incredible
This was one of the best ski experiences. It is a massive ski resort known for its free-riding possibilities. It has all types of pistes ranging from long flat (but narrow) blues, to altenirary yellow routes which are basically marked off-pistes where your insurance works the same way it does on pistes.
If you're learning how to ski, it's a pretty big step up from the "magic carpet slopes" because the easiest blue runs always have some red parts or red pistes cutting through them which might be dangerous on busy days.

wonderful
This is a very well located ski resort, only 45 min away from Zurich, extremely worth to visit. We had only one issue: the tickets had been bought via net, and we spent cca.30 min in a cash desk until we finally get physical ones, which in the end didn’t function by the first gondola.
Not all the slopes were open, but still good skiing experience. Nice views and good restaurants, some of the chair lifts need upgrade for sure - they were super cold and icy and I believe that there is only one with the "bubble". Finding parking was a little difficult, but they say normally is better. We had lunch at Panoramic Restaurante (buffet).

#outdooradventure #travel #hiking #thingstodo #switzerland #grindelwald
Hiking in Grindelwald feels like stepping into a postcard. Nestled in the heart of the Bernese Alps, this charming village is the gateway to some of Switzerland’s most breathtaking trails. Whether you’re trekking to First, Bachalpsee, or the Eiger Trail, every route offers jaw-dropping mountain views, lush meadows, and crystal-clear alpine lakes. The well-marked paths cater to all skill levels, so whether you’re in for a leisurely walk or a challenging climb, there’s something for everyone. Pair that with cozy mountain huts serving Swiss delicacies, and you have the perfect hiking getaway!
The Queen of the Mountains: Hiking Up Mount Rigi

If you’re looking for a perfect Swiss mountain adventure, hiking up Mount Rigi is an absolute must. Known as the “Queen of the Mountains,” Rigi offers panoramic views of the Swiss Alps, Lake Lucerne, and beyond. The trails range from easy scenic walks to more challenging ascents, making it accessible to hikers of all levels. The best part? You can hike up and take the historic cogwheel train down for a classic Swiss experience. A Hiker’s Paradise: Exploring the Beauty of Oeschinensee
#outdooradventure #hiking #switzerland #swiss #travel #thingstodo #mountains #lakes
Nestled in the Swiss Alps, Oeschinensee is a glacial lake straight out of a dream, surrounded by towering peaks and lush meadows. The hike up from Kandersteg is challenging but incredibly rewarding, offering stunning alpine views along the way. Once you reach the lake, the crystal-clear blue waters invite you to relax, have a picnic, or even take a refreshing dip. If you want a shortcut, the gondola ride up saves time, leaving more energy for exploring the scenic trails around the lake. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a casual traveler, Oeschinensee delivers one of Switzerland’s most breathtaking landscapes—an absolute must-visit!
Bachsee
If you visit Grindelwald First and have some time, I recommend hiking to Bachsee Lake. The lake has a great atmosphere, surrounded by mountain views, which is very enjoyable. It’s a good idea to bring food for a picnic, but don't forget to take your trash back with you. The journey is not difficult; after taking the cable car to the top, there are signs directing you to walk for about an hour. The path is easy and well-maintained, suitable for children. Walking as a family is a lot of fun, and kids can experience the beautiful nature of Switzerland. It’s highly recommended for families with young children. When you reach the lake, there are benches to sit and take beautiful photos. You can walk around the lake and find many great photo spots. Spend some time relaxing and having a picnic before heading back.
A Dreamy Swiss Getaway – Simply Breathtaking!
Our trip to Switzerland was nothing short of magical! We landed at Zurich Airport and picked up a rental car, which gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace. The drive itself was an experience—every turn revealed stunning landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and charming Swiss villages.
Our first stop was Interlaken, where we spent the night surrounded by the beauty of lakes and mountains. The town’s peaceful atmosphere and picturesque scenery made it the perfect place to unwind.
The next day, we headed to Grindelwald, and it was like stepping into a fairytale! The breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps, the fresh mountain air, and the serene surroundings made it an unforgettable experience. Whether it was admiring the iconic Eiger or simply enjoying the peace and quiet, every moment felt surreal.
Switzerland truly exceeded our expectations—immaculate roads, friendly locals, and scenery that looks straight out of a postcard. If you're looking for a trip filled with natural beauty and tranquility, this is the place to be! Can’t wait to return!

Of Water and Cheese in Switzerland — Cheateau de Chillon
At the shore of Lake Geneva stands the beautiful Château de Chillon (prounounced SHEE-on). On this sunny day we went to Vevey to visit the Chillon Castle. Château de Chillon has a colorful history. Its development from a border outpost to its current stately presence was inextricably intertwined with its location and regional history. Chillon began as a Roman outpost. The Romans chose this location as a strategic decision. Northward, the route goes toward France and Germany. At the same time, the castle is at a location that stands on the route South to Italy. Officials at Chillon collected toll fees from all through traffic.
Over the course of a few hundred years, the outpost was controlled by different authorities. These few hundred years, particularly during the 13th to 15th century, was also the time necessary for the construction of the Castle. The outpost served increasingly important functions in commerce, politics and defense. The Savoy, the Bernese and the Vaudois exercised influence over the castle in its later history.
The Savoy period is worth a special mention because they were the ones that extended significant influence with Chillon as its administrative seat. The Savoyards acquired enormous financial gains from the toll, taxes, international trade and terrestrial expansion that they developed in the Chillon area. With this the counts of Savoy, most notably Pierre (1268) and Phillippe (1285), made architectural improvements to the Castle. It was with these developments that the Savoyard extended their influence into the Vaud region.
As it serves a military purpose, the castle acquired structures of defense. For example, in the 11th century, there was only the lower part of the keep, the inner curtain wall and the glacis. By the 13th century, the Savoyards have added the outer curtain wall and three round watch towers in order to improve defense.
The castle's history has drawn many famous people to the castle, particularly literary figures. Lord Byron, for example, visited the dungeon and carved his name onto the pillar. The muses were at work and thereafter he wrote the poem The Prisoner of Chillon, referring to Francois Bonivard, who was kept here as a political prisoner.

Looking for an adrenaline rush with amazing views? 🏞️ Look no further…
Switzerland - by far the most scenic and beautiful country in all of Europe🇨🇭 Everyone knows that the country is a paradise for climbers, photographers, skiers and other sports activities but one of them is not that well known…
It’s called Via Ferrata🧗🏼♂️
So if you’re not scared of heiggts, love some easy climbing and enjoy breathtaking views, then come to the Via Ferrata route in Lauterbrunnen next to Interlaken🏔️
Just take the gondola from “Lauterbrunnen” up to “Mürren” for around $20 (pretty cheap for swiss standarts) and then walk to the start of the Via ferrata via the signs that are leading the way as soon as you step out off the gondola🚠
You can rent the harmess and helmet for around $15 from a nearby sports shop, or you can just bring your own💸
So if you wanna explore Europes most beautiful country in a more exciting way, now you know where to book your next flight to🛬

Zermatt, Switzerland
"Then you will fall in love with Zermatt, Switzerland"
In fact, Switzerland is a city with beautiful nature in every city, but... I would like to leave out one city that I especially like, which is "Zermatt". I don't know why, but I feel that this city is a small and warm city. With the atmosphere at night, you can see the lights of houses contrasting with the mountains and streams. Adding to the atmosphere with the coldness of the snow, you can smell the warm smoke coming out of the chimneys throughout the city, making you feel really warm.
In addition, you have to give in to the beauty of the Matterhorn mountain, which is famous all over the world. Taking the cable car or hiking up to the top of the mountain is one of the highlights of the activities when coming to Zermatt. And I believe that many people who have visited will definitely like this city....

🇨🇭 Kornmarkt, a Historic Square in Lucerne
Kornmarkt is a historic square in the old town of Lucerne, Switzerland. It is one of the city's most picturesque spots, surrounded by medieval buildings, including the Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall), which dates back to the early 17th century. The square was historically a marketplace where grain (Korn in German) was traded.
Today, Kornmarkt is a lively area with shops, cafés, and a charming atmosphere, making it a great place to explore while walking through Lucerne’s old town. It’s also close to other key attractions like the Chapel Bridge and the Musegg Wall.

The Burnt Green of Bern in Switzerland
The street scenes of Bern left an everlasting impression on my mind. At first sight of Bern, I was surprised by its colors. The main color is a burnt green, consistently present in most of the sandstone buildings in the Altstadt. This burnt green is a shade lighter, and creamier, than the camouflage green used in the U.S. army. The buildings look very elegant. It is a kind of color that gives an aged vibe, perfectly befitting to Bern being a city that has stood the test of time.
Yet on top of the Műnster St Vinzenz, I looked onto a completely different impression of Bern. The tops of the buildings are all in red. The warm hue seemed to express welcome, quite unlike the slightly colder tone of burnt green as I observed on the ground.
The founder of Bern was Berthold V, Duke of Zahringen. Legend had it that he decided to name the settlement after the first animal that he hunted. It turned out to be a bear (Bär) and thus Bärn was the name of this settlement. In 1353, Bern joined the Swiss Confederation. A fire destroyed Bern’s then timber-made buildings in 1405. Thereafter its people rebuilt the town in stone, and thus, the beautiful sandstone buildings we see today in this archaic city. According to my guide book, the town has retained its character since. In 1528, the Bernese declared itself Protestant. It has since brought Protestantism to other regions in Switzerland, including Lausanne.
The cobbled streets of Bern were once treaded upon by the troops of Napoleon, who made, in the history of Switzerland, the only invasion ever into this country in 1798. In 1848, Bern was chosen as the federal capital of Switzerland. The Altstadt is an incredibly pleasant walk. My only regret was that the Zytglogge closed for renovation. If given a chance, I would visit Bern again just to see it.

If you ask me which city was the best while traveling in Switzerland, I would say Zermatt.🇨🇭
Zermatt Zermatt is one of the cities you must visit. Seeing the Matterhorn in person on a clear day, paragliding while looking at the Matterhorn..! It was a day when I was able to fulfill my bucket list in Switzerland! They say it's difficult to see the peak of the Matterhorn on a clear day, but I was able to see the Matterhorn in a really clear and clean way. I was wondering where to go paragliding between Interlaken and Zermatt, but I decided to go to Zermatt because of the Matterhorn. (I recommend making a reservation for paragliding in advance.)
