Big Ben and London eye
My London trip 🇬🇧#london #londontrip #travel
Review of London Eye and Big Ben
Visiting the London Eye and Big Ben was an unforgettable experience! These iconic landmarks truly capture the essence of London.
London Eye:
The London Eye offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The 30-minute ride in the glass capsules allowed me to spot famous landmarks like the Shard, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and even Windsor Castle on a clear day! The ride was smooth, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I highly recommend going just before sunset for a magical view as the city lights come alive. The only downside was the long queue, so booking tickets in advance is a must.
Big Ben:
Big Ben is as majestic in person as it appears in photos. The intricate Gothic architecture of the clock tower (now known as the Elizabeth Tower) is awe-inspiring. Hearing the chimes in real life was a special moment that added to the charm. While you can’t go inside unless you’re a UK resident, it’s still a perfect spot for stunning photos, especially at night when the tower is illuminated.
Overall:
Both landmarks are must-visit attractions when in London. They are conveniently located near each other, making it easy to explore both in one trip. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, these sights never fail to impress!
London | Newly opened Sichuan food near Angel
After work on a weekday, I went to Angel with friends for dinner, and this Chinese restaurant absolutely wowed me. Even though I can’t handle spicy food, I loved their chili oil dishes!
Salt and Pepper Squid 🦑
The squid was incredibly fragrant. Stir-fried with onions and green peppers, it was full of flavor.
Refreshing Mushrooms
The addition of cilantro was a perfect touch, and the mushrooms were so smooth and tender.
Mouthwatering Chicken
Served with bamboo shoots at the bottom and enhanced with fragrant chili oil, the chicken was tender and not tough at all – absolutely amazing!
Grilled Fish
The fish was freshly fried to a crispy crust with a tender inside. Paired with broccoli, lotus root, yuba, and other veggies, the flavors layered beautifully, making it perfect with rice.
Average Price Per Person: £30-40 (flexible depending on your choices)

London - Sightseeing in 1hr only ✨⭐✨
#traveldiaries
The major landmarks of London! You can see all of them within an hour if you plan well. Unless you decide to spend more time around each place 😉 like for example extra time to take photos (guilty! I always take forever when I am taking photos), or if you decide to grab a ticket and inevitably you'll spend more time.
💜 London Eye - Get off station Waterloo, but don't be alarmed as that station is massive and has multiple exists. If you follow the signs for London Eye, you can't miss them, you'll get out of the correct exit. The walk towards the attraction should not be longer than 10 minutes although if it is crowded, and usually it is during peak times it might take you a bit longer. Make sure if you wanna go on the ride, it will be cheaper if you buy your tickets in advance.
💜 Big Ben - The famous clock in London. Good news, after six years of the clock being under restoration, it is finally opened to the public since 2023. It takes only ten minutes walk from London Eye, cannot miss the clock!
💜 Westminster's Abbey - Five minutes away from Big Ben. Myself personally have not been inside and I regret not going in whilst I had the chance. Therefore, do not make the same mistake. If you feel like you wanna visit something and see it, you should!
If you don't stop for pictures and don't enter the landmarks, actually you'll be done in less than an hour. But where is the fun in that?

Stepping into the Past: Tower of London
If you're a history enthusiast like me, the Tower of London is a must-visit. Walking through this ancient fortress, built in 1078, felt like stepping back in time to the medieval era. The site is rich with stories of kings, queens, and nobles, along with the famous legend of the ravens believed to protect the tower. If you're into mysterious tales, you'll love this part of the experience.
Another unmissable highlight is seeing the Crown Jewels and the royal treasures of England. The grandeur of these artifacts kept me in awe the entire time. Don't forget to book a tour with the Beefeaters, the knowledgeable guides who know every corner of the tower and share thrilling stories. For anyone visiting London, the Tower of London is a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the city's history and beauty.

Step Back in Time:Natural History Museum
Visiting the Natural History Museum in London was an amazing experience, especially the dinosaur zone, which was my favorite! The giant dinosaur skeleton in the main hall makes you feel like you've stepped into prehistoric times. The fossils and exhibits were both informative and deeply impressive.
Besides the dinosaur zone, the Earth Hall is also worth exploring, with its enormous blue whale skeleton showcasing the majesty of nature. The museum offers fun activities for kids, and admission is free. I recommend arriving early to avoid the crowds, and don't forget to check out the gift shop!

London Calling 🇬🇧
Have you ever been to London? If it’s your first time, you can’t miss The Tower of London!
The Tower of London is a castle on the bank of the river Thames. It is one of England’s most iconic structures and famous monument. While you visit the Tower, you will see the ravens that are not able to fly. In fact the most famous legends of the Tower sorrounds the ravens: if they leave the Tower, both it and the Kingdom of England will fall. The ravens are taken care by a dedicated Yeoman Warder called the Ravenmaster.
The Yeomen Warders and their families live inside the Tower.
Inside the Tower you can visit The Crown Jewels, a magnificent collection of gemstones of the Royal family.

Tower Bridge,London’s Must see Landmark.
Tower Bridge is one of 🏴London’s most iconic landmarks, blending Victorian engineering with modern-day marvels. As you walk across the bridge, take a moment to admire the breathtaking views of the River Thames and the city’s skyline. But the real magic lies inside—visiting the Tower Bridge Exhibition allows you to explore the history of this architectural wonder, walk along the high-level glass floor, and get a unique perspective of London from 42 meters above the river. Don’t miss the engine rooms, where you can see the original steam engines that once powered the bridge.
To visit, the entrance fee is around £12.50 for adults, with discounts available for children, students, and seniors. The nearest underground station is Tower Hill, just a short walk away, making it easily accessible. For the best experience, plan your visit in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy uninterrupted views. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just looking to capture some incredible photos, Tower Bridge offers an experience that is both educational and unforgettable.

The British Museum:History’s Treasure
If you ever find yourself in 🏴London, make sure to stop by 🏛️The British Museum—it's a history lover’s paradise! The best part? It’s completely free to enter. As soon as you step inside, you’re transported into a world of ancient civilizations, from Greece and Rome to long-lost empires.
My favorite section has to be the Egyptian Gallery. It's absolutely mesmerizing! From well-preserved mummies to priceless artifacts, you get a real sense of the grandeur and complexity of ancient Egyptian civilization. You could easily lose track of time as you explore—every corner is filled with history and wonder!
To get to The British Museum via the London 🚇Underground, take the Central Line (🔴red) to the Holborn Station. From there, it's just a short walk to the museum. Alternatively, you can also take the Piccadilly Line (🔵dark blue) to Russell Square Station, which is a bit closer to the museum entrance. Both routes are convenient and well-signed.

I recently returned from a 20-day trip to London, and I'm still reeling from the experience. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a treat. The city's iconic landmarks, world-class museums, and vibrant culture made me feel like I was in the heart of Europe.
My trip began with a flight from Singapore to Heathrow Airport, which cost me around $600. After arriving, I took the Tube (London's metro system) to my hotel in Covent Garden, which cost around $10. My hotel was centrally located, making it easy to explore the city.
For the next few days, I explored the city using the efficient public transportation system, which cost around $3 per ride. Here are some of the top places I visited:
- Buckingham Palace: $30 entrance fee (I watched the Changing of the Guard ceremony)
- The British Museum: free entrance, but donations welcome (I spent hours exploring the ancient artifacts)
- The National Gallery: free entrance, but guided tours cost $20 (I saw works by Van Gogh, Monet, and Leonardo da Vinci)
- The Tower of London: $25 entrance fee (I saw the Crown Jewels and the Yeoman Warders)
- Westminster Abbey: $20 entrance fee (I attended a service and saw the graves of famous Britons)
- Camden Market: free entrance, but shopping and food were a must-experience (I tried traditional British street food)
I also took a day trip to Oxford, which cost around $50 for a return train ticket. I visited the famous University of Oxford and saw the iconic Bodleian Library.
The food in London was incredible, and I had some of the best meals of my life. A traditional English breakfast at a local café cost around $15, while a Michelin-starred dinner cost around $100. I also tried fish and chips, bangers and mash, and a full English tea.
Here's a breakdown of my expenses:
- Flights: $600
- Train fare: $100
- Accommodation (7 nights): $1,000
- Food and drink: $600
- Transportation (Tube, etc.): $50
- Activities and entrance fees: $250
- Total: $2,600
I would highly recommend London to anyone looking for a cultural and historical experience. The city has something for everyone, and I can't wait to go back."

London | Michelin Starred restaurant in Michelin House
Claude Bosi at Bibendum, Michelin House
📍81 Fulham Rd, Chelsea, London SW3 6RD
Last weekend, I went to a two-star Michelin restaurant in Chelsea. The overall feel of this restaurant is very "proud to be a Michelin restaurant." Michelin decorations can be found on the walls, glass, bookshelves, and corners, exuding an air of elegance and luxury, with a hint of Chinese style.
I was very fortunate to have the cod main course this time, and the sommelier recommended a 2015 wine from the USA. (It was actually the first time I had a USA wine recommended to me at a Michelin-starred restaurant, which was quite surprising.) I was a bit apprehensive before drinking it, but the taste was truly subtle and delicious.
The wine is from Gran Moraine Winery, located in the sub-region of Yamhill-Carlton in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. This winery primarily grows Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, and I had the classic Gran Moraine Chardonnay dry white wine (Gran Moraine Chardonnay, Yamhill-Carlton, USA). The design of the glass concentrated the aroma, and even before tasting, I could already appreciate its wonderful scent. The wine itself was light-bodied, with distinct flavors of lemon, grapefruit, apple, and pear, with the fruitiness being particularly pronounced.
If you visit London, please don’t miss this brilliant restaurant.
