[Cancun World Heritage Site] The ruins of the largest city of the Mayan civilization are overwhelming!
📍Chichén Itzá🇲🇽
Chichen Itza, a World Heritage Site🌳
The largest city ruins of the Mayan civilization left on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico🕵🏼♀️
This is an area that many people visit in combination with a trip to the popular resort city of Cancun, and it is possible to access it from Cancun on a day trip☺️✨
The main attraction is the magnificent pyramid, about 24 meters high and made up of nine floors‼ ︎It's very impressive when you see it up close😳🧡
Many ruins are scattered within the vast grounds, including the Temple of the Warriors and the Observatory‼ ︎
I went to arrive at around 8:30 in the morning, but there was still a long line to enter.
Many people come in groups, so if you want to take your time and enjoy the sights, it's recommended to go early in the morning‼ ︎✨
A recommended spot to stop by when you go to Cancun💚

📍Chichén Itzá Mexico 🇲🇽
Chichén Itzá was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period.#mexico#traveler #centralamerica #ChichénItzá #worldwide
One of the seven wonders of the world 🗺️ ⭐️
If visiting Yucatan’s part of Mexico, from Cancun to Tulum, Chichen Itza is a must stop! This ancient city is filled with a thousand years of history and it is just amazing.
Pro tip: get there early, right when they open (8am). You will avoid crowds (better photos and less people) and high temperatures (it gets super hot and humid).

Lifetime golden experience at Chichen Itza
Chichen Itza is a beautiful place, however the cost to enter the park should be added to the cost that is advertised. After book, $30 US dollar fee to enter the park. The National park itself was too hot. please wear light shirt or something more thin. Chichen Itza as we know is an ancient Maya city in Mexico that was abandoned in the 15th century. Now a UNESCO World Heritage-listed archaeological park, its intact temples, and famous stepped pyramids may be explored during this comprehensive guided tour, which tops off fun-filled history lessons with a visit to the colonial town of Valladolid and a swim in a sacred limestone waterhole. A savory buffet lunch is also included.
The lifetime experience was worth during my travel here. like people say ONCE IN A LIFETIME!! #chichenitza #mexico
Mind Blowing !!!
Definitely worth a visit. We stayed in Piste at the nice but inexpensive Hotel Puerto Chichen so we could be on site at opening. We parked in the small ruins car park for 80 pesos. Queues were forming when we arrived at 745 but once the gates opened it felt like we had the ruins to ourselves. Entrance fee was around 480 pesos per person - they take cards and pesos. Note you need to wear a mask to enter the site although no one kept their masks on once inside.
We didn’t take a guide but instead used a combination of the helpful displays and the internet to do a self guided tour. We enjoyed the freedom of being able to explore at our own pace. There are also plenty of traders but we found them to be fun and friendly and no hassle. The ruins are spectacular and worth a visit. We spent around 90 mins on site. #chichenitza #mexico #historicplace #ancient #history

❓ Did you know that Chichen Itza is one of the “New 7 Wonders of the World”?
ℹ️ One of the main reasons we went to the Yucatan Peninsula, was to visit this place. Chichen Itza is one of the “New 7 Wonders of the World” due to its large concentration of culturally-significant, ancient manmade wonders and is a must see.
Chichen Itza was founded by the Maya, an ancient people native to the Yucatan Peninsula built around 600-750 A.D. Today, the site is home to the remnants of many ancient Mayan structures, including the famous and most astonishing Mayan Ruin – the Chichen Itza Pyramid or El Castillo which dominates the landscape.

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) One of the seven wonders: Chichén Itzá.
Chichen Itza is one of the most important landmarks and tourist attractions of Yucatan. As this landmark is very far from the nearest city, you need to arrange private transportation to get there or buy a half day tour which is quite popular. This tour will arrange round trip transportation in comfortable buses. The temple is really well preserved and is a pleasure to see in person. Be aware of the number of people selling souvenirs, they are everywhere so you must be patient and constantly say no. This is an incredible experience for those who love history and culture.

My first Mayan experience - Chichen Itza
We stayed at #valladolid for the night and took the Collectivo at 8am to go to #ChichenItza to avoid the crowd from Cancun which usually arrives at 11am. It only took 45 mins and cost us Mex$40/pax. There are lockers for backpacks and luggages. Food from outside are not allowed, security will search your bag to make sure you are have no food in your bags. There are food stores in the Park selling food and beverages at a relatively reasonable price. I have to say my first Mayan civilization experience was very pleasant.
A nice boutique hotel with character @ Valladolid
A nice clean little boutique hotel with character at Valladolid. Just 20 mins walk from the bus station and Central Plaza. The entrance is a bit difficult to find though. The owner and all staff are friendly and helpful. An ideal place to stay for the night if you want to spend less time travelling to Chichen Itza the next morning and to beat the crowd that usually arrives from Cancun at 11ish. We took the van, Collectivo from #valladolid to #chichenitza at 8am and arrived there at 9ish, so had a good 2 hours before it got too crowded.
