The people are not chaotic. 💞Reason for recommendation: If you have the chance, I highly recommend visiting at least once. #christmastrip My experience at the Christmas Market in Oslo was a winter wonderland for me! 🎄 Located in Spykersuppa Square in the heart of the Norwegian capital, the location of the market is no less glamorous outside the Royal Palace Oslo City Hall The highlight was the many stalls, each offering a variety of festive crafts, traditional Norwegian desserts and holiday treats for Gløgg (mulled wine) and the scent of roasted almonds filled the air filled, making it pleasantly inviting and creating an atmosphere. Surrounded by twinkling lights and decorated with a towering Christmas tree, the central ice rink was the heart of the market. Skating with the Palace in the background added a bit of magic to the experience. While exploring nearby attractions, Akershus Castle and the Acre Brigge waterfront offered a seamless mix of historic and modern charm. Long story short, me and my friend was nearly late for the flight from Oslo to Stockholm, just because of a short toilet break in the hotel room🤡 We went to the Oslo central station with confident of being early, yet the airport express have already left🤣After waiting for 20min, we can finally go to the airport and realise that we have only 20 minutes left for boarding. Luckily, we found out that we can check in online and get the luggage tag on the train, which is a great tips for you guys! another thing, as we are nearly the last ppl to check in, the luggage was offload first after we arrive Stockholm. The fortress itself has a great location and can be walked to from the city centre .it includes a number or artillery museums but all were closed when we visited .The fortress itself is free to enter and walk around. The Oslo Opera House is built of snow-white marble, with an avant-garde and modern appearance. It is the first choice for checking in at oslo🥰🥰 When I first went there, it was snowing heavily so I couldn’t go to the top. But if the weather is good, you must go to the top to overlook the entire Oslo city center. Built on the top of a mountain north of Oslo, it held its first ski jumping event in 1900s. A taller tower was then built later for the 1952 Winter Olympics. Within this huge compound, you will find a Ski Museum, an Observation Deck, a Ski Simulator and a zipline for the adventurous. But, unfortunately the museum is under renovation till end of 2023. But you are still able to admire the building structure from the outside! To get here, you can take Metro 1 (towards Frognerseteran) and alight at Holmenkollen station. Hikes in Norway is just breathtaking! During my recent trip I visited Stavanger, Haugesund and Oslo. It was fall season slowly turning winter, which made the weather excellent for hiking! Imagine hiking in 7-10 deg weather! The difficulty level is much higher in Norway as these paths are really natural rocks and hills. Good footwear is a must! You can always be assured of a beautiful summit view at the top of every hike! Getting in touch with nature, respecting the routes and keeping it clean is what Norwegians practice. It amazes me to see lots of parents carrying their newborn on their backs and taking these routes. All well trained since young to appreciate the nature and surroundings! The new Munch Museum has marked a landmark by the Oslo Fjord with a generous collections of the famous artist—Edvard Munch. Do go and check out all the amazing paintings and art pieces produced by the artist over the years! It would awe you! In the mean time the roof bar and restaurant also serve really great Norwegian food and drinks. The newly opened Sommerro Hotel in Solli Plass Oslo was a conversion project of the old electricity company. It’s filled with carefully implemented design details in very corner as you manoeuvre in. Tried the afternoon tea set today and was stunt by the matching tailored chair covers and culinary designs. The auto play Steinway Grand piano is also said to be a proud layout. Services are professional and properly trained, (mind you, Norwegian aren’t known for attentive nor up to date standard hospitality manners). Foods are well presented and finally some authentic English High Tea!(high standards for Norway market! ) A definite must Check Out Spot! It appears this museum is now temporarily closed for renovation until 2025/2026. The new museum will be called the “Museum of the Viking Age” which will provide a more complete picture of the Viking Age in its entirety. Kon-Tiki Museum The museum houses vessels and maps from the popular Kon-Tiki expedition. Here you can see the Kon-Tiki, a balsawood raft that Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl used to cross the Pacific Ocean. This was his first expedition to be captured on film. The Kon-Tiki documentary from 1950 is screened every day at 12 noon in the cinema of the museum. Take this into account when planning your visit. #oslo #norway

If you didn’t know, Fram is the strongest wooden ship ever built and still holds the records for sailing farthest north and farthest south. At the Fram Museum you can come on board the ship and see how the crew and their dogs managed to survive in the coldest and most dangerous places on earth – the Arctic and the Antarctic. Certainly a museum to visit whilst in Oslo and it will be a hit with the kids too. Oslo is perfect for a city break and you can easily visit and see the top attractions in a weekend. #bucketlistreboot Bygdøy Peninsula Bygdøy is situated on the western side of Oslo. It is a popular recreation area and the place where the most expensive properties in Norway are found. To get there, we took a ferry from City Hall to Bygdøy. Bygdøy is also the home of five national museums. We visited four of these (mentioned below), except for the Norwegian Maritime Museum. At the museums you will experience and learn about the Norwegian spirit, the explorers and history from the Viking age till today. #bucketlistreboot Frogner Park is the largest park in Oslo where you can see the Vigeland installation – a permanent sculpture installation created by Gustav Vigeland. It consists of sculptures as well as larger structures such as bridges and fountains. At the highest point in the park, you will see the park’s most popular attraction, the Monolith. The Monolith tower is composed of 121 human figures rising towards the sky. The Vigeland installation is sometimes called “Vigeland Park” or “Vigeland Sculpture Park”. In reality, “Vigeland Park” doesn’t really exist but this is the name used by the tourists as opposed to “Oslo natives” who know it as Frogner Park. #oslo #norway

#bucketlistreboot Oslo’s National Theatre has served Norway’s main arena for stage artists, theatre productions and large celebrations for over 100 years. It’s a beautiful building “guarded” by statues of the great Norwegian writers Henrik Ibsen and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. Our hotel was close to the Theatre, so we had the pleasure of seeing this building a few times during our stay. Astrup Fearnley Museet is one of Scandinavia’s most notable museums for contemporary art. If you are into modern art, definitely pay a visit. It is beautifully situated by the fjord and makes for a nice walk along Oslo’s harbour promenade. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area, so perfect for some chill out time from all the sightseeing. #oslo #norway

#bucketlistreboot Oslo Cathedral Oslo Cathedral (Oslo domkirke) is the main church for the Church of Norway Diocese of Oslo, as well as the parish church for downtown Oslo. Similar to the Westminster Abbey in London, the Norwegian Royal Family and the Norwegian Government use the Cathedral for public events. Do pay a visit and definitely see the inside of the cathedral, we found it beautiful. Whilst it can’t be compared to the Berlin Cathedral or Almudena Cathedral in Madrid, this one definitely has its charm. Oslo is a great capital to visit and explore and a great opportunity to learn more about the Vikings but also Scandinavian culture. #oslo #norway

Free entry with the Oslo pass and you can get there easily with a bus which will be free as well if you have the Oslo pass. I had the opportunity to transit to Amsterdam at Oslo Airport. It's not a very big airport and not very crowded. It opened in 1998 and is Norway's main airport. There are plenty of places to sit and rest. There are places to charge your batteries under the seats. I had a few hours to walk around the airport. It didn't take long to get around. There were only a few shopping areas and a few restaurants. #oslo #norway
