I couldn’t wait to go as I’d heard raving reviews from my friends about this restaurant, so I had to try it. My recent business trip to Dongguan was a pleasant surprise. I stayed near Shanmei metro station in Houjie town, a beautiful area with a wide selection of hotels. The streets were lined with vendors offering delicious local Chinese food, perfect for a quick and tasty bite. While my trip was primarily for work, I managed to squeeze in some sightseeing. The Opium War Museum, Songshan Lake, and Keyuan were all fascinating and historically significant. Dongguan also boasts a vibrant nightlife scene with numerous nightclubs and bars. Throughout my stay, I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the locals. My hotel, Atour Hotel, deserves special recognition. The staff, especially Chen Minmin at the reception desk, were incredibly helpful despite the language barrier. They went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Overall, my trip to Dongguan offered a perfect blend of business and leisure. I highly recommend this destination to anyone looking for a unique and enriching experience in China. Guys, When I tell you dongguan, what is the first thing you think about? Factory I guess? Dongguan is boring nothing to do … You are wrong 😉 This theme park is cool, with a lot of activity to play. I especially like the dinosaurs 🦕 place and the winter palace (you are in a cold room with snow inside 🥶) When you go there, I recommend to buy the full pass to not be out of tickets 🎫 and have to buy ticket again in the park because, each activity cost you some points. This Indian restaurant is located on Dongcheng Branch Road, next to Qifeng park. We got welcomed by the Indian Chef which was very nice but still we were a little not sure if the food will be good. As we where tired and very hungry 🤤 we made our order with a hope that everything will be good. So, I must say that the food was delicious 😍and we were very pleased, In terms of price wasn’t expensive at all we paid a little bit less then 300rmb but we left the restaurant full and satisfied. Dongguan is a small yet very beautiful city in Guangdong province of China. Yesterday I discovered the beauty of the city when I was wandering around. Even though Dongguan is an industrial city it is offering a lot of green spaces to it’s residents and visitors. The city is located next next to Guangzhou, basically between Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Huizhou. Huangqi Guanyin Ancient Temple - Shanmen, Dongguan. The particular reason to visit this place is the location of the temple, as it is located in Qifeng park in Dongguan. The Huangqi Guanyin Ancient Temple is at the foot of the mountain and it was built in the Song Dynasty and this actually demonstrates that it is was built more than one thousand years ago. To sum up everything that has been stated so far… it’s is a must visit place if you’ll be in Dongguan! Very beautiful and tells a lot about the history of the city. I've always been a big fan of sunsets, and I must say that sunsets 🌇 in southern part of China are fascinating 😍 just like this one I was enjoying yesterday. Personal for me, watching the end of the day - is the time when i like to spend alone. It is when I can go though all the things that happened during the day, analyze and try to memorize all the small and beautiful moments of the passing day. The fast that a lot of rooftop in China are open and all the residents can access is making me very happy and I almost always can go up and enjoy the beautiful colors of the sunset and be alone in my thoughts. Qifeng Park is located in the heart of Dongguan city, Huangqi Mountain and the park covers a decent area. It contains several natural and cultural landscapes such as mountain forest parks, artificial lakes, botanical gardens, Huangqi ancient temple, Huangqi mountain top lanterns, etc. A good place for tourists to go to understand the history of Dongguan. There is a Huangqi Mountain at an altitude of 189 metres in Qifeng Park. At the foot of the mountain is the Huangqi Guanyin Ancient Temple, where during the Spring Festival,I believe there is huge tide of tourists. An ancient well at the foot of the mountain, called "Lianquan", says - Drinking clean spring water can make people clean. Amazing park to visit 10/10! If you know where to go and what to do 😌 Pai Coffee & Whisky is an interesting place to spend time with friends. Good coffee and interesting area. It is located in Dongcheng Residential District. Address: Gaotian Fangjingmei Road No.9, Guotai Yunchuang Center Block 10, 101, Dongguan, Guangdong, China. I went there with one of my friends the other day and will definitely go again as I really liked it. If you go there then the Pai Coffee & Whisky will not be the only option for you. YISHAYCHENG - Is definitely one of the best places to eat in Dongguan. It is located in Guancheng Residential District Tianbao Road No.16 Juhan Building 3, 212, Dongguan, Guangdong province, China. If you are a foodie then go and give it a try, I am pretty sure you’ll not regret it. Decent menu with number of options to choose from. 👀 Introduction: Technically, you can walk🚶over to DongGuan from Shenzhen... Amazing!! The name Fenggang (凤岗) translates to "phoenix mound" in Chinese and it is a place often overlooked by tourists. It is a small place 82.5 sq km and a population 🧑🤝🧑 of only around 65,000 (one of the smallest I have seen in China 🇨🇳). Read on for more info ℹ️. Fun fact 💡: Fenggang Town was once a major producer of firecracker🧨🎇. ♥️ The Experience: Fenggang Town is now known more for its unique culture and beautiful natural scenery. In fact, the Hakka Mee 🍜 we tried here was really authentic, complete with garlic and chilli's which was quite surprising since it's not even a Hakka Town. The main attraction 🧲 here is really the Yitian Holiday Outlets (益田假日 奥特莱斯) which is spread across 2 blocks opposite one another. This is a must visit place for bargains 💵 with outlet brands such as Adidas, FILA, Hechter, Puma, Nike, Urban Revivo and also local brands like Anta and Li-Ning. Theres also a specialty store carrying more upmarket brands such as Alexander Wang and Bottega Veneta. Also do visit the Lake View side which is approx 300m from the outlet. There's a nice picnic/day-camping 🏕️ site here which is by the lake 🏖️. There's also many people fishing 🎣 here. We do also see a lot of BBQ happening here.. Yummy 😋. The lake is clean and beautiful too. During evening 🌃, there are also plenty of eateries and food stalls all around the area. 🔚 Conclusion: Was told that people staying here actually work in Shenzhen (esp Longgang) as this place offers a much lower rental 🏘️. We found that food 🍲 here is cheaper too, maybe by 20%. The landmark hotel 🏨 here is the Marriott chain - Aloft Hotel, which is interconnected to the outlet stores. Hotels 🏩 are substantially cheaper here too making it a good option for tourist visiting Longgang. #100waysoftravel #dongguan 👀 Introduction: DongGuan (东莞) is only about 90 km from Hong Kong and has a population 👬 of about 8.3m. It is also a famous hometown for many overseas Chinese. Some of the notable places 📌 are Yinxian Resort, Qifeng Park 🏞️, Keyuan Garden 🌸 and the Opium War Museum. Fun Fact ℹ️: DongGuan produces 20% of the world's smartphones 📱 and 10% of the world's footwear 👟. 🧭 The Experience: We reached DongGuan at noon 🕛 and was immedietly drawn to their famous Roasted Goose for lunch @ Yong Fat BBQ Restaurant (永發烧腊饭店) ~ which is highly rated here. We had their signature Roasted Goose and Braised Chicken 🐔 and Char Siu. Well if you have been to Yung Kee HK then this is nothing spectacular. Also their famous Fat Char Siu was actually too fat for our liking. We chose a hotel 🏨 that's centrally located near the Humen Yellow River Fashion City, Zhixin Park (虎门黄河时装城执信公园店) which was quite strategic but still quite a walk (approx 1.5km) to the more populous area such as Wanda Plaza 🛒. There are plenty of eateries 🍲 around the area and also McDonald's 🍔 on the opposite road. We then went to the Fashion 👖 Street @ HUMENZHAI Street (虎门寨) ShengYeJie which was filled with clothings, shoes and shops but we find 80% of the stuffs are catered for ladies. Stopped for dinner at Hong Kong Chicken (港叹鸡堡) near the BOTOU area (博头) inside a place called Creative Park (虎门寨创意园). Had their signature Shua Zhi 🐔 Hotpot (shredded chicken Hotpot) which was bad as the chicken 🐔 is hard and the soup is totally tasteless. We then cont'd our journey around the BOUTOU area but there wasn't much to check out here. 🔚 Conclusion: Despite the roaring reviews on DongGuan food 🍲, we actually didn't experience really good or spectacular food. In fact, we decided on Mcdonalds 🍔 for our supper instead. However, as a plus point food is much cheaper here compared to other cities. This place is really good if you are into unbranded clothings 👚 as there are just too many stores 🏬 with different variants and designs here to choose from. In fact, you can buy clothings here from wholesalers by the kg 🤩.
