Brunch at Le Jardin
#letsmakan Brunch at Le Jardin, the charming garden café in Singapore, was a delightful escape into nature right in the heart of the city. Nestled in the lush greenery of Fort Canning Park, the café offers a serene, open-air setting where you can enjoy your meal surrounded by beautiful plants and trees—an oasis away from the usual hustle and bustle.
The menu blends contemporary flavors with a hint of French elegance, so I also tried their signature smoked salmon croissant, which was perfectly flaky and packed with flavor. The café’s attention to detail in both presentation and taste made every dish feel like a small work of art.
Have a nice brunch
#letsmakan I started the morning at a cozy café in Tiong Bahru, surrounded by its iconic art deco architecture. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as I sipped on a perfectly crafted flat white, paired with a decadent croissant. I also couldn't resist trying the local kaya toast, with its sweet coconut jam spread on perfectly toasted bread, complemented by soft-boiled eggs and a dash of soy sauce—a simple but delicious combination.
The café had a warm, inviting atmosphere, with locals and expats alike enjoying their meals. As I looked out the window, I couldn't help but appreciate how Singapore blends tradition and modernity in its food scene. Brunch here isn't just about the food; it's about the experience—the flavors, the ambiance, and the vibrant energy of the city.
Delicious Greek Feast at Ela!
#letsmakan
I recently dined at Ela, nestled in Jalan Sultan, and was blown away by the authentic Greek flavors! The seafood platter and meat platter were absolute winners, with fresh, succulent portions that left me craving more. The pita dips, accompanied by warm, crispy bread, were addictive. Each dish was expertly prepared, showcasing the richness of Greek cuisine. The cozy ambiance and attentive service added to the delightful experience. Ela has earned a spot on my favorite restaurants list! If you're a Greek food enthusiast or just looking for a delicious meal, Ela is a must-visit.

There is always a super long queue for this!
In the heart of downtown Singapore, there is a very popular Korean barbecue restaurant, Um Yong Baek, that always has a really long queue! They specialize in premium cuts of meat and authentic Korean flavours.
The staff will barbecue the meats that you have ordered right in front of you, so you eat it straight off the grill. One of their famous dishes you have to try is the Busan-style dwaeji gukbap, basically Korean pork broth with rice. Prices aren’t cheap though, but it was worth the splurge!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

海鲜兄弟 in Johor Bahru: A Delight for 烧鱼 Enthusiasts
#letsmakan
Located in the bustling city of Johor Bahru, 海鲜兄弟 has carved out a niche for itself as a go-to destination for seafood lovers, particularly famous for its 烧鱼 (grilled fish). This casual dining spot combines the freshness of the sea with the smoky, charred flavors of traditional grilling techniques, offering a culinary experience that’s both authentic and satisfying.
Signature Grilled Fish Delight
海鲜兄弟’s 烧鱼 is celebrated for its perfect balance of spice and flavor. The fish, fresh and succulent, is marinated with a unique blend of herbs and spices before being grilled to perfection. The result is a dish that’s crispy on the outside yet tender and juicy on the inside, infused with a smoky richness that’s hard to resist.
A Vibrant, Welcoming Atmosphere
The atmosphere at 海鲜兄弟 is unpretentious and lively, with a decor that echoes the marine theme. The open kitchen allows diners to watch as their meals are expertly prepared, adding an element of entertainment to the dining experience. The staff are friendly and attentive, making everyone feel like part of the family.
More Than Just Fish
While the 烧鱼 is a must-try, 海鲜兄弟 also offers a wide variety of other seafood dishes, each prepared with the same attention to freshness and flavor. From spicy crab to garlic prawns, there’s something on the menu to satisfy every seafood craving.

Enjoy delicious food at Lau Pat Sa
#letsmakan
The place is too good for a food court, the building is unique. Here the food is very diverse, for those looking for delicious and cheap dishes, Lau Pa Sat can be a choice, many choices of food and drinks, there is also Balinese Taliwang chicken, there is also seafood including quite delicious, still suitable for my tongue. For the price is quite medium, the atmosphere here is also quite nice, and some small shops are open 24 hours. The average menu price is below SGD 10, just be careful for Muslims to check whether it is halal or not.

🇸🇬Restaurant w over 70 years history‼️i ate 🐢 here 🫢
📍Address:Tan Ser Seng Herbs Restaurant 陳生成山瑞补品
This restaurant opened in 1946!! I went here on a Tuesday night and it was FULL HOUSE!? They are popular for their turtle soup, ginseng black chicken soup and fish maw soup, i tried all items on their menu and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! i am usually not a fan of herbal soup because it usually taste v bitter but this was not the case for this restaurant! The broth was rich and actually tasted kind of sweet? I also love the chinese herbs flavor wasnt too overwhelming and was v palatable to my gen z tastebuds HAHA
i also tried turtle soup for the first time and it was actually surprisingly good!? The texture was v tender 👌 Other than the soups, the restaurant also sell side dishes, i highly highly recommend the caipo omelette and handmade prawn roll, both dishes were rlly good!

Maxwell Food Centre, popular for the Tian Tian Chicken Rice and more!
#letsmakan
Maxwell Food Centre is a very popular hawker centre near Chinatown. There are so many viral and highly rated stalls that sell different varieties of food from Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, scrambled egg on top of rice, goreng pisang, soya bean curd, pig organ soup, green chilli chicken rice, braised pork rice, oyster cake. I tried the char kway teow here, it was great!
Newton Food Centre - The Iconic Hawker Centre featured in popular movie Crazy Rich Asians
#letsmakan
Newton Food Centre- More popularly recognized as the spot from The Crazy Rich Asians is also the one of the first hawker centres in Singapore designed and built like a garden setting to match Singapore’s identity as a ‘garden city’. The food centre has a wide variety of local cuisines. I liked the Sambal Stingray the most with Cereal Prawns. We had chilli crabs, satay and otah too.
Experience Singapore’s melting pot dining culture
Singapore is known for its foodie culture, having a wide variety of cuisine types anywhere in the country. One of my favourite spots that serves Japanese cuisine is called Menya Musashi in Takashimaya shopping centre! It is conveniently located near the Orchard train station, connected via an underpass.
Situated at basement level 1, this restaurant has a menu with classic Japanese favourites like fried rice, ramen and dumplings. The prices are slightly expensive but for a meal at a shopping mall, can be considered affordable.
Their most popular dish is the rich black tsukemen so that’s definitely a must-try. I tried the garlic fried rice and it was very fragrant and well-cooked, with a fairly strong punch of garlic which I enjoyed.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

unqiue cafe
I absolutely love the atmosphere and the coffee here. My favourite coffee are the Nitro Anti Matter and White Cold Brew. The Kouign Amann, Papa's Breakfast, and Scrambled Eggs on Croissant are also fantastic!
It appears they update their main dishes periodically, which keeps things interesting. Be prepared for a queue on weekends, as it can get quite crowded. Definitely one of the good options to makan in Singapore.

Best food court @ Sg
The bustling environment is full of energy, making it a great spot to immerse yourself in the local food culture. I decided to try the famous Hainanese chicken rice, which is a must-try dish at Maxwell. The chicken was tender and flavorful, served with fragrant rice and accompanied by a delicious chili sauce. It lived up to its reputation and was definitely one of the highlights of my meal.
I also sampled some dumplings and satay skewers from other stalls, both of which were equally delightful. The seating area is spacious, but it can get quite crowded, especially during lunch hours. I recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. The communal seating adds to the lively atmosphere, allowing you to chat with fellow diners and share recommendations.

lovely place for food
I have been here thrice before, once for a coffee, once for a terrible tiramisu and once for a quick breakfast. However, I finally decided to head over for dinner with a friend. The restaurant has a very funky decor with a table in the shape of a car as well as a bar counter crammed with all sorts of knick knacks. We skipped appetizers and ordered a grilled chicken with cranberry sauce and fries while my friend ordered the fish also served with fries and a dip.
The chicken was ok with the cranberry sauce not quite going well with it. The fish was cooked well but nothing was too outstanding. I ordered a yuzu soda, which was refreshing, though. I have tried their desserts before, though I was horrified to know they freeze their premade tiramisu and then serve it, which is as good as a block of ice cream.

The spicy, flavorful chili crab and barbecued stingray are local delicacies that keep me coming back. The lively ambiance and the high quality of food make it an essential stop for anyone craving authentic Singaporean street food.
3. Satay by the Bay - Located near the picturesque Gardens by the Bay, Satay by the Bay offers a scenic dining experience. It’s a great place to enjoy satay and other local snacks while basking in the view of the waterfront. The relaxed, open-air setting is perfect for a leisurely meal after exploring the nearby attractions.

Green Environment Nice place enjoying coffee @The Baboon House
This place is located at jonker street area and it's a really nice place for taking photos ☺️and sitting down chill with some drinks.
I order some drinks that sound like they sound cool Shakerako (means ice espresso) Normally i won't drink ice coffee but in the melaka the weather is super hot until i need some cold drink to cold down my body.
Other than that I also order some coconut ice cream for my kids, this ice cream is a lot of things at the top which I do not really like , those who like nuts or coconut shredded maybe you will enjoy it.
Ginger lemon beer taste it's so ginger if you do not pour on the ice cup. It's got Abit alcoholic inside.
So Muslim cannot order this.

absolute Shiok!
There are too many hawker stalls here that are worth visiting. Over the years it has become very popular but somehow the prices are still ressonable. Too many good stalls to name. But a few items I will usually go for:
1. Porridge
2. Nasi Lemak
3. Kway Chap
4. Rojak
5. Nam Sing Hokkien mee
In the past year alone, we already made 3 trips, so that says something. Our journey requires almost an hour train ride and bus ride. There are too many stalls worth mentioning that serves great food. Handmade pao, curry puff, chee cheong fun, lor mee, hokkien mee, western, char kway teow, Roast Paradise, minced pork bro, fried oyster, fish soup, kopi and toast, chendol.

Singaporean Eat
If you wish to try a Singaporean food experience which ofcourse if a Mish mash or several influences. But all that in a comfortable setting without the charm of the hawker stall heat, smells and crowd. The coconut club can be a fantastic spot. Although I'm somewhat critical of the rendang after a recent visit. I mean it was great food and service with one big exception.
Their fried chicken with Rampung crumbs is excellent ( Ayam Goreng Berempah moist and a bit of roasted crumbs adds a lot of flavor) as is their green beans.Cute arrangement of their plate of appetizers. The only downside was their beef rendang. The flavor of beef rendang was spot on but their meat was very low quality and chunks of fat which you find out only when you bite into it. So for the price they offer beef rendang was not a good deal.
