#traveldiaries Urumqi is the capital city of Xinjiang and it is the perfect introduction to Xinjiang. Let me share to you an itinerary that will take you to breathtaking places around urumqi. Day 0- Arrival in the hotel and just explore the neighborhood you’re in. Try local snacks right away. The lamb skewers taste divine in Xinjiang so please don’t miss this paired with Nang bread . Visit the International Grand Bazaar and have your dinner there. It is so vibrant and you can shop there until you drop. 😊 Day 1- we have booked a tour to the Grand Canyon of Tianshan Mountains. Trip app offers tickets and shuttle bus tickets so just have a look through the app. Your hotel and hostel will have recommendations for tour operators for you anyway. If you are an anxious person, better book in advance but I don’t think they ever run out of tickets coz there aren’t a lot of tourists in Urumqi and it’s scenic spots yet. 7:30 was out call time at the meeting point. No worries, they will contact you in advance for this tour’s instructions. This is pretty much whole day activity so do not book any other stuff on the same day. Day 2- another full day tour. This time , you will go to the most and highly recommended tourist spot in Urumqi which is the Heavenly Lake. This is also a guided tour. Trip app has available offers for this too but then again you can also book through your hostel or hotel. Seriously, Heavenly lake and its surrounding mountain is like a massive painting. It is indeed breathtaking. Anyway, before you reach the heavenly lake, you will stop at a Kazakh village which is really interesting to see. You get to learn how the Kazakh minority live, culture and tradition. You will arrive back to tour hotel in the evening already so depending on your energy level you can go for a cultural show in the international grand bazaar. #traveldiaries I highly recommend to just wander around this canyon. It isn’t as famous as the other scenic spots in Turpan but I believe that it won’t take along time before this will get discovered by the masses. What a find and what an adventure. We came here by a rented car with a driver and he knows where in the canyon is great and safe for exploring . We explored more deep into the canyon for about 30 minutes and we figured we had to go back where the car is waiting for us so we could see more and explore more of this hidden gem. #traveldiaries This is Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves and it is one of the top tourist spot in Turpan. What can I say? Honestly, it is quite sad to see how severely damaged these precious painting and murals of different Buddhas. Though the paintings are mostly damaged you could still see and imagine how grand and beautiful they used to be. The location is beautiful nestled in the middle of the desert and a river. I have found a deeper appreciation to all three archeologists who have found this place and their efforts to still preserve what is left after everything was looted . Not all the caves are open just to set your expectations straight. Apparently, this cave represents the start of Buddhism in China. If you are in Turpan and if you have an extra time, I can recommend to visit this place. Length of visit: 30 minutes- 1 hour is enough Ticket price: 40 rmb. How to get there: we just rented a car and a driver for the entire day to visit different tourist spots in Turpan. The price depends in how long and how far are you going that day. #traveldiaries The Flaming Mountain is huge and this is the most famous spot where all the tourists come. There are many ways to enjoy the beauty of the flaming mountain. 1. Wander around by yourself without spending extra money. 2. Take a helicopter ride for around 3 minutes - expensive but if it is what you want to experience then GO FOR IT! 😊 3. Ride a jeep or a buggy- there are a lot of four wheels vehicles there that you can rent for a limited time. 4. Take an aeroplane- Same as the helicopter 5. Ride a donkey, a horse or a camel- the price really depends on how long will you be riding them. The scenic area where you can take all your photos is not massive at all so you can stay here as quick or as long as you like. I like the museum before you enter the scenic area. I really appreciated that. You will learned about the scholars who walked on the silk road and did some notable jobs during their time. The story of the Journey to the West is very interesting. #traveldiaries Coming to Urumqi I think I have prepared enough and researched enough but I still felt so surprised and delighted with all the things and scenery that I saw. I was pleasantly surprised. This is Swan Lake located inside the Tianshan Grand Canyon. There are multiple scenic spots inside the grand canyon and I this is the top of it all. This about 40 minutes away from the main entrance of the canyon which is at the foot of the mountain. Shuttle busses are included in your ticket price. When you reach Swan lake there is an opportunity to ride horses for extra cash. We did’t try it as we just enjoyed walking around and taking it all in. The view of the scow capped mountain, the lake, the grassland and everything that is in this place makes you feel calm! So , I highly recommend for you to visit the grand canyon. Trip app offers tickets , just have a look at the list of what scenic spots they offer for Urumqi. Enjoy! Tip: we went in October and it is freezing up there. #traveldiaries What is interesting about going to the Ancient Jiaohe City Ruins is that they have created a replica of what the ruins used to look like. It is very fascinating to see the lives of the ancient people living in Jaiohe. The entire village depicts their daily lives like the money , jewelry and the clothing they used. It also displays their livelihood like the process of drying the grapes and turning them into raisins. It is really a brilliant idea to show this village replica first before heading to the ruins. Make sure to but the All inclusive tickets that includes the Ancient village. Ticket price: around 150 which includes the ruins, ancient village and the shuttle bus. Enjoy! Tip: if you’re a foreign traveler I suggest that you join a tour group or you rent a car with a driver that would drive you to these scenic spots. The best Oriental Buddha Park I have seen in China so far. Most of the people visit Leshan city to see the stunning Leshan Giant Buddha, but just a few of them know about this amazing attraction. The Oriental Buddha Park has a breathtaking scenery. It’s full of Buddhist statues, sculptures and stone carvings. Also, it is surrounded by beautiful and peaceful gardens. I totally recommend to spend at least half day exploring the Oriental Buddha Park and another half day for the Leshan Giant Buddha. Such a secret little gem with so much to explore! A relatively little talked about park located between Dongguan on Shenzhen, this park is huge! There is a recently developed temple with so many beautiful little details. There are seemingly infinite paths all around the trees with some leading up to the peak. A lovely flat forest path winds its way around a 7km lake which is great for cycling. 愛河 (Chinese name) - The Love River is a canal that serves as the spine of Kaohsiung City, comparable to the River Thames in London. We went there early in the morning on a lovely summer day. As a result, there were few people outside 🥲 but we were fortunate to capture the spectacular sunrise scene 😊 The riverside park called The Love River Park, extends along the riverbank. The surrounding city structures, such as the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Kaohsiung Bridge, and the Kaohsiung District Court, also add to the magnificence of the scenery. #tripblazers #urbanexplorer #scenicspotguide

Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen is one of my favourite temples in Bangkok. The entire compound is stunning, with a rich cultural heritage, remarkable architecture and tranquil atmosphere. One of the highlights is the breathtaking pagoda which is the most stunning spot that I have experienced in Thailand. The ceiling and the pagoda will mesmerise you. Both are incredibly beautiful! Kelingking beach, also known as T-Rex Bay, is one of the most famous spots in Nusa Penida. The beach is surrounded by steep cliffs with stunning turquoise blue water and white sand. The views are incredibly amazing, absolutely breathtaking! There are many people going there to take pictures at the viewpoint but only a few of them are able to descend the narrow path to the beach, which it is totally worthy. Nungnung is one of our favourite waterfalls in Bali. It takes around one hour to reach the parking by motorbike from Ubud and approximately 20 minutes walking all the way down. Despite of the long distance it’s totally worthy to visit. There were 6 people including us which is quite unusual in any spot in Bali. The atmosphere is absolutely magical, we spent there around 2 hours taking photos, swimming and exploring. Highly recommended! Pura Taman Saraswati Temple is an Hindu temple located in Ubud, Bali. The spot is so peaceful, surrounded by beautiful gardens and lotus pond. The Mandala Suci Wenara Wana, also known as the sacred monkey forest sanctuary is one of the most popular attractions in Ubud. The scenery is beautiful, surrounded by temples, greenery and monkeys. Zhangjiajie National Forest Park became China's first national park in 1982. This park which was later known as Avatar Hallelujah Mountain is a park of quartz-sandstone pillars. The pillars are from the natural process of the changing weather. By riding the Bailong elevator which literally means a hundred dragons elevator, we can see this breathtaking view of the park. These 3 elevators that run parallelly offer sightseeing for visitors. The elevator itself is 326m and became the world's tallest outdoor lift when it was opened to the public in 2002. It can carry around 60 people at a time. I went to Shaoxing once on a day trip, but had no idea about this wonderful place until I stumbled on pictures of it! The Keyan Scenic Area is HUGE! It consists of three parts: 1️⃣ Tiangong Stone Buddha 2️⃣ Jianhu Scenic Area 3️⃣ Luzhen old town I went there during National week and made sure to arrive as early as possible, up to booking a hotel nearby. I started with the Tiangong Budhha which is where most people flock! The Stone Buddha was very impressive 👌🏼 The atmosphere was so calm and peaceful 😌 until the crowd arrived an hour later. There’s also relics, colorful paintings depicting history and temples. As you walk further, you’ll reach the Jian Lake Scenic area which was so picturesque with mountains and nature as backdrop! Wupeng boats native to Shaoxing on the lake were so charming! The entrance ticket includes 2 boat rides. The first will take you to a small island which felt rather plain. There was a restaurant, yellow wine sellers and a glass bridge which required an extra 20¥. I just walked to the exit where I caught the other boat taking tourists to Luxun’s old town. Luxun’s old town was lovely! There were restaurants with local dishes, a small museum, live Chinese old songs, souvenir shops and Jiangnan Style water canals with cobblestone pathways! It was relaxing to wander around and get some snaps 📸 The entrance ticket is expensive, but worth it! It also includes the boat rides. Entrance 🎫: 130¥ How to go ➡️Keyan Scenic Area, 柯岩风景区 I stayed at Mirror Lake hotel which is a 5 -10 min walk to the entrance. There’s a metro line connecting Shaoxing line 1 to Hangzhou line 5 which was a convenient option for me coming from Hangzhou.
