Trip Moments Recommendations
Step back in time visiting Zhouzhuang Ancient town
Visiting China’s number one water town was definitely a must see on my 3 day trip to Suzhou
Definitely worth the 1.5 hour trip to and from!
It was nice to have some time to take photos before everyone arrived.. my ticket was for 7.30am-12pm and though I was rushing to arrive early, most shops didn't open until around 9am so don't recommend arriving so early unless you'd like to take photos with no people around
🗓️Itinerary Scheduling: I think this could possibly be a better view/experience in the afternoon/night time if you get the chance.. And l'd say half a day there is enough time to view!
🕰️ Business Hours: 7.30am to 8pm Year round
📍 Address: No.43, Quanfu Road, Zhouzhuang Town,
Kunshan City
🚉 Metro line 4 to Tongli Station and 25 minute DiDi ride ($10-15AUD one way)
💸 Average Price P/P : $21AUD (Children and seniors free)
🍛 Food and drink: Plenty of places to eat at and drink in the town including local snacks and drinks and also sit down rest and deserts, I recommend a visit for breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner!

2 Days in Beijing, China - See historic temples, gardens and the beauty of Chinese culture.
#voyagevibes
Wrap your scarf around and zip up your jacket. It’s autumn in Northern China. The streets are filled with vendors selling sweet apples and hot potatoes. Along the streets the trees are changing colour.
We find ourselves at Beihai Park. This local attraction is home to many ancient temples and pavilions used centuries ago by royal members. Step into the gate at sunrise. Transport back in time to when nature could sing lullabies.
Sometime later, we are under the warm sun at the Palace museum. Ladies in traditional fashion are seen walking along the river side. Their beauty and aromatic perfumes drift on the autumn breeze.
As the sun sets the shadows are seen dances on the walls. Trees in the garden play like shadow puppeteers. A myriad of leaves cover the red walls.
Beijing plays a song of mysteries. The ancient architecture has a language of its own. Careful contemplation could reveal it, but are you still enough to notice these nuances ?
✈️ 🗺️ 📍
Visit Beijing from September - November for golden leaves and cool breeze. Visit the central attractions all in just 2 days. Entry Tickets are low cost and affordable for big groups. 🎟️

#chinatrip #hengdianworldstudios #EliteTravel #hangzhou #travelchina
When I set foot in Hengdian World Studios in Hangzhou, I felt like I had stepped into a world where history and fantasy intertwine seamlessly. Known as the “Hollywood of the East,” this sprawling film set is where cinematic magic comes alive. My personal highlight? The majestic Qin Palace Scenic Area. Walking through its grand halls and courtyards, I couldn’t help but relive iconic scenes from my favorite dramas like The Legend of Qin and Nirvana in Fire. The authenticity and grandeur of the set made me feel as if I had traveled back in time to ancient China.
Hengdian doesn’t stop there; the Dreamlike Valley Scenic Area is a theme park that offers thrills and spectacles. From breathtaking water shows to roller coasters, it’s a place that balances history with pure fun.
After indulging in the cinematic allure, I journeyed to the serene West Lake, the heart of Hangzhou’s beauty. A leisurely boat ride across its tranquil waters, surrounded by weeping willows and mist-covered hills, was nothing short of poetic. Strolling along the Su Causeway, I marveled at the harmony between man and nature that defines this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tips for Your Visit:

2️⃣ Visit West Lake at sunrise or sunset for the most magical views.
3️⃣ Don’t miss the chance to try Hangzhou’s local delicacies, like Longjing shrimp and Dongpo pork, to round off the experience.

Anchang Ancient Town: A Festive Heaven of Tradition and Flavour
Anchang Ancient Town is one of the most vibrant and authentic old towns in our hearts. Located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, it is famous for its festive atmosphere and is known as the 'New Year's Goods Town.' The ancient streets of Anchang are built along the river, lined with traditional blue-brick, grey-tiled buildings, exuding the unique charm of the Jiangnan water towns. Its handicrafts and local delicacies attract visitors from all directions, especially in the twelfth lunar month when people flock here to shop for the New Year. The most popular goods include soy-sauce duck, preserved meat, and sausages, with every shop displaying rows of cured foods, filling the air with an enticing aroma. Traditional crafts like sugar figurine-making, soy sauce production, and rice wine brewing continue to this day, adding to the town’s strong festive spirit and lively atmosphere. As the New Year approaches, the streets and river paths are bustling with people busy picking out goods, preparing for the holiday. Anchang Ancient Town is not only a tourist attraction but also a place filled with holiday spirit and the cultural essence of Jiangnan life. #bucketlist #Anchang #Jiangnan #shaoxing #travelchina
Beauty and Chaos: The Enchanting Yet Challenging Experience of Huangling's Harvest Festival
During my visit to Huangling to witness the traditional shai qiu, where villagers dry crops like chili peppers and corn on wooden racks, I found the scenery enchanting, with colorful displays against the backdrop of rustic, ancient houses. This picturesque village, accessible only by cable car, is renowned as one of the most beautiful villages in China. However, the experience was marred by the overwhelming presence of tour groups and some disappointing behavior from certain visitors. I saw several elderly tourists cutting in line to take photos, sparking arguments, and even shouting loudly in the peaceful setting. Despite its beauty, Huangling exposed an uncivilized side of local tourism that detracted from the charm of this unique cultural tradition.

You can’t miss Yunnan Ethnic Village in Kunming
#traveldiaries
Nestled in the heart of Kunming, Yunnan Ethnic Village is a gem waiting to be discovered. This cultural park showcases the rich tapestry of Yunnan’s 26 ethnic groups, making it a must-see spot for any traveler.
Why go? Well, it’s a deep dive into diverse traditions and lifestyles, all in one picturesque locale.
As you wander through the village, you’ll be greeted by vibrant, colorful architecture, each area representing different ethnic groups. Think intricate wooden houses, stunning pagodas, and quaint bridges spanning serene water bodies. It’s like stepping into a living postcard.
Don’t miss on scheduled performances by various villages, the timetable is available at the entrance.
This area is vast, so expect to spend 2-4h for a quality visit and chance to visit most of the minority groups. There are plenty of food options and bathrooms on sight to make the visit very comfortable. You can also opt in for a ride around the park to save time, but I’d say, walking is much more fun and will allow you to get lost amidst colorful alleys and discover hidden sights.
The best time to visit? Spring and autumn are your go-to seasons. The weather is pleasant, with blooming flowers or crisp air to enhance your experience. Avoid the summer rains and winter chills for the best visit.
Yunnan Ethnic Village is conveniently located at Dianchi National Tourism Resort in the south of Kunming. It's easy to access by public transport or a quick taxi ride from the city center.
The ticket price is quite reasonable, making it accessible for most travelers. Expect to pay around 90 CNY for a standard adult ticket. Discounts are available for students and seniors, so be sure to bring your ID.

Unwind in Luxury: A Must-Try Spa Experience at Manxiangzhe Holiday, Zhengzhou
#spas #100waysoftravel #travelchina #zhengzhou
One of the must-do experiences when visiting Zhengzhou is a visit to Manxiangzhe Holiday, a comprehensive spa resort that offers a blend of hot spring baths, saunas, and swimming facilities. We spent half a day indulging in the spa and were impressed by the variety of offerings, from the free fruit and drink bars with over 30 choices to the relaxing themed rest rooms where we unwound after our treatments. While seafood buffets are available for lunch or dinner, we skipped that and simply enjoyed the serenity. On the third floor, guests can also try on traditional Chinese clothes and Hanfu for free, making it a great spot for photography, although we were too tired to take advantage of it after a long day of travel. It's an ideal place to recharge, though it can get extremely busy on weekends, as it's one of the top spa destinations in Zhengzhou.

🇨🇳A day trip in Dongjiao Memory, Chengdu
#solotrip
During my solo trip to Chengdu, I spent a day visiting 东郊记忆 (Dongjiao Memory). It was a captivating experience, blending urban exploration with moments of personal reflection. This transformed industrial area, now a vibrant cultural hub, perfectly caters to a leisurely day of exploration with its unique mix of history and modernity.
As I wandered through the revitalized factory buildings, now housing a variety of boutique shops and eateries, the area’s industrial past melded seamlessly with contemporary artistic elements, creating a photogenic backdrop for a solo adventurer.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Among the highlights was my visit to OldSpeakFactory, a café that stood out with its rustic, industrial décor and exceptional coffee. Enjoying a cup of their expertly crafted brew while soaking in the ambiance offered a perfect pause in my day. 🥰
The shopping at 东郊记忆 was equally rewarding. I explored Aerism, known for its minimalist apparel that merges traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern fashion trends. Another noteworthy stop was 江南先生, offering stylish and distinctly Chinese menswear. These stores not only provided a glimpse into the local fashion scene but also an opportunity to pick up unique pieces unlike anywhere else.
东郊记忆 is ideal for solo travelers seeking a blend of cultural immersion and personal space. The combination of historical architecture and modern lifestyle elements encourages you to take your time and enjoy each moment at your own pace.

Kayaking on Lugu Lake: Exploring the Waters in a Traditional Mosuo Pig Trough Boat
#kayak #100waysoftravel #yunnan #lugulake #luguhu #travelchina
One of the must-do activities at Lugu Lake is to kayak or take a traditional boat tour. Nestled on the border of Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, Lugu Lake is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, breathtaking mountainous backdrop, and cultural significance as the home of the Mosuo people, a minor ethnic group. The boats used on the lake are called pig trough boats, named for their resemblance to long pig troughs. These sturdy vessels are carved from openwork logs with sharpened ends, a unique tradition of the Mosuo people. While paddling in one of these boats can be challenging due to the heavy wooden paddles, the serene atmosphere of the lake makes the effort worthwhile. We visited in April and, unfortunately, missed the blooming season for 水性杨花 (aquatic poplar flowers), a special floating plant that graces the lake’s surface during the right time of year. Despite that, we enjoyed leisurely paddling across the tranquil water, taking in the picturesque views of the surrounding landscape. As the lake is quite expansive, we grew tired, and eventually, the boat master took over, guiding us back to shore. The entire experience was unforgettable, immersing us in the peaceful beauty of Lugu Lake and the Mosuo culture.
