ambience is really strong. The place is nice and aesthetic. Really really good for cool photos. It's a shame when I came here I didn't try the coffee because I just finished drinking coffee in the morning, so I ordered lemon tea. As for the food, it's very standard, I think it's really expensive. The rice bowl is really small because wkwkwk. But if the place is really good, especially the one on the front page, the vibes are really Japanese It's a really cool place to hang out or work. There are 3 smoking rooms, 1 outside. What's outside is no less good, especially in the afternoon. The parking lot is also very spacious. The toilet is clean. The baristas are friendly. Tebet never runs out of places for good coffee. One of them is at Story Coffee which is located on Jalan Tebet Timur.
