• Walking trails are well-maintained, offering gorgeous views at every turn.
🌟 Things I Didn’t Like:

No trip to Nara is complete without visiting the Nara Park!
#japantrip #nara #narapark #japan #travel #thingstodo #myitinerary
Nara Park and the deer are probably the only reason for many to visit Nara. It takes approximately 1 hour from Osaka to Nara by car and many would do it for a day trip (we stayed in Nara for a night). The Nara Park is huge and would require a bit of walking so be prepared to dress up accordingly. As soon as you arrive at the Park, you will find the wild deer roaming around (with some begging for treats). Aside from that, you will probably smell an unpleasant animal manure stench. To complete your experience in Nara Park, grab a stack of Grain Crackers to feed the deer for 200Yen, but mind you- some deer will attack you so play smart. For us- we looked for the younger and clumsy ones and we were not attacked. We did witness some tourists being attacked (not seriously).
Walk to one end of the Nara Park and you will find Todai-Ji Temple- one of the largest wooden structure and famous temples in Japan. We did not get to explore further as the temple was due to close (we visited at around 4PM local time) but suggest to take some photos at the pond right in front of Todai-Ji.
Witness Blue Fin Tuna Cutting at Wakayama’s Kuroshio Market
#japantrip #wakayama #wakayamamarinacity #japan #kansai
Wakayama's Kuroshio Market is one of the must-visit places in Wakayama, the place is constantly thronged with tourists to check on the freshest Tuna (one of the leading Tuna ports in Japan lies within Wakayama Prefecture) as well as fresh seafood options. Visit the right time and you will get to witness the Tuna-Cutting show, it takes about 15 minutes and the fresh Tuna meat will be up for grabs. Visitors can purchase a piece of Chutoro and a piece of Otoro Sushi for 1,000Yen. We also took the opportunity to try some Seafood Don. The White Bait Fish Don is a local delicacy unique to Wakayama, it is typically enjoyed with Umeboshi. We tried that and it was not as delicious as compared to the usual Seafood so my recommendation- go for the usual ones, Tuna appears to be a wise option. If you are traveling on budget, go for the side cuts of Tuna Sashimi, they offer the same quality and satisfactions.
Right opposite to Kuroshio Market, there is a farmer's market where you get to find some local fresh produce. One particular item that you should try would be the Wakayama Black Sesame Persimmon (seasonal) which is peculiar in physical appearance (dark, sandy texture in the middle) but unbelievably sweet and tasty. We bought ours- a sizable and good quality at 500Yen each.

Super Affordable Michelin Lunch in Kyoto!!!
If you enjoy good, quality Japanese food, take the opportunity visit any of the Michelin-starred restaurants. The lunch Omakase or course menu would usually cost lesser than dinner. As for us, we took advantage of the cheaper lunch price- 8,000+Yen per pax
at Jiki Miyazawa (1 Michelin Star) Kaiseki Restaurant in Kyoto (walking distance from Nishiki Market). The 8-course Omakase lunch features highlights from the Japanese locally sourced produce and the Chefs speak basic English so there would not be any communication
issue. Super friendly and attentive service, as expected from a Michelin-starred establishment.

FOMO me booked a trip to JAPAN to see the Gundam
Just back from my third Japan trip (will share in a later post) however this got me reminiscing about my first time going to Japan.
I’m the typical tourist influenced by Japanese culture. Therefore I chose to go Japan after saving up enough from my paycheques 😂 + I saw that the Yokohama Gundam factory was going to close down, so FOMO me booked a trip immediately!!!
To summarise, I was excited, but also terrified because I had no idea how to travel Surprisingly, things were pretty simple, because the signs were in different languages.
For my first time here, I did what I would think of as the “Tourist bare minimum” which is to go to the sightseeing points that everybody is listing down online. I would say it’s a safe way to explore, especially when you don’t know a lot about how things work in another country.
PLACES I WENT
- Shinjuku (Kabuki-cho tower, ToHo cinemas - Godzilla head)
- Shibuya (Scramble, 109, Donki)
- Tokyo (Tokyo train station)
- Mount Fuji
- Kamakura
- Yokohama (Gundam factory)
I would suggest renting bicycles or scooters, especially in areas outside of the city because there is a lot of walking involved and waiting of buses. But do know that if you are renting in high human traffic areas, it will be a hassle to the locals as well as other pedestrians
ESSENTIALS:
- Power Bank
- Google maps
- CASH
- Physical credit/ debit
- Suica (in Apple wallet or physical ones)
Everyone advises that cash must be brought around everywhere because not all the businesses except cards. This is very true.
Another thing to note is that the businesses usually needs you to present a physical card for paying because they can’t do pay wave or tapping.

Magical illuminations & fireworks at Huis Ten Bosch
Huis Ten Bosch is an European themed park in Sasebo. It is easily accessible by the Huis Ten Bosch express liner from Hakata station. A night’s stay at the hotels on site is highly recommended to enjoy the fantastical illuminations after night falls.
As a theme park, it is more for relaxation and photo ops rather than rides. There are several VR rides and highly recommended are several Naked Inc. experiences. The outdoor activities ends by sunset, so plan to do those first if interested.
It is a good for families with younger kids who can take it easy, while mobile challenged seniors might find the vast space a bit of a challenge to transverse. There are plenty of F&B options within the park.
Check out the fireworks schedule on their website when planning your visit.

ไปหา Yellow Pumpkin ของคุณป้า Yayoi Kusama กัน 🟡⚫️
When we first saw the giant polka dot pumpkin by the sea, we thought we had to visit it!! This island doesn’t just have pumpkins. There are many art works and museums to visit. It can be called an island of art. You can easily travel to it from Osaka and you can visit it for a whole day. ☁️🚢☀️ Atmosphere ☀️- When we went to the island, we took a boat that cars can also take you up. The upper floor of the boat has a really great view. But if it’s cold, you can sit downstairs because the passenger cabins are luxurious and have the same view and a bathroom.- When you arrive on the island, you will see the red pumpkin first at the pier. It was a pleasure to take pictures.- Our next goal was to find the yellow pumpkin, which is on the other side of the island. So we had to continue our journey.🚲 There are 2 ways to get on the island. 🚲- Taking the bus: Walk into the Information center and ask for a map.- Cycling: We used this method, it was super chill. ,, When you leave the pier, you’ll see a shop across from the staff who speak very good English and gave great advice on both routes and cycling methods. 👍🏻💥 Attraction Point 💥- The main goal is the yellow pumpkin. Cycle according to the map. Or pin at Yellow Pumpkin,, When I got there, it felt like a dream come true, very happy, very lucky that there weren't many people, so we could take pictures for a long time. But the wind was strong, my hair was damaged, lol. - Museums or other works of art, you can look at the tourist map. There are recommended spots, you can go and collect them. There are both paid and free admission. 🔰 Recommendations 🔰 - Choose an electric bike, it saves a lot of energy. This is the secret of Japanese housewives! - Cycling here is very safe. Ride on the left. If there is a car coming, it will keep a distance from us. Don't be afraid that it is not safe. 🚃 Getting to the Island 🚃1) Take the Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka to Okayama Station 2) Take the train to Uno Station 3) Walk to the Miyanoura Pier to board the boat to Naoshima Island 🛎️ Costs 🛎️- Shinkansen and train tickets: We used the JR pass so we didn't have to pay extra.- Round-trip boat tickets to Naoshima Island: 570 yen per person- Electric bike rental fee: 880 yen per bike ⭐️ Score 100/10 Very chill

🦌 Oh deer! Looks like Nara just stole my heart😍♥️
Nara Park offers stunning beauty year-round. In spring, cherry blossoms 🌸 paint the park in shades of pink, while autumn brings vibrant hues of red and gold. 🍂🍁
One of Nara Park’s most beloved features is its population of over 1,000 free-roaming deer. Considered messengers of the gods in Shinto belief, these deer are a symbol of Nara and are protected as a national treasure.
Visitors can purchase special crackers, or “shika senbei” to feed them, experiencing the gentle curiosity of these friendly creatures. Many deer have even learned to bow politely in exchange for treats!😍
⏰Best time to visit: Early morning or late afternoon for fewer crowds and the chance to see deer more active.
Note📝: Be respectful to the deer and avoid teasing or feeding them inappropriate foods.

Overall, there are more deer than I expected. Traveling is convenient, you can take either Kintetsu or JR, then transfer to a bus or walk. The bus fare is the same for all routes, just tap your card when you get off at the front door. The dango wasn't very tasty. Shops open quite late, typical of Japan. Each spot is quite far from each other, so you should allow some extra time.
