Bratislava is beautiful 🏙️
#cityscape
My recent trip to Bratislava, Slovakia, was such a pleasant surprise! The city may be small, but it’s full of charm and history. I started my day at Bratislava Castle, which sits on a hill overlooking the Danube River—entrance is about €10, and the views alone are worth it. The castle also has some fascinating exhibits about Slovakia’s history.
Afterward, I wandered through the Old Town, where the narrow streets are filled with colorful buildings, quirky statues, and cozy cafes. Don’t miss St. Martin’s Cathedral and Michael’s Gate, both iconic landmarks. Nearby, you can take a quick boat ride to Devin Castle for even more breathtaking views. Bratislava is a perfect blend of medieval charm and modern vibes, and it’s super easy to explore by foot! 🏰🌊☕

Cardiff POI’s 🇬🇧
#uktrip
I spent a fantastic few days exploring Cardiff, and I must say, this city truly has something for everyone! 🏰 From the moment I arrived, I was taken by the mix of historic and modern vibes. My first stop was Cardiff Castle, right in the city center. For a £14 entrance fee, I got to wander through the medieval keep, stroll along the Roman walls, and explore the Victorian Gothic mansion with its stunning interiors. The view from the top of the Norman keep is incredible—you can see the entire city and the surrounding countryside! 🏞️
Just a short walk away is Bute Park, a huge green space perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic by the River Taff. I loved wandering through the gardens, especially the Arboretum, which had some of the oldest trees in the city 🌳. The weather was perfect, so I rented a bike and cycled along the Taff Trail, a scenic route that offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle.
For a dose of culture, I headed to the Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. This area is buzzing with life, and the modern architecture is really impressive. I caught a performance at the Centre, but even if you don't go inside, the building itself is a must-see. 🏟️ The bay area is filled with restaurants, shops, and attractions like the Doctor Who Experience (for fellow fans, it’s a dream come true!). The sunset views over the bay are stunning, making it a perfect spot to end the day with a drink by the water. 🌅
Cardiff is a city where old meets new, with a vibrant cultural scene and so much history to explore. Whether you're into castles, parks, or just soaking up the lively atmosphere, this Welsh capital has it all! #trip #Cardiff #CastleViews #ButePark #CardiffBay #WelshAdventure
Osaka Castle 🏛️
#2024wish
Today just had a historic day exploring Osaka Castle! 🏯 For 600 JPY, the entrance fee was a bargain given that it allowed me to travel back in time into Japan’s wonderful legacy. 💰
The castle is a breathtaking view – with beautiful gardens surrounding it, this stands out as the exact balance of grace and power. The view from the top is amazing – you see Osaka’s skyline and feel how this castle was important for defense. 🌳🏰
Within, the museum displays samurai armor suits and weapons along with various artifacts to afford a glimpse into Japan’s feudal times. The interactive displays help keep the interest of history buffs and normal visitors as well. 🗡️🎎
Nishinomaru Garden is a beautiful place to walk around – especially in spring, when cherry blossoms create even more charm. 🌸
Nearby is Osaka-jo Hall which often holds events and the park around would be great for a picnic. There are food vendors near the castle where a passerby can pick up some fine street snacks after exploring. 🍡 #OsakaCastleAdventure #HistoricWonders #JapaneseHeritage #CastleViews

Udine is a beautiful coty in Italy 🇮🇹
#traveldiaries
I recently spent a day in Udine, Italy, and it was such a pleasant surprise! 🏛️ Tucked away in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, this small city offers a perfect mix of history, art, and relaxed Italian charm. The main square, Piazza della Libertà, is beautiful with its Venetian-style architecture and the Loggia del Lionello. I climbed up to the Castello di Udine, which costs around €7 to enter. From there, you get a panoramic view of the entire city and the surrounding mountains—well worth the visit!
Inside the castle, there’s a museum with art and historical artifacts, giving you a deeper understanding of the region’s rich past. Afterward, I wandered around the quiet streets, stopping at local cafes for a spritz and some delicious prosciutto. Nearby, you can visit the charming town of Cividale del Friuli or take a drive to the wine country of Collio for some wine tasting. Udine is perfect if you’re looking for an authentic Italian city that’s off the beaten path.
