Saalfelden: A Soulful Journey in a Mountain Gem
When I first heard the name Saalfelden, it ignited a spark of adventure in my heart. This is a small town located in the state of Salzburg, Austria, nestled at the foot of the picturesque Alps, surrounded by spectacular natural scenery. On this trip, I looked forward to experiencing the natural beauty and local culture here.
Arriving in Saalfelden
The first rays of morning sunlight shone through the curtains, illuminating my room. I dragged my sleepy body, eager to step out and embrace nature. As soon as I stepped into the town, the fresh air instantly woke me up. The streets of Saalfelden are clean and quiet, with a unique Alpine charm in the architectural style. The roofs are covered with thick snow, and everything around seems to silently tell the story of this land.
I first came to the town's central square, the social heart of Saalfelden, surrounded by numerous cafes and shops. I sat down in a locally characteristic cafe, ordered an authentic Austrian coffee paired with a homemade apple pie. The fragrant apple pie made me feel the warmth of home. Sitting by the window, watching the passersby, and feeling the nostalgic and cozy atmosphere of the town, I couldn't help but smile.
Exploring the Mountains
After breakfast, I couldn't wait to explore this natural treasure. So I signed up for a mountain hiking group, aiming to head to the famous Leogang Mountains. Along the winding mountain road, I happily chatted with friends from all over the world, and everyone was full of anticipation for this journey.
As we ventured deeper into the mountains, towering trees and majestic peaks gradually appeared before us. The surrounding scenery was incredibly magnificent, deeply captivating my gaze. Clear streams flowed through the mountains, accompanied by the crisp sound of water, as if serenading our journey. Along the way, the guide occasionally told us about the history and natural features of these mountains, making me cherish this land even more.
Reaching the summit, the mountain wind greeted us with a slight chill, striking the soul. The breathtaking view before me left me in awe. The continuous mountain ranges resembled a magnificent painting, with the blue sky and white clouds complementing each other, bringing joy to the heart. At that moment, all worries seemed to vanish, leaving only peace and emotion in my heart.
Immersing in Local Culture
After descending the mountain, I decided to delve into the culture of Saalfelden. The town has many charming museums, one of which is dedicated to introducing local culture and history. There, I saw many precious historical artifacts that not only showcased the past of this land but also told the lifestyle and traditional crafts of the local people.
I particularly enjoyed the display of local handicrafts, including weaving and wood carving. The artisans' skillful hands endowed each piece with unique vitality. In a conversation with an elderly craftsman, I learned that his family had been engaged in this traditional craft for generations. His eyes sparkled with love for his craft and dedication to life, deeply touching my heart.
The Beauty of the Countryside - Exploring the Natural and Artistic Charm of Ansfelden.
When people think of Austrian cities, they usually think of internationally renowned tourist destinations like Vienna and Salzburg. However, in the rural areas of Austria, there is a small town that is equally worth exploring - Ansfelden. Although this city is not as famous as others, it boasts stunning natural landscapes and a rich artistic atmosphere. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this place and spent an unforgettable time in this lush countryside.
Arriving in Ansfelden
It took less than 30 minutes by train from Vienna to reach Ansfelden. As soon as I got off the train, I was greeted by a charming little town surrounded by green fields. I walked along the spacious streets, with shop windows on both sides filled with a strong rural flavor. The pedestrians smiled and greeted each other, giving the whole city a warm and cozy atmosphere.
Entering the old town, I began to feel the deep historical heritage here. The winding alleys, lined with historic buildings, made me feel as if I were in a medieval European town. I strolled along the cobblestone roads, admiring the exquisite architecture and curiously exploring their past stories. Occasionally, local residents passed by, nodding warmly to me, making me feel the unique human touch of this place.
Immersed in Rural Nature
After experiencing the long history and culture of Ansfelden, I decided to explore its most charming side - its natural scenery. As a rural city, Ansfelden has a wealth of beautiful natural resources.
First, I visited a park near the city center. The park was lush with greenery and fragrant grass, like a green paradise. I walked along the winding paths, breathing in the fresh and pleasant air, feeling my soul purified at that moment. Occasionally, children played on the lawn, or residents sat leisurely under the trees, all exuding a tranquil and pleasant demeanor. This beautiful picture of rural life made me deeply feel the unique lifestyle here.
Leaving the city, I came to a farm on the outskirts of Ansfelden. The vast fields stretched as far as the eye could see, with golden waves of wheat swaying in the wind, like a moving pastoral scene. I walked along the paths, mesmerized by the scenery before me. At that moment, the sound of cowbells and the singing of farm women came from afar, adding a strong pastoral flavor. I felt as if I had traveled through time, personally experiencing a beautiful pastoral life.
Finally, I arrived at a poetic lake. The lake's water was sparkling, reflecting the surrounding green mountains and trees, exceptionally beautiful. I sat on a bench by the lake, quietly admiring the scenery. Occasionally, a bird flew by, causing ripples on the lake, like a natural work of art. The tranquility and peace here calmed my heart, seemingly able to wash away all my worries.
In this lush countryside, I deeply felt the unique charm of Ansfelden. Not only does it have magnificent natural landscapes, but it also presented me with an elegant and leisurely lifestyle. As a small town combining urban and rural elements, it expanded my understanding of Austrian cities and opened my eyes.
Tasting Local Delicacies
After fully appreciating the natural charm of Ansfelden, I naturally had to taste the local delicacies. This rural city also has its unique culinary culture.
First, I visited a cozy country restaurant and tasted the famous 'Kasnockn.' This is a classic Austrian country dish made mainly of potatoes and cheese. With one bite, I tasted the rich layers of potato chunks wrapped in creamy cheese, with an irresistible aroma. As I chewed, I couldn't help but marvel at how this rustic dish perfectly reflected the characteristics of rural life here. The simple environment made me feel as if I were dining at my grandparents' house.
Another day, I visited a specialty bakery and tasted the renowned 'Bauernkrapfen.' This is a delicate Austrian country dessert, with a crispy crust filled with rich cream and berry filling. With a gentle bite, the crispy exterior and soft interior, combined with the sweet and rich filling, instantly evoked childhood memories. Enjoying it in such a leisurely rural environment made me feel the long-standing cultural context of Ansfelden.
Additionally, I visited a small craft brewery and tasted various flavors of beer they brewed themselves. Using high-quality local ingredients and traditional craftsmanship, they produced rich and mellow beers. The most memorable was a golden wheat beer with a faint malt aroma, refreshing and unique. Tasting these authentic local delicacies and drinks, I not only appreciated their deliciousness but also felt the rich rural cultural heritage of this small town.
Immersed in Artistic Oasis
Besides the captivating natural scenery and enticing local delicacies, Ansfelden also has a cultural and artistic haven that is mesmerizing. This was undoubtedly another highlight of my trip.
First, I visited the renowned local art center. It gathered works from top artists worldwide, including paintings, sculptures, installations, and more. The most impressive was a giant sculpture made of natural materials. It was composed of piles of wood and stones, exuding a strong natural atmosphere. I gazed at it for a long time, feeling the artist's environmental message. Every artwork here was themed on nature, fully integrating the city's rural beauty, leaving me in awe.
Besides visual arts, I also had the opportunity to attend a folk music concert hosted by local artists. The performers, dressed in traditional costumes, played melodious tunes with various ancient folk instruments. The music, rich in rural flavor, seemed to transcend time, conveying the long-standing cultural memories of this small town. Listening to music in such a close-to-nature environment stirred an indescribable emotion in my heart.
Another day, I participated in a unique handicraft workshop. Under the guidance of the instructor, I learned to use natural materials like wood and clay to create a unique craft. The entire creative process was filled with fun and challenges, allowing me to experience the charm of handicrafts firsthand. When the final product was presented, the joy and pride I felt made me appreciate the ingenuity behind each artwork even more. This cultural experience left a deep impression on me regarding Ansfelden's artistic endeavors.
Reluctant Farewell
Time flew by, and I was about to board the train back. As I looked back at the receding figure of Ansfelden, a wave of indescribable reluctance surged in my heart.
This small town undoubtedly gave me many beautiful memories. From the stunning natural scenery to the rich cultural and artistic atmosphere, and the warm and tranquil lifestyle, every aspect captivated me. It is the perfect blend of these elements that creates the unparalleled charm of Ansfelden.
Here, I not only experienced the natural beauty of the green countryside but also immersed myself in the rich pastoral culture. Whether walking along the shady paths of the park or listening to the distant sound of cowbells, the tranquil and serene feeling left a lasting impression. This place allowed me to temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of the city and reconnect with the most genuine emotions and values of life.
At the same time, the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Ansfelden also made me linger. The excellent artworks that incorporated natural elements and the folk music with a strong rural flavor amazed me. I deeply admired the city's emphasis on cultural endeavors and the artists' love and interpretation of their hometown's nature.
As I bid farewell, I looked at the small town once more, feeling a wave of reluctance. I believe that the beauty bestowed by nature and the rich cultural heritage will forever remain in my heart, becoming precious memories of my life. One day, I will surely visit Ansfelden again to relive the tranquil, elegant, and artistic charm of the city.

A Warm Journey in the City of Steel - Exploring the Charming Kapfenberg
We often associate Austria with its enchanting landscapes and ancient culture, but this beautiful country also boasts many vibrant and industrial cities. Among them, Kapfenberg, located in the central part of the country, is a popular destination worth visiting. As an important steel production center, this city also blends natural beauty, rich history, and the warm culture of the locals. I recently had the privilege of visiting here and spent an unforgettable time.
Arriving in Kapfenberg
Taking a two-hour train ride from Vienna, I arrived in Kapfenberg. The scenery outside the train window captivated me - the rural landscapes along the way formed a charming natural painting. My gaze was fixed on a towering castle on a hill, the soul of the town - the famous Kapfenberg Castle.
Getting off the train, I eagerly headed towards the castle. Along the way, I passed a lively market square surrounded by shops and bustling with people. I admired the unique Baroque architecture, feeling as if I had traveled back in time. As I got closer to the castle standing on the hilltop, it exuded a strong historical charm.
Castle Exploration
Entering the gates of Kapfenberg Castle, I immediately felt the rich historical atmosphere. This ancient castle, built in the 13th century, witnessed the rise and fall of the Astoria family over centuries. Walking along the winding paths inside the castle, the stone bricks underfoot were filled with historical imprints. The old walls and towers were arranged in an orderly manner, showcasing its former grandeur and majesty.
Inside the castle, I visited various rooms and exhibition halls. The first thing that caught my eye was an impressive armory, displaying various medieval weapons and armor, sparking my imagination. Then, I came to the lord's bedroom and the ceremonial hall, feeling the scenes of the lord's life and events.
The most unforgettable part was climbing to the highest tower of the castle. I stepped onto the narrow spiral staircase, my steps difficult but excited. Reaching the top, the view suddenly opened up - the entire Kapfenberg city was in full view, with the rolling mountains in the distance forming a magnificent natural painting. I marveled at this grand scenery, feeling the castle's importance as a vantage point for defense and surveillance.
Immersed in this solemn and majestic ancient castle, I couldn't help but imagine the life of the castle's owner in the past. I felt as if I had traveled through time, experiencing the historical atmosphere firsthand. I was deeply immersed until I reluctantly left.
Experiencing Industrial Culture
After exploring the historical castle, I decided to further understand the city's industrial culture - after all, Kapfenberg is an important steel industry center in Austria.
I first visited the famous local steel museum. It showcased the long history and rich achievements of Kapfenberg's steel industry. I watched demonstrations of various manufacturing processes, witnessing how steel is processed from ore. The most memorable part was a model of a giant blast furnace, simulating the internal workings of the furnace.
With the guide's explanation, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenging steelmaking process. I couldn't help but admire the people working here, who created brilliant industrial achievements through their hard work. This visit not only enhanced my understanding of Kapfenberg's history but also inspired a new appreciation for industrial civilization.
Besides the museum, I also visited an operating steel plant. Under strict safety measures, I was able to enter the workshop and observe the entire steel production process up close. The dazzling sparks, the roaring machines, and the intense heat of the smelting - all of this opened my eyes. More importantly, I saw the hardworking workers here, who forged the brilliance of Kapfenberg's industry with their sweat.
Throughout the visit, I felt the pride of Kapfenberg's people in their industrial tradition. They were well-versed in the history of the steel industry here and took pride in it. This love and pride for their hometown undoubtedly became my deepest impression of this city.
Immersing in Nature
Although Kapfenberg is known for its industry, it also boasts breathtaking natural scenery. After exploring the rich industrial culture, I decided to seek a moment of tranquility in the surrounding nature.
I first visited the park in the city center of Kapfenberg. It was planted with various trees and flowers, lush and green, like a small paradise in a valley. I strolled through it, enjoying the fresh and pleasant air, with the melodious chirping of birds in my ears. The occasional passersby smiled warmly, giving me a friendly feeling. This was undoubtedly a quiet and comfortable oasis in the city.
Leaving the park, I continued towards the suburbs and finally reached the mountainous area around Kapfenberg. The lush forests seemed like a green natural fortress. I hiked along the winding paths, gazing at the surrounding cliffs and peaks, feeling the endless charm of nature. Occasionally, I would see eagles soaring in the blue sky and white clouds. This experience of immersing in nature made me feel incredibly relaxed and at ease.
Finally, I came to a waterfall. The white waterfall flowed down like a silver river, splashing into the green pond below. I sat on a rock, admiring this moving natural scene, listening to the sound of the water, and feeling the power of nature. The chirping of birds and insects in my ears made me feel like I was in a paradise, forgetting the hustle and bustle of the city. This was undoubtedly a luxurious gift from nature to humanity.
Tasting Local Flavors
After exploring the history, culture, and natural scenery of Kapfenberg, I couldn't miss its delicious cuisine. This industrial town is also known for its unique local flavors.
First, I went to a cozy family restaurant to taste the famous local dish "Kaiserschmarrn." This is a soft and delicious shredded pancake that originated in Austria, sweet but not greasy. The friendly staff explained that the dish was named after an Austrian emperor who loved it. One bite, and I was immediately captivated by its soft and fluffy texture and elegant milky aroma. Paired with fresh fruits and powdered sugar, this lunch left a lingering taste in my mouth.
Another day, I visited a delicate dessert shop to taste the unique "Kärntner Reindling." This is a typical Austrian country dessert, made with a bread base and sweet dried fruit filling. I loved its chewy texture and rich fruit aroma, with a taste that was just right, neither too sweet nor losing the original flavor of the ingredients.
Additionally, I visited a small brewery to taste their craft beer. Using high-quality local barley and hops, they brewed various uniquely flavored beers with traditional craftsmanship. I particularly liked a beer made with Austrian wild roses, fresh and refreshing, with a lingering aftertaste. Listening to the brewer's explanation and their passion for fine wine, I felt the strong affection of Kapfenberg's people for their hometown.
These local specialties undoubtedly added to my deep impression of Kapfenberg. Not only did they enrich my taste experience, but they also helped me better understand the city's cultural heritage. I left with a strong sense of nostalgia, looking forward to the day I could return to this charming city.
Unforgettable City Experience
In the blink of an eye, my exploration of Kapfenberg had come to an end. But the beautiful memories left here will forever be etched in my heart.
From the ancient castle to the vibrant industrial culture, to the breathtaking natural scenery, Kapfenberg is undoubtedly a city full of charm. Whether visiting museums, admiring waterfalls, or tasting local delicacies, every moment left me with unforgettable experiences. More importantly, the warm and friendly locals made me feel a strong sense of human care, as if I were in a warm family.
Although time flies, I believe these beautiful memories will always accompany me. When I recall the moments in Kapfenberg, my heart will be filled with an indescribable warmth and emotion. 桂林冬季輕奢之旅 Day 4 (Part 2 - 象鼻山、愛情島及日月雙塔)
The hotel driver and butler took us to Jinkeng Dazhai, but after waiting for half an hour, we couldn't get a car. In the end, we had to hire a car from a small shop in the Jinkeng Dazhai parking lot at a price beyond our budget to return to Guilin City. Although the price of the hired car exceeded our budget, the driver from the local shop was exceptionally familiar with the route. He drove fast and steadily, which made me feel a bit more at ease, as I was worried about the dangerous mountain roads. The driver took two hours to complete a three-hour journey and safely delivered us to the No. 2 entrance of Elephant Trunk Hill Park.
Elephant Trunk Hill, also known as Elephant Hill, gets its name from the Water Moon Cave in the mountain, which makes it look like an elephant drinking water with its trunk. The Elephant Hill Scenic Area is rated as one of China's 5A national scenic spots, and the park is free to enter. Elephant Hill Park has three entrances, and the information we gathered told us that the No. 2 entrance is the closest to the best viewing spot of Elephant Hill, so we chose this entrance. The number of tourists at the No. 2 entrance of Elephant Hill Park was quite large for winter, at least more than what we saw in Yangshuo and Longsheng. We passed through the entrance, walked down a flight of stairs, and immediately saw Elephant Hill in front of us. We quickly took out our phones to take photos among the crowd. Then, we discovered a China Post Elephant Hill Scenic Area-themed post office below the No. 2 entrance. Inside, we found many beautiful postcards printed with the scenic spots of Guilin (including Elephant Trunk Hill), some of which were even better looking than those outside, and there was a buy-three-get-one-free offer. Some postcards included postage, and you could send them directly from the post office after purchasing. The post office also sold other exquisite souvenirs such as fridge magnets and puzzles. I chose four postcards to buy as souvenirs and gifts.
Next, we crossed a small bridge to reach Love Island. Love Island was formed in 1983 when the Guilin city government dredged the Lijiang River and piled up the silt to create the island. Due to its beautiful environment, many couples came to the island for dates, hoping that the "Elephant Hill Water Moon" would be a witness to their love, and that they would eventually become a couple. Today, we can see many love-themed installations on Love Island, including human statues and railings where couples can hang love locks. My spouse and I only took photos in front of the installations and didn't hang a love lock. I wonder if our love will also heat up a few degrees?
After leaving Love Island, we headed to the Sun and Moon Pagodas Park. The two scenic spots are quite close, about a five-minute walk. We arrived at the shore of Gui Lake, one of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes, where the Sun and Moon Pagodas are located. The Sun Pagoda is a copper pagoda with nine floors, and the Moon Pagoda is a glazed pagoda with seven floors. The two pagodas are connected by a more than 10-meter-long underwater tunnel. The Sun and Moon Pagodas were originally two Buddhist pagodas from the Tang Dynasty, and were rebuilt in 2001 to become the underground palace museum we see today. From the pagodas, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes in Guilin: to the east is Zhiyin Terrace; to the south is Shanhu Small Square; to the west are Yang Bridge, Glass Bridge, Beidou Bridge, and Ancient Banyan Twin Bridges; and to the north is Sun and Moon Bay. We didn't enter the pagodas, only taking distant photos of their beauty. Knowing that the pagodas light up every night—the Sun Pagoda with orange-yellow lights and the Moon Pagoda with blue lights—we decided to come back after dinner to enjoy their night view.
In the next post, I will share our great dinner experience and photos of the mesmerizing night view of the Sun and Moon Pagodas. Stay tuned.
Guilin Winter Luxury Trip Day 3 (Part 3 - Xiatirui Scenic Hotel)
After viewing the terraces at Jinfo Peak, we decided to stay overnight at a hotel in Longsheng that offers continued views of the terraces. After careful selection, we chose Xiatirui Scenic Hotel, and later realized we made the right choice. This was the best hotel of our trip.
We met the hotel driver and butler at the Jinhuang Dazhai parking lot and set off for the hotel. The mountain road to the hotel was steeper and had more curves than expected, but the driver and butler were very familiar with driving on this road, which made us feel more at ease.
After about a 20-minute drive, we arrived at the hotel. The scenery was even more beautiful than we imagined. The hotel is adjacent to the No. 1 and No. 2 terrace viewing platforms, with the terraces within easy reach. The driver and butler drove directly to the hotel parking lot, and the hotel also has an elevator, so we didn't have to carry our luggage up the stairs, saving us a lot of effort. The room not only had smart voice-controlled furniture but also a balcony with a close-up view of the beautiful terraces. The hotel's lobby has a vintage design that is both tasteful and unique, making dining there a pleasant experience.
We arrived at the hotel early (around 3 pm), and after resting in our room for a while, we went out to continue enjoying and photographing the surrounding terraces.
For dinner, we chose chicken, but since two people couldn't finish a whole chicken in one meal, the butler suggested we save half for lunch the next day, which we thought was very considerate. We also ordered beef, which seemed to be cut against the grain, but the meat was still tender and flavorful. The wild vegetables, grown by the hotel, were very fresh.
However, the nearly perfect hotel had one small flaw - the butler informed us that the entire scenic area would have a power outage at 7 am the next day. At that time, there would be no hot water for washing, and we wouldn't be able to use the bathroom in the room, as it was electrically operated. Additionally, with the temperature dropping to as low as 3 degrees Celsius over the next two days, we were worried that without heating, the room would be very cold. So we decided to go to bed early and get up early to wash the next day.
As a result, I overslept the next day...
To be continued.
Guilin Winter Luxury Trip Day 3 (Part 2 - Local Day Tour: Huangluo Red Yao Village, Jinkeng Dazhai Cableway, Jinfo Peak)
After the driver from Yangshuo dropped us off in Guilin, we switched to another car driven by a driver who also served as our guide, and began our local day tour. After picking up the other group members, we set off for Longsheng.
The journey to Longsheng involved going up and down the mountains with many winding roads. Although I was a bit sleepy from waking up early, I couldn't relax and kept my eyes on the road, fearing an accident if I let my guard down. Fortunately, the driver-guide was familiar with the mountain roads and drove skillfully. After more than two hours of careful driving, we arrived at our first stop — Huangluo Red Yao Village.
Huangluo Red Yao Village is known for its long-haired women, with the longest hair reaching two to three meters. To learn about their hair care secrets, we visited the technology building where the staff provided detailed explanations, broadening our knowledge. Afterwards, my spouse and I strolled around the village, walked through the Tongxin Corridor and Fengyu Bridge, and took photos by the river, enjoying ourselves.
After spending an hour in the village, we headed to the next stop: a restaurant recommended by our driver-guide where we could taste authentic local dishes. As soon as we got off the car, we saw a lady grilling bamboo chicken and bamboo rice in front of the restaurant, which was quite charming. We shared a table with some friendly group members and enjoyed a flavorful lunch.
After the meal, we set off for the highlight of the trip: Jinkeng Dazhai Cableway and Jinfo Peak. After about a half-hour drive, we arrived at the Jinkeng Dazhai parking lot, the cableway station at the foot of Jinfo Peak. After getting our tickets, we eagerly boarded the cable car.
We were fortunate that the weather was good that day, with no rain. Even after the winter harvest, the terraced fields remained magnificent. From the cable car, we had a panoramic view of the Jinkeng terraces covering the entire mountain. I was so captivated by the scenery that I couldn't stop taking photos, almost forgetting my fear of heights. Upon reaching Jinfo Peak, the view was even more breathtaking. However, due to my fear of heights, I didn't dare to get too close to the edge to take photos. Luckily, there was an observation deck about one story high on the mountain. From there, I could get closer to the railing and take pictures of the terraces. I had always wanted to see the terraces in person, and that day, my wish finally came true. It was truly worth the trip, and I hope to visit again in summer or autumn when the terraces are at their most beautiful.
After spending some time on the mountain, we reluctantly took the cable car back down and met up with the driver-guide at the parking lot.
In the next post, I will introduce the best hotel of this trip — Xiati Ruijing Hotel. Stay tuned.
桂林冬季輕奢之旅 Day 2 (Part 2 - 世外桃源、富里穚及遇龍河邊田園旅拍)
On the second day, we arrived in Yangshuo. After disembarking at the pier, we met up with Mr. Liao, our pre-booked photographer and driver-guide, and began our journey in Yangshuo.
Our first stop was Shangri-La. Upon arrival, the staff quickly arranged for us to board a small boat. The guide on the boat was very knowledgeable and provided detailed explanations throughout the trip. As the boat entered the narrow waterway, we could feel the passage was "initially very narrow, barely passable," but after a while, it "suddenly opened up." The terrain here closely matches the idyllic landscape described by Tao Yuanming in his "Peach Blossom Spring," which is why the developers named it "Shangri-La." Sitting on the boat and admiring the scenery, one can easily imagine the feelings of Tao Yuanming at that time. Additionally, we saw some ethnic performers singing and dancing along the waterway, adding more color to our journey.
After leaving Shangri-La, a 20-minute drive brought us to the Yulong River Scenic Area to visit Fuli Bridge. Fuli Bridge is located upstream of the Yulong River. It is a single-arch stone structure built during the Ming Dynasty, with a history of over 500 years. This is the only undeveloped free scenic area in Yangshuo. The semicircular bridge and its reflection in the water form a perfect circle, resembling a full moon. Perhaps due to its beautiful design and long history, I found it particularly enchanting.
After visiting two attractions, it was almost 4 PM, so we immediately set off for a photoshoot near the Yulong River. Mr. Liao first drove to pick up the pre-prepared balloon props and then took us to a hotel that rented electric cars. After my partner learned to drive, we set off for the photoshoot.
Our shooting locations included small paths, countryside fields, and a section of the Yulong River. We drove and walked. Mr. Liao used a drone and professional camera to capture the beautiful Yangshuo landscape and our memories. This was my birthday gift to myself this year, a memorable one. Special thanks to my partner for enduring the cold weather to drive and to Mr. Liao for his dedicated and meticulous photography and editing.
Since we received all the raw footage, we can continue to enjoy editing and color grading it ourselves after we return home!
After the shoot, Mr. Liao drove us to our hotel in Yangshuo, concluding our second day's journey.
In the next post, I will share our hotel experience on the second night. Stay tuned.

Aston Kaanapali Shores Hotel on Maui Island
The Aston room was absolutely perfect, and it smelled very clean when we walked in. Loved the kitchen and the available washer and dryer.
The sunset view from our balcony was spectacular. We requested extra pillows and blankets for the hidden bed. I would not hesitate to return here. The gym requires an additional fee ($7/day), the hotel restaurant is overpriced and mediocre but convenient, and the convenience store has many options at reasonable prices.
The front desk was very helpful every time we had a question. The pool and hot tub were great. Also, there was no noise from other rooms. It was the off-season, but it looks like the building is well-constructed.
