Cataract Cruise Launceston, Tasmania
#celebratewithtrip
Found this cruise when we walked around in Launceston.
After departing from the terminal, you will cruise past the historical Kings Wharf, Seaport, and Launceston's delightful riverfront precinct. The highlight of the experience is then cruising into Launceston's spectacular Cataract Gorge, as you engage the Lady Launceton's unique silent electric drive function.
You can view the sheer cliffs from your comfortable seating, appreciate the unobstructed views on the multi-award winning 1890's style vessel. Whilst aboard the Lady Launceston, you can also enjoy the skipper's captivating commentary which surrounds the history and folklore of this fascinating area.
The fare was acceptable, $33 per person. Another experience in Launceston!

Cataract Gorge, Launceston
Great trip to Cataract Gorge. Took the chairlift which travels at appropriate speed, allowing you to take in the views around you and below. Be sure to wear covered shoes since your legs will be dangling in the air. We took the chair for both ways as we are travelling with seniors and it's very very very cold. You can also buy 1 way and then walk to the other side or walk back from the other side. It should be a very scenic walk and I would suggest that you buy 1 way and walk the other leg if you can. Since its winter now, be prepared to wear thick clothings or layer yourself up. A good day trip if you are visiting Launceston. #wintertime #cataractgorge #launceston #tasmania

Lavender farm Tours 179$
Tasmania is an island state in Australia. The lavender farm here is called Bridestowe lavender field, located about 50 km from Lauceston city, northeast of Tasmania.
Surprisingly beautiful lavender fields in Tasmania - Australia
The history of Bridestowe lavender field began when Mr. C.K Denny - a famous British perfume maker and his family moved to Lilydale, Tasmania - a place about 17 km from the current flower field. As a perfume manufacturer, Mr. Denny had long cherished the plan to turn this place into a flower field like in the French Alps and they set out to do it. The name of the flower field is Bridestowe after Mrs. Denny's hometown in England.
Mr. and Mrs. Denny's flower fields have soil and conditions similar to those in France. At that time, the lavender oil and perfume manufacturing industry was developing, demand was extremely high while raw materials were limited. In 1924, after successfully harvesting and distilling the first batch of lavender oil, Mr. Denny sent samples to London for testing. The results show that the quality of lavender essential oil in Tasmania is not inferior to the quality of essential oil in France. His family continued farming and in 1947 expanded lavender cultivation on a large scale.
In 1989, when Mr. Denny retired and the lavender field was sold to the Ravens family with a commitment to maintain the product and quality of lavender as under the Denny family's management. Therefore, up to now, Bridestowe lavender field has existed for more than 90 years.
Coming to Tasmania, there are not only giant lavender fields but also other interesting places such as: The Hartz Mountains national park with incredible alpine moors; Tasman Peninsula - witness of the colonial period of Australian history or Ben Lomond and Mount Mawson national parks. Wild nature and breathtaking landscapes will certainly make visitors love the beautiful Australian island of Tasmania.

The National Parks In Tassie & Lauceston
If you really love to climb and hike in national parks tasmania is the place to be! There are countless of world class heritage national parks with unblocked views from the top.
One place to be is the Freycinet National Park where this hike takes you all the way down to the white sand beaches at wine glass bay or it takes you all the way up to the top of the national park overlooking the wineglass Bay. Of course, this hike requires some fitness due to its many steps and elevation from the beach to the summit, but its doable if you take you time because the view is really worth it.
Also head to the town of Launceston where this is a Riverside city located north of the main town of hobart, and this is popular for its cataract Gorge with also features the many hikes and views and feels of the wilderness. If you are lucky, you can see some cute little wombats, Tassie devil's and even wallabies in the national park.

Scenic Hike At Cataract Gorge
Cataract Gorge is a very easy hike but it takes long to reach the end of the hike, approx about 2-3 hours return hike.
This is one of the premier tourist attractions in Launceston, Tasmania with the popular suspension bridge across the basin.
Cataract Gorge has many walking tracks which cater to everyone. The gorge provides a wonderful environment for a casual stroll, and also contains a wealth of more advanced tracks with great views that bushwalking enthusiasts are sure to appreciate. Walks like the Zig-zag track, Cataract walk and Bridge walk loop are casual, scenic walks just 5 mins from the CBD. There was a swimming pool there that seems to say its open online but when we went it was close, possibly due to the cold winter months.
Plan your trip here as there are couple of things to do and see. For example the Gorge cruise, dining, chairlift and if you are lucky you might see some wildlife in their natural habitat.
There is no entrance fee here and also parking is free. They have ample parking spaces so you do not need to worry but still recommended to go early.
