Explore A MUST VISIT Attraction- National Palace Museum in Taipei
#thingstodo #Museum #taipei #travel #taiwan
The National Palace Museum in Taipei is a must-visit attraction. It houses the world's largest Chinese art collection. History buffs will appreciate its extensive artifacts. The museum offers affordable access to priceless cultural treasures.
If you love museums, please do not skip this place when you are in Taipei. Be prepared to spend at least half a day or more and remember to wear comfortable walking shoes. This museum is huge and the exhibits are very spaciously displayed across different levels. The theme of the exhibition is different every time I go there
The treasures on display are also different. Jade cabbage is currently in the National Palace Museum in Taipei.

Thanks to my friend for bringing me here. The Kuan Ge series that I have admired for so long, I finally unlocked it today in Taipei ✌🏻
Whether it's pasta, pizza or desserts, every dish here is amazing. This time I specially ordered #Homemade Shrimp Pasta. The taste is really rich. Shrimp lovers must not miss it! In addition, I was also impressed by the #ItalianpizzaSandwich. The crust is kiln-baked and wrapped in a wonderful combination of caprese salad and raw ham. The crust is very chewy and tastes great. I'm not sure about the base of #ICEBREW bubble tea, but it's refreshing and thirst-quenching. Every bite makes you feel the care and deliciousness of the food. push push

Quaint Charm of Taipei
#voyagevibes
When I visited Taiwan for a trip with friends, I immediately fell in love with the place. It feels like I'm looking at Taiwan through a filter. There's an old world feel even at the center and I've been wanting to come back and experience the feeling again.
We stayed at Ximending, just a few minutes walk away from the train station. The location is perfect for us since it's near the shopping district and there are food options around the area. We tried food that are recommended by our online researches. I loved the braised pork rice, the xiao long baos, and mango shaved ice we tried. We also went to the typical landmarks and tourist spots found in Taipei. My favorite probably is the Elephant Mountain because of the worthy Taipei 101 view but to be honest, I had a hard time climbing the steps to the viewpoints, my legs were sore and painful during the remaining days of our trip. Listed below are some of the places we visited in Taipei.
- Taipei 101
- Elephant Mountain
- Raohe Night Market
- Ximen Red House
- Lungshan Temple
- Huashan 1914 Creative Park
- Songshan Cultural & Creative Park
I will go back again for sure and experience what we missed during our trip before.

A Feast for the Senses: Exploring Raohe Night Market
I had the chance to explore Raohe Night Market in Taipei, and it was a feast for the senses. The market offered an incredible variety of street food, and we made sure to try some of its signature dishes. One highlight was the famous pepper pork buns—crispy on the outside, with a savory, juicy filling bursting with peppery flavor.
I also ventured into the world of stinky tofu, which was surprisingly enjoyable. Despite its strong aroma, it had a perfect balance of crispy exterior and soft interior. Another favorite was the sweet potato balls—golden, chewy, and just the right amount of sweetness to keep us going as we explored the market.
To cool off, I grabbed a papaya milk drink, which was both refreshing and rich, perfectly suiting the warm night. The experience wouldn't have been complete without indulging in some Taiwanese desserts—mochi with peanut powder and egg waffles topped the list of sweet treats we tried.
Raohe Night Market truly delivered an unforgettable culinary adventure. Whether you crave savory snacks or sugary delights, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as you stroll through this vibrant and lively market.

Epic Taipei!
As an architectural designer, I check out the landmarks throughout the architectural style. Taipei’s unique culture, mixed with history and modern vibes, gave me a different impression from any other trips to Asian cities I have ever been to. The architecture, the all-around design, and the style were well presented on a small to large scale in the city area. Finding some hidden gems while going around was very exciting, and the sudden appearance of the gigantic cityscapes was eye-catching. What a lovely city! I will definitely revisit it. #taipei #architecture #cityscape
Taiwan Travel Destination: Xiangshan Observation Deck
📍 No. 31, Alley 401, Lane 150, Section 5, Xinyi Rd, Xinyi District, Taipei City, Taiwan 110
Xiangshan, a popular destination in Taiwan, is a great place for a leisurely walk as it takes only about 40 minutes to an hour for a round trip, making it not too strenuous.
From the top of Xiangshan, you can get a direct view of Taipei 101, the landmark of Taipei.
While the view from the Taipei 101 Observatory is spectacular, the scenery of Taiwan from Xiangshan is also grand and impressive.
Since it's a hike, those visiting to see the night view should be cautious and ensure their safety.
Best Photo Spot for Views of Taipei 101 🏙️
📍 Songren Road, Taipei
The best photo spot for capturing Taipei 101 can be found tucked away in a small alley off Songren Road. This hidden gem offers a unique perspective of the iconic skyscraper, framed beautifully by the surrounding buildings. As I ventured down the alley, I was delighted by the tranquil atmosphere, contrasting with the bustling city nearby. The angle here showcases Taipei 101 in all its glory, especially during sunset when the sky paints a stunning backdrop. This quiet spot is perfect for capturing memorable photos away from the crowds, making it a must-visit for photography enthusiasts!

Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei 🎨
Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei is a fascinating blend of history and innovation. Once a tobacco factory, the park has been transformed into a vibrant creative hub featuring art galleries, design shops, and cafes. As I explored the beautifully restored buildings, I was captivated by the diverse exhibitions showcasing local artists and designers. The park often hosts workshops, markets, and cultural events, making it a lively spot for creativity. With its unique atmosphere and commitment to the arts, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is a must-visit destination in Taipei!

Traveling by Gondola
Traveling by gondola is really great. It's not too high, the atmosphere is nice, and you get a wide view. The food up there is reasonably priced, and the scenery is beautiful with plenty of photo spots. The gondola is comfortable, and the staff manage things quite well. The snacks are delicious, and the savory food has its own unique style. It doesn't take long, and there are 4 stations to stop at. The price is reasonable.
Miscanthus Blossom in Yangmingshan
We were fortunate to witness the Miscanthus in full bloom during our visit to Qingtiangang Grassland, located in Yangmingshan National Park, in December. The Miscanthus blossom in Yangmingshan is a beautiful seasonal event that typically occurs from late October to early December. During this time, vast fields of Miscanthus grass (also known as silver grass) bloom, covering the hillsides and creating a sea of soft, silvery-white plumes that sway gently in the wind.

Nature Meets Skyline: Explore Si-Shou Shan & Xiang Shan’s Hidden Trails
#closetonature #taipei #hiking #100waysoftravel #100種旅行方式 #101 #awesomepic
📍 Sightseeing: In the heart of Taipei, the hikes up Si-Shou Shan and Xiang Shan (Elephant Mountain) offered a refreshing escape into nature. Both mountains provided peaceful trails and lush greenery, perfect for unwinding while still close to the city. Xiang Shan’s famous viewing platform gave us unbeatable views of Taipei 101 towering over the skyline.
🚇 Transportation: Getting there was a breeze; we simply took the metro to Xiangshan Station and followed the well-marked paths toward the trailheads.
📷 Photo Spots: At the summit of Xiang Shan, the panoramic views were unbeatable, especially as the city lit up at dusk. A must-visit for stunning shots of Taipei 101 framed by nature. Si-Shou Shan also had hidden spots with sweeping views, perfect for some peaceful reflection.
🍜 Local Cuisine: After the hike, we ventured into the local food scene, enjoying a comforting bowl of beef noodles and sampling some of Taipei’s famous street food, including scallion pancakes.
🏨 Accommodation: We stayed at The Design’s Secret Lair CYTS Lobster, a chic boutique hotel in the city center, combining sleek design with a cozy ambiance—a great place to unwind after an adventurous day.
💡 Tips: For a seamless journey, take the metro to Xiangshan Station and plan your hike around sunset for the best views of Taipei 101. Pack water, wear good shoes, and don’t forget your camera!
A popular coffee spot
So fika cafe is pretty popular in taipei. We tried a one and one, which is a double espresso split into a shot and cortado/cap. Although it was not to my liking. The espresso did taste clean but felt watery, it should have had more body, maybe their house blend, more likely because they pull normal shots instead of ristretto. Or could it be that people prefer it that way?
The milk in the cap was steamed well with tight microfoam but the drink is overwhelmingly milky, I would have preferred a more espresso forward ratio. Next time I’ll try one of the pour over selections given their range of beans but overall not my favorite.

Flavour Explosions at Rao He Night Market
Rao He Street Night Market is my personal favourite night market in Taipei because of the variety and selection of local delicacy and street food there.
Address - Raohe St, Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 105
Highlights -
1. Yu Pin Yuan Iced and Hot Riceball
This is my favourite dessert in Taiwan, big riceballs lying on a bowl of shaved iced topped with osmanthus sauce.
2. Oyster Omelette
This omelette is delicious and contains oysters and vegetables. A savoury snack that is found in almost every other local store.
3. Fried Stinky Tofu
Stinky tofu is a must try, even though it smells stinky but it gets more fragrant when you eat it. It is served with picked vegetables
4. Fuzhou Shizu Pepper Cake
This is a michelin bib gourmand recommended store. Round pepper cakes are grilled in stone oven topped with sesame seeds. When you take a bite the juices from the meat squirts out nicely.
5. Dong Fa Hao Oyster Vermicelli

🐠 Xpark Aquarium Taoyuan
#aquarium #100WaysOfTravel
A newly open high tech aquarium at Taoyuan Taiwan (Address: No. 105, Chunde Rd, Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan 320) and open from 10am to 6pm. It is very near to Taoyuan airport and I visit here because I need to fly out early in the morning the next day. This aquarium is modelled after the Hakkeijima Sea Paradise in Yokohama. I have been there before in Yokohama for countdown at the aquarium. The newer aquariums are incorporated with immersive technology which allows visitors to get closer to the natural habitats. There are hands on activities too at this aquarium. I recommend buying tickets online and apply discount to come to this Xpark aquarium.

Quiet and charming
This was quite a big cafe with an extensive menu. They also had different sections of seatings. The setting is quiet and charming. It is located in the hopster neighbourhood of Da'an. Most of the drinks on the menu begin from 100 Taiwanese dollars onwards which makes it somewhat pricey.
But I think it will also be a very nice hangout or for lazy afternoons to catch up over coffee. We wer able to try a variety of their coffee, smoothie and some desserts. All of it were delightful. When in Taipei again, I will most likely stop by. I like these kind of calm vibed places.

A leisure tour around the island will be using the boat transportation mode at Da Dao Cheng Pier. It is the best way to sail on the Tamsui River. You also can sail on a hot day if the weather is good, no typhoon rain since there is shelter on the boat. There are many significant bridges along the route and heritage architecture along the way. You can also see many Ma Zu temples as She is the protector of the sea. If your time permits then choose the sunset cruise or take the package deal which come with drinks.

The most unique night market with yellow lanterns I encountered during my trip to Taipei.
Just a 30-minute metro ride from Taipei, you can experience a night market filled with a unique atmosphere of yellow lanterns.
📍Keelung Night Market
The main street of the night market is decorated with yellow lanterns, giving it a different vibe from any other night market in Taipei.
You can taste Keelung's unique snacks and shrimp wonton noodles, and enjoy seafood as it is a coastal town's night market.
Keelung also has unique travel spots like Heping Island Coastal Park and a sea swimming pool, making it worth a visit for a day!😀
old school
This wasn't planned. I didn't even know that it is a popular or well known amongst older places. ran into this place just walking around. I seems to be a small space and they have the line outside. There are markings on the floor. It was fairly quickly since it was a quick sit and drink.
It's a very old school sort of a place. I waited about 15 minutes for our coffee when we only ordered 2. And then we got some snacks and ordred something to eat as well. There was only 1 staff per section of the ground, such as the Brewer, waitress, roaster, and To-Go snacks. With orders piled up, the coffee brewer naturally had more load to carry than her speed could handle. Interesting experience overall.

Superb View
The view from this branch of Simple kaffa is extraordinary. It comes with a price tag of 500 Taiwanese dollars per Person. That works out to be about 15-16 usd per Person. The menu remains the same but things are a bit more pricier at this branch. There is registration required at the lobby downstairs. When we visited the wait on the first floor was around 20 minute.
At the price even if tour coffee is good, it affects the overall experience. The ice cream too was way over priced, but the view makes up for it. The area where you pick up your takeouts is a little small for photos and have to wait until other people take their photos. And photos are amongst the biggest reasons for a visit here. There are washrooms which are exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Best Tiramisu
This is a very well located cafe. I find myself coming back to ut for their tiramisu cake. I'm someone who like tiramusu and the idea of desserts so I have tried it in several places. I think yaboo does the best tiramisu in taipie. This was also a great place to chill or get some work done.
Their wifi is good and coffee was pretty decent. They have a lot of different options including liqueurs. Tea was amazing too, I don't drink a lot of tea but here I had one of the best I've had in the city. Food optoons were okay. In taiwan you are better off eating a world full of local dishes.

Top stuff
This is a fantastic spot. It is very popular and I'm told amongst the top 3 cafes in Taiwan. Now that means a lot of footfalls. Expensive menu too can be an issue. You see I was able to work a way around it. I went to them 3 days in a row. They have the best wifi for work but because they are crowded most of the times, it doesn't get noticed that much.
Come after lunch time on weekdays and the place is empty. That's how I killed 4-5 hours each day sucking up their wifi and lovely ambience. I did a number of cups during those 3 days and one time ventured into scones as well. But they are pricey. Having said so for coffee enthusiasts there is a huge variety, staff are polite and helpful. The vibe is nice and all the making of a solid cafe.

Beautiful hangout
This is a beautiful cafe with high ceilings and nice decor. It's got chandeliers, paintings and comfortable seating. I would say while not tje cheaper end, pricing is reasonable for this area and the quality of offering. One good thing is that they take digital wallets or line pay, which is very convinient.
It’s a good place to have quiet conversation with friens. They have outdoor seatings too, but I noticed it was occupied by people who were smoking. The menu is tensile with variety of drinks and alcoholic drinks too. Ours was a stop for some coffee and cake in the evening. Both those items very of very good quality.
