#myitinerary I recently went in Uzbekistan with my boyfriend and stayed 8 days. Here following the results of many months of researches, I hope it can be helpful: Day 1 - 2 Samarkand - Amir timur mausoleum - Registan square with its 3 madrasah, i suggest you to visit it after 5-6 PM for the sunset - Bibi khanym mosque - Syoob bazar - Hazrat mosque - Shah-I-zinda mausoleum In my opinion, the most beautiful one it is Shah-I-zinda mausoleum and the Registan is just breathtaking. *The names of the attractions could be a bit different due to differences of translation from the Cyrillic to Roman letters. If you have time you could visit also: - Tomb of Daniel - Ulubek observatory - Paper making factory - Pottery factory Day 3 Tashkent - Subway stations, they were mostly built during the Soviet time and you can feel it. All stops are decorated differently, the oldest ones and the most beautiful ones are on the red and blue lines. My favorite subway stations were: alisher navoi and kosmonatvlar - Eat Plov at Besh Qozon under the Tashkent Television Tower, you won’t regret it! - Chorsu bazar 🚂 🌜night train from Tashkent to Khiva - around 16-17 hours Day 4 Khiva The old city of Khiva is called Ichan Kala and is quite small and walkable. I suggest you to book your stay inside the city or just out of city walls. - Khuna ark - City wall - Tash kauli palace - Pahlavan Mahmoud mausoleum - Islam khodja minaret - Juma mosque FYI there’s one cumulative ticket for almost all museums and palaces/mosques in Ichan Kala. The price is 200k som. We had dinner at Old Terrassa, the food was amazing and the view very good. From the restaurant Terrassa, which is probably 100 meters more central than old Terrassa the view is very great! I recommend to book in advance the table outside. Day 5 - 6 Bukhara - Kalon minaret by night - Chor minor - Ulugh beh & abdulaziz khan madrassa - Ark of Bukhara - Bolo- Hausa mosque I recommend to eat in Old Bukhara restaurant, good food and environment. Day 7 Nurata - desert - swim in the Aydarl lake - stay in a local yurt or guesthouse The last day of activities we decided to go to Nurota and have a tour in desert and see the Ayrdal Lake, because in the whole trip it missed a bit of nature for us. We organized the whole trip with a tour guide, that came to Bukhara to pick us up and drove us in the desert and to lake. The lake is immense and clean. However, I could say this is one of the best trips in my life. #uzbekistan Uzbekistan is located in Central Asian, along with other -Stan countries. It is full of beautiful and historic sites, mausoleums, masjid, etc. Getting There - There might be a limited flights to the country, and the only direct flight (to Tashkent, the capital city) could be through Uzbekistan Airways. To get around in each city, you can use a ride-hailing app called Yandex, which is super cheap. Attractions - I would recommend 4 cities: Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. These should cover most key highlights within the country. Try it out yourself, and it will change how you think of Central Asia forever!!

Uzbekistan has many things to offer, ranging from Historical Architectures, to Diverse Culinaries. For those who love modern history, especially related to Soviet Union, this country has a treat for you. And one of them is the Tashkent Metro! This metro is not a regular metro like you see in other countries. Each metro station has a unique design to it, ranging from islamic geometric patterns to cosmonaut-themed station. Historically, this metro was built by Soviet Union after Tashkent severed a damaging earthquake in 1966, which led to destructions and casualties. Because of that severe damage, the Soviet Union rebuilt the cities from scratch. And therefore, it’s one of the most modern cities in Central Asia, and it resembled to cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg. For a one way ticket, it only cost around 2000 Uzbekistan Som (0.16 USD). Quite cheap right! You could take a stop and admire the beauty of each station. There are 3 lines and 29 stations to explore, but I highly recommend you to visit Alisher Navoy Station and Kosmonatvlar Station! Besides that you will admire those stations, you also could try the old soviet train that is still used up to this time. By doing this, you could feel how people in Soviet times commute back then. Getting There: ✈️ we arrived via flight from Istanbul, there are many international flights going to Samarkand. The airport is not big but there are many people *we got out local SIM cards in the airport. Very easy and cheap (around 50k som for 1 week 30 to 50 gigabytes depending on which mobile company to choose) 🚂 many trains arrives at the train station daily from the main Uzbek cities. Both slow trains and high speed trains (afrosyob) 🚗 you can arrive by tax/driver or renting a car. From Nurota to Samarkand we paid 40 USD for a private car - around 3-4 hours drive. Attractions: - Amir timur mausoleum - Registan square (ulugh bek, tilla kari, sher dor madrassah) suggested time to visit 5-6 PM - Bibi khanym mosque - Syoob bazar - remember to negotiate the prices! It’s a cultural practice - Hazrat mosque - Shah-I-zinda mausoleum 💙 (my fav) If you have time to spare you can visit also: - Tomb of Daniel - Ulubek observatory - Paper making factory - Pottery factory - Silk factory Hotels: I suggest to stay close to the main attractions so that you easily walk around. But you can go around with taxis with only 7k-14k som per ride. You can come across many enchanting buildings in Uzbekistan and one of them is Emir-Alim-Khan Madrasah. Emir Seyyid Mir Mohammed Alim Khan was the last emir of the Emirate of Bukhara. He was also the last direct descendant of Genghis Khan to serve as a national ruler. He was overthrown in 1920 by the Red Army under the command of Bolshevik general Mikhail Frunze. The Emir Alim Khan Madrasah, now used as a children's library, was built under his reign right behind the Kalon Minaret. Despite being built in the 20th century, the madrasah style was constructed in 18th century style to match the nearby buildings, including the Mir-i-Arab madrassah and the Kalan mosque. #uzbekistan #bukhara

Just got back from an incredible trip to Uzbekistan! This journey wasn't just about sightseeing, it was about family. Spending time with loved ones and friends was amazing, catching up and reconnecting. Uzbekistan is a land steeped in history, and we explored some fantastic museums. As we wandered through halls filled with artifacts, each one whispered stories of the Silk Road and ancient civilizations. But Uzbekistan isn't just about the past. The present is full of life! Everywhere we turned, there seemed to be a beautiful fountain, each one a unique work of art. The water sparkled and danced, adding a touch of magic to the bustling streets. And the food!!! No journey to Samarkand would be complete without a visit to the enchanting Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, where the mausoleums of saints and nobles rise like ethereal palaces against the azure sky. But amidst the grandeur of its architectural wonders, Samarkand also offers glimpses of everyday life in its bustling bazaars and bustling streets. I found myself wandering through the colourful stalls of the Siab Bazaar, where the aroma of spices mingled with the chatter of traders and the laughter of children. Here, I sampled exotic fruits and traditional delicacies, immersing myself in the vibrant tapestry of Uzbek culture. As the sun began to set over the ancient city, casting a golden glow upon its timeless monuments, I realized that my journey through Samarkand had been more than a mere adventure – it had been a pilgrimage to the soul of Central Asia. Every attraction is like a piece of history waiting to be unearthed, a story longing to be told.
