Weekend trip to Busan
Busan is a large port city in South Korea, is known for its beaches, mountains and temples.
The second most populous city after Seoul.
Traveled there in August and weather was awesome and it was not very hot, pretty comfortable. Always was sunny and windy (take sunscreen and hat with you, sun is really strong there).
3 days wasn’t enough visiting there.
There are many 1 day tours around the city, where you can visit all hot spots and most beautiful bridges and sea side views.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Busan
This beautiful temple by the cliff is a serene and peaceful place by the sea. Haedong Yonggungsa is a famous temple in Busan and a popular spot for tourists. The view is stunning, and you can hear the sound of the waves. During the cherry blossom season, the mountains and pathways are covered in blooms, making it even more beautiful. It's also a great spot to watch the sunset. Before entering the temple, there are restaurants, souvenir shops, and parking spaces. If you visit Busan, I highly recommend coming here to pray and make a wish.

🚶I chose to walk and stopped by the Haewol Observation Deck—an excellent photo spot.
The coastal line ends at Mipo Station, another scenic location loved by photographers.

Songdo Beach, Busan.
Songdo Beach in Busan features fine white sand, a cable car, restaurants, and cafes. It is a well-known beach with a backdrop of tall buildings. You can walk to the Songdo Skywalk, which extends into the sea and offers photo spots with stone sculptures. Alternatively, you can take the cable car to the other side. The beach is especially beautiful in the evening, and the atmosphere changes when the lights are turned on. The sea in Busan is also very beautiful. This is a must-visit landmark for checking in.

A memorable day at Haeundae, full of feels and walk along the sea from Mipo to Cheongsapo is so good even though it was raining! It was peaceful and calm ☺️🌬️
-
Here’s our one day itinerary in Haeundae!
Haeundae Traditional Market > Geukdong Pork Soup > Mipo beach > Haeundae blueline park
-
In the morning, we went to Haeundae Traditional Market by Kakao T for breakfast and the best hotteok ever! Shortly after we walk from market to the pork soup restaurant and it was really good! The location is near to Mipo beach, after brunch we went to the beach and took a walk 🚶
We went to the skywalk in between Mipo and Cheongsapo station and it was raining that time, however we found joy and had a really good time there.
We walked for like 1.5 hours before we get to Cheongsapo, then we had a short coffee break before we take Skycapsule train back to Mipo.
For dinner, we had the best Abalone congee at Bada Maru!
We were tired from walking whole day so we ended our day early and went back to airbnb by 8pm-ish. We ordered food delivery as well ㅋㅋ

Overall it was really a meaningful day in Busan, and also one of my favourite city to visit! I will surely be back 😎#travel #busan #bluelinepark #haeundae #abalonecongee #mipo

Busan: A City You'll Fall in Love With
My first backpacking trip to Busan, South Korea, was an absolute delight. The public transportation system is excellent, the people are friendly, and the tourist spots are stunning. During this trip, I visited many landmarks, including:
- Haeundae Beach
- Gwangalli Beach
- Songdo Beach
- Gamcheon Culture Village
- Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
- Busan Tower
- Stairs of Wishes Monorail Village
- Olympic Park
Every Saturday, you can also enjoy a drone show at Gwangalli Beach. The local youth are very charming. If you have the chance, you should definitely visit!
The Santorini of South Korea
Gamcheon Culture Villiage was formed by refugees of the Korean war who built their houses in staircase-fashion on the foothills of a coastal mountain. The many alleys that cut through this community are vibrantly decorated with murals and sculptures created by the residents. With its rows of colourful terraced houses standing along the mountainside Gamcheon Culture Village is referred as the 'The Santorini of South Korea' or Busan's Santorini. Vibrantly-painted murals and interesting sculptures beautifully decorated the village. The alleyways, staircases and winding streets add an exotic charm for visitors to explore the picturesque village.

jokbal
One of the best jobals you can find in Busan. Got both normal and chilled Jokbal, and the family enjoyed it all along with the side dishes. The generous portions of their dishes are noteworthy; a serving intended for one person easily satisfies the appetites of 2-3 individuals.
An intriguing aspect is the complimentary local soft drinks, reminiscent of Sprite, enhancing the overall dining experience. Also very easy to order as a foreigner. They have three dishes to pick from and 4 sizes to pick from depending on how many people you have.

Amnan Island: Busan’s Secluded Coastal Escape
#hikingtrails #korea #busan
Amnan Island, tucked along the western edge of Busan, offers a serene and refreshing getaway from the bustling city. Though lesser-known among tourists, this peaceful island is a hidden treasure, blending coastal beauty with a quiet, untouched atmosphere. Historically, Amnan Island was an important spot for local fishermen, thanks to its strategic location along Busan’s shores. Today, while much of the city has transformed, the island remains a pristine escape, preserving its natural charm for those seeking tranquility.
Just 6 kilometers from the heart of Busan, Amnan Island is easily accessible, making it an ideal day trip. A 20-minute bus ride from central areas like Nampo-dong or Jagalchi brings you to the island’s edge. For the more adventurous, a walk along the coastal path from nearby Songdo Beach offers a scenic route. This coastal walk provides stunning views of the sea, and as you approach the island, the sense of isolation and serenity grows. Despite being so close to the city, Amnan Island feels like a world away, with its untouched beauty and peaceful ambiance.
A highlight of any visit is the island’s hiking trail, which meanders along the cliffs, offering spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding ocean. The trail is relatively easy, making it accessible to hikers of all levels. As you stroll along the path, the sound of waves crashing against the rocks below adds to the calming experience, making it a perfect escape for those looking to reconnect with nature.
Amnan Island also serves as a gateway to other nearby attractions. Songdo Beach, one of Busan’s oldest and most popular beaches, is just a short distance away. The Songdo Cloud Trails, a glass walkway that stretches over the sea, offers thrilling views for those brave enough to walk its path. For a cultural detour, Gamcheon Culture Village is nearby, known for its colorful murals, art installations, and winding alleyways, providing a contrast to the natural beauty of Amnan Island.
Though small in size, Amnan Island offers a big experience, combining scenic trails, coastal views, and a peaceful atmosphere just minutes away from the city.

▪️Visit karaoke (noraebang): Sing your heart out at one of the many karaoke rooms, a favorite Korean nightlife activity.

Feasting Like a Local at Nano Galmegi in Seomyeon, Busan
#eatlikealocal #100waysoftravel #southkorea #busan #koreanfood #koreanbarbecue
One of my best memories from our Busan trip was dining at Nano Galmegi Seomyeon 1 (Muhan Hanpan 8•8), a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Korean barbecue. This all-you-can-eat gem offers a fantastic selection of meats, with thick cuts of pork belly that were some of the best I’ve ever had. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff assisting us every step of the way, from grilling and cutting the meat to suggesting the perfect pairings for each bite. The side dishes and meats were replenished promptly whenever we ran out, so we could eat to our heart's content. At just 14,000 won per person, it’s an incredible deal! Be sure to go early, as it fills up quickly, but even when packed, the service remains top-notch. If I ever return to Busan, this is the first place I’ll visit again!
Savoring the Sea: A True Local Experience at Busan's Jagalchi Market
#eatlikealocal #100waysoftravel #southkorea #busan #seafood
**"Eating Like a Local: Fresh Seafood Feast at Busan's Jagalchi Market"**
One of my favorite experiences when visiting Busan is definitely savoring the fresh, raw seafood at Jagalchi Market. The market is a paradise for seafood lovers, with endless stalls offering everything from raw octopus (sannakji) and live abalone to an array of shellfish, including scallops, mussels, and sea urchins. The raw octopus, still wriggling on the plate, is an adventurous delicacy best eaten with a dipping sauce of sesame oil and salt, providing a burst of flavor and texture. The abalone, tender and briny, is often served raw or lightly grilled, highlighting its natural sweetness.
Vendors skillfully prepare the seafood on the spot, and many restaurants within the market will cook your purchases to order, whether grilled, steamed, or served raw in the traditional Korean way. Paired with spicy gochujang, garlic, and fresh vegetables, each bite feels like a celebration of the sea, making it an unforgettable way to eat like a true local.
The seafood goes so well with a bottle of soju, just like a scene out of a Korean drama. An ajuma even helped us grill the shellfish and cut them into bite-sized pieces, despite the language barrier. Her kindness, along with the freshness of the seafood, made it an unforgettable way to eat like a true local.

Bupyeong Khangtong Market in Busan 🇰🇷
#travellerswonderland
Busan's Bupyeong Market is also known as Kkangtong (tin can) Market. It earned that funny name when it had a variety of imported canned goods from the United States for the US forces stationed in Korea during the Korean War. It was also known as "Dottegi (bustling plea) Market." All foreign products found in the country at that time were supplied from this market. Due to its vast property and many rare goods that were hard to find anywhere else during the time, it was also referred as "Gukje (International) Market."
Nowadays, the market has reduced in size as many foreign products are freely imported, but the reputation still remain. Some imported goods including liquor, clothes, ornaments, accessories, fashion items and electronic goods are still sold here.
Along the 110m-long street market are 11 kiosks selling Korean food, 6 kiosks selling international food, and 13 vendors selling clothes and accessories. The entrance of the market greets visitors with bright LED lights and fun performances. A magic show and a guitar performance take place twice a day by the entrance of the market and the at the four-way intersection inside the market.

Ocean-View Bliss: A Perfect Day at Hill Spa in Busan
#spas #100waysoftravel #busan #haeundae #south_korea
We absolutely loved Hill Spa in Busan, a five-story building entirely dedicated to providing an unparalleled ocean-view spa experience. It's truly a one-of-a-kind spot in the city, offering everything from relaxation to breathtaking views.
The first floor houses a gym, while the second floor is reserved for women, with separate zones for massage baths, hot springs, and a cool-water area. On the third floor, you'll find a CU convenience store and various jjimjilbang rooms, along with a cozy sleeping and massage area. There's also a women-only sleeping room, offering a private and safe space, and individual sleeping pods that provide a sense of security. The fourth floor is reserved for men’s baths, while the fifth floor boasts both indoor areas with haeundae ocean views and outdoor foot bath jjimjilbangs.
Although a bit chilly in autumn, I highly recommend trying the outdoor spa during summer. The experience was absolutely incredible! The staff was friendly, and you can even spend the night here for a budget-friendly stay. Plus, nothing beats grabbing a meal from the CU store and cooking ramen at the automatic machine—a Korean drama moment, complete with sweet rice drinks and eggs. With the combination of great food, views, and relaxation, I could easily spend an entire afternoon at this spa!
📌Tips: The spa is open 24 hours, making it a perfect place to rest after a long overnight flight, and the first floor offers luggage storage.
