The Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware is a Declared Monument inside the Hong Kong Park. Construction for the Flagstaff House completed in 1846, and it is the oldest surviving western styled building in Hong Kong. When it began its first chapter, the Flagstaff House was named the Headquarters House. Its first occupant was Major-General Goerge Charles D’Aguilar, whose name is now borne by Cape D’Aguilar and the D’Aguilar Lighthouse. As the Commander of British Troops in China, D’Aguilar was a military officer when he arrived in Hong Kong in 1843. In 1844, he was appointed the Leutenant Governor of Hong Kong, and the Headquarter House was built specifically as his residence. In 1932, the building was renamed the Flagstaff House, but it served as the residence of the Commander of British Forces until 1978. During the Japanese Occupation years, the Japanese imperial forces also used it as the residence for its military commander in Hong Kong. The beautiful building became the Museum of Tea Ware in 1984. In 1991, when the Hong Kong Park opened, the Museum of Tea Ware became the classy resident in the well-landscaped public garden. Since 1984, the Flagstaff House has become the Museum of Tea Ware with donated exhibits from the collection of Dr. Kwee Seong Lo, the founder of Vitasoy. Afterward, I treated myself to a highly recommended Michelin Guide biryani spot in Singapore, Bismillah Biryani. And wow, it was worth every bite. The area is quiet and away from the city noise. I loved the atmosphere of the cafe. It's dimply lit and people are mindful of their voices. I enjoyed the simple yet effective decor in building a relaxing atmosphere to accompany your tea experience. I ordered the iced kyoho grape oolong and speculoos cheesecake. I liked my orders. The aroma of the grape is strong and the cheescake went well with my tea. While i knew that thailand has a strong fascination for Japanese and in the last decade or so Korean culture. I didn't expect such passion and dediction towards matcha and japanese tea in Phuket. Ryn has a good variety of high quality green tea to choose from and now also serves some coffee to service those who do not drink tea just to balance out the customers who come in groups. The desserts are also good and their new added menu is gelato: green tea, hojicha and genmaicha. This was amongst the largest of tea varieties offered on the menu. The barista was patient to explain their various offerings. The place is small but not too crowded. A new British tea and cake shop opened right on Ho Xuan Huong street. The front of the shop is lovely with dark blue tones. In addition, the shop has a small set of tables and chairs right in front of the front so people can sit and watch the street while enjoying a small afternoon tea. The space inside is small with two floors. Personally, I find the folding tables and chairs a bit sparse, but overall I still find the space quite cozy and suitable for sitting with friends. The restaurant is small, not many seats, and if it's crowded on a busy day, it can be quite noisy. The decor is neat, the space smells of candles and essential oils I ordered a Latte and a Burnt Cheese Cake and found it suitable and delicious. Because it is a tea and cake shop, there are many different types of cakes and especially Scones - I will definitely try Scones here next time I come back. Wait a moment, no more than 10 minutes. I got Cheese Cream Grape Jun Mu Dan Tea instead. 🍇 #Oh, it's really delicious. 🍇 When eating, take it slow. Try the creamy, smooth, and soft cheese cream on top first. It's a little salty, creamy, and a little sweet. It's really delicious. Then, poke the straw all the way in. Suck it up from the bottom to each layer. The oolong tea is very fragrant and distinct. However, some of the ice flakes are still not finely ground. This part is sweeter than the others. The last layer is juicy grapes, lots and lots of them, in pieces. You can chew on it and it's sweet and fragrant. We ordered sweet (50%). It's not a little sweet (for us). Prices start from 70 baht to 155 baht. There are also general coffee menus and coffee mixed with tea. They have almost 20 types of tea to choose from, but the signature ones are Orange Jasmine Tea. And 2 cream cheese teas, strawberry, mango and grape. They also have bakery items starting at 45 baht. Try their signature Purple Sweet Potato & Toro with egg yolk Btead. It's generally delicious. We had such a splendin garden themed afternoon tea at Oasis Bar and Restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui. The whole atmosphere and ambiance was beautifully decorated with vines, leaves, flowers and butterflies. The seating was comfortable and great for friends to gather and have tea together. They even had swinging chairs for great photo ops. The set consisted of both sweet and savory, the sweets were decadently tasty and savories deliciously palatable.
