#chinatrip Another popular Japanese tea shop near Ruins of St. Paul🏠 When I first saw the name of the store, I thought it was "白目". Seriously, I'm so white-eyed😅 This daytime coffee shop lives up to its name. When I came in the afternoon, the sun was just shining in front of the shop☀️ The favorability level has been greatly improved before entering the store😍 When you push the door and enter the store, it is still a white "wood" space🤍🪵 White walls and floors paired with dark wood furniture🪑 The dim lighting accentuates the old atmosphere of a tea shop from the Showa era💡 The space is larger than expected. On the left is the bar and on the right is a row of square tables👀 Go down a few stairs and there is another area with three more tables and a bar 😮 Although there are a lot of seats, it was basically full when we arrived🧐 Fortunately, the store can pre-book a table online, otherwise there is a chance that we will miss out📱 Lunch is mainly provided in the form of set meals📋 I chose oden as an appetizer. The portion was very rich and not like the appetizer lol🍲 The bean curd skin wraps the lion and turns it into a juicy effect🤤 Choose one of the four staple dishes: Japanese fish and shrimp carbonara udon🍝 The udon tastes like lasagna and has a special texture🍜 Top with cherry blossom shrimp and hot spring egg🦐🍳 It’s a carbonara with a Western and Japanese fusion😬 You need to eat this while it’s hot, otherwise the sauce will be too thick and it’ll turn into a lump 😂 Came here to eat their soufflé pancake🥞 Among the four flavors of the day, I chose my favorite pistachio Souffle 💚 When I went to the stage, I saw the appearance and couldn’t help but double check with the store staff💬 I'm afraid that the taste of matcha will ruin the mood of the meal once I bite it🤢🤣 The dark green pistachio sauce is rich and delicious with waffles or pistachio ice cream🍨 Cold brew is not too dark and the flavor is better than expected 🍹 A very satisfying early dinner and full of energy to go to the show😌 #foodie #food

On Saturday, I went to Kwun Tong to look at building materials and stopped by this Taiwanese eatery for afternoon tea. The place was packed, with a few people already queuing at the door, while the neighboring restaurant had only a few customers. Ordered a variety of food and drinks, each dish looked very appealing. The snacks were small in portion, so I ordered a few more to try. Bubble Milk Tea A large cup, ordered with less sugar and ice. The flavor was rich, and the pearls were chewy. Taro Fresh Milk The taro inside was smooth and delicate, perfectly paired with the milk. Honey Glazed Seaweed Pork Ribs Rice The pork ribs were fried to perfection and drizzled with sweet honey glaze, accompanied by seaweed, cabbage, pickles, and green onions. It was a perfect match with rice! Cheese Ham and Egg Pancake I always love egg pancakes, and this one had plenty of stretchy cheese. Loved it! Not Takoyaki The texture was firm and not crumbly, with chewy octopus pieces inside. Fried Fresh Milk and Taro Sandwich Called a 'two-word sandwich' because it's thinner than a regular sandwich. The taro filling between the biscuits was surprisingly delicious! The fried fresh milk was very crispy, with a sweet and milky flavor. This Taiwanese eatery offers a wide variety of food at affordable prices. I found out that if you follow their IG, you get a 10% discount on afternoon tea, making it even more worth it. Unexpectedly, there is a small Shanghai cuisine shop here, which is quite crowded, reasonably priced, and offers generous portions! However, seating is limited and the space is a bit cramped. 🍜 Mouthwatering Chicken with Wonton Dan Dan Noodles $52 Lunch comes with a drink! The peanut dan dan soup base is quite rich, with some crushed peanuts and a slight spiciness. For this price, you get mouthwatering chicken and wontons, which is quite a good deal! 🥘 Shanghai Style Fried Pork Chop $59 The fried dish is served in a large portion, with some vegetables and shiitake mushrooms, and a large pork chop on top. It is pretty hidden but upon stepping in, I felt like I have entered into a cozy, mystical space. The ambiance was perfect for dates and not forget to mention, the food was pretty outstanding with the fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese dishes.
