You can travel by metro (M11) to the city Centre (change at Gayrettepe) directly from the international airport conveniently and economically. Buying a Istanbulkart to be used for all major public transport.

Fatih,Istanbul
THE TWO GREAT MOSQUES OF ISTANBUL AND THE GRAND BAZAR LIGHTS
The two buildings look across the crowded square at each other. Like Istanbul itself, they both divide and join the citizens and their history.
Represented within these two great landmarks is the core of the city’s heritage.
If the buildings were people, historical figures even, they would be eyeing each other off with an acceptance of contemporary diplomacy but with memories of a violent past.
Outside of the Topkapi is the Blue Mosque, a mosque built by Sultan Ahmet I who was only 12 when he became the Sultan. In 1609 at the age of 18 he hired an architect to build a mosque greater than the Hagia Sophia. It is a beautiful mosque, and has the unique feature of six minarets - the most of any we saw. The name comes from the blue tile which adorns most of the inside walls.

Incredible Istanbul
I recently returned from an incredible trip to Istanbul, a city where history and modernity seamlessly intertwine. One of the highlights of my visit was the iconic **Galata Tower**. This medieval stone tower, standing tall on the skyline, offers panoramic views of the Bosphorus and the sprawling city below. Climbing to the top was a journey in itself, with each floor revealing more about Istanbul’s rich past.
Beyond Galata, I explored the vibrant neighborhoods that make Istanbul so unique. **Sultanahmet** was a must-see, home to the majestic **Hagia Sophia** and the stunning **Blue Mosque**. Both landmarks are architectural marvels that capture the essence of Istanbul’s diverse cultural heritage. The grandeur of Hagia Sophia, with its massive dome and intricate mosaics, is truly awe-inspiring, while the Blue Mosque’s serene courtyard and blue-tiled interior offer a peaceful respite from the bustling city.
I also wandered through the historic **Grand Bazaar**, one of the world’s oldest and largest covered markets. The maze-like corridors were filled with shops selling everything from spices to jewelry. Bargaining with the local vendors was an experience in itself, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Another unforgettable experience was taking a **Bosphorus cruise**, where I could appreciate the city from a different perspective. The views of the palaces and the sprawling skyline were simply breathtaking.
Istanbul’s culinary scene is equally impressive. From savoring traditional Turkish delights at local eateries to enjoying fresh seafood by the Bosphorus, every meal was a feast for the senses.
My trip to Istanbul was an unforgettable blend of history, culture, and modern-day vibrancy—truly a city like no other.

Blue mosque 🗺️
a deep sense of peace and history. The pigeons that flock around the courtyard add a charming touch to the serene atmosphere. 🕊️
Nearby, you can explore the bustling bazaars of Mazar-e-Sharif, where you’ll find everything from traditional Afghan crafts to delicious local food. I highly recommend trying the kebabs and fresh bread from the street vendors. For history enthusiasts, the nearby ruins of Balkh, also known as the "Mother of Cities," are just a short drive away and offer a fascinating glimpse into ancient civilizations.
If you have more time, visiting the Ali Shrine Museum inside the Blue Mosque complex is a must. It houses some intriguing artifacts and provides deeper insights into the mosque’s history and significance.
Overall, Mazar-e-Sharif and the Blue Mosque are must-visit destinations in Afghanistan. The blend of history, culture, and beauty is unforgettable. #BlueMosque #MazarESharif #AfghanAdventure #TravelGoals 🕌🇦🇫
Welcome to THE BLUE MOSQUE🕌💙🇹🇷

Right across from the magnificent Hagia Sophia stands the beautiful Blue Mosque! 💙🕌
In 2023, I got to visit both mosques, and I found the Blue Mosque to be especially tranquil and lovely. 🤲🏼✨
Inside, there are guides who can answer your questions about the mosque or about the Islamic practices observed inside the mosque. ☪️
The outside architecture is incredibly detailed and stunning, and boasts a large courtyards where tourists gather and wait in line.
Inside, the large domed ceilings allow for light to flood in, drawing attention to the intricate decorations. 🕌
The Blue Mosque is an incredible experience, which will transport you into a state of peace and awe. 💙
I hope I can visit the Blue Mosque again in 2024!

Istanbul is located in Turkey or also now called turkiye. When visiting turkiye, a must go place is to head towards the tourist attraction located at Binbirdirek, At Meydanı Cd No:10, 34122 Fatih/İstanbul.
In this area, there are several attractions apart from the blue mosque, there is the sultanahmet Square, Sultan I.Ahmed Türbesi, Obelisk of Theodosius(in the photo) where this is dated all the way back towards the 1400bc, the Serpent Column which is a Greek monument and many others.
Do head here early as the queues to some of the attraction like the blue mosque can be crazily long. Oh also, there are couple of street food that you can try like the cheese layered pastries or the pretzel like bread with Nutella.

When one comes to Istanbul, one will have to visit the ever popular Blue Mosque, with its iconic architecture, an amazing master piece that was said to be build more than 400 years ago. This is a magnificent huge structure and it's very popular among the tourists, as the queue here gets ridiculously long that we didn't intend to ever enter.
After viewing the blue mosque, do not forget to take a short walk towards the sultanahmet Square and the oblisek of theodosius which is just a short 5mins walk away.
The oblisek is a monument that was said to be erected in the 4th AD, and has some historical values dating back towards the Egypt empires. The sultanahmet Square is an area where all the remnants of an aerodrome plus many historical buildings. This should not be missed!

Good Time
Mosque was under going renovations, but still beautiful from the outside and the parts of the dome that were exposed. Upon arrival lots of people try to offer unofficial advice and help and pressure you to visit their shops afterwards but they are friendly and generally accept “no” as an answer. Head scarves and skirts given out free for single use entry for women which is a requirement but men can dress however. Shoes must be removed as in most mosques. Free entry and beautiful gardens. Doesn’t take long to walk through but a beautiful and historical place of worship. Non-Muslims and Christians were allowed to enter. #bluemosque #istanbul #turkey #mosque

This was the amazing Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Fatih 🇹🇷
The mosque is always busy but it’s worth visiting, inside there is a section at the front where anyone can pray and there is a section at the back for those that want to just have a look around or sit down.
I would recommend getting a hotel nearby in Sultanahmet so that it is easy to walk around everywhere.

A Taste of Istanbul Turkiye: Spice Bazaars, Stunning Mosques, and Turkish Baths
Stepping into the city of Istanbul where Asia meets Europe for the first time was an interesting adventure in #2023 ✈️ My first Turkish Airlines experience exceeded expectations, and their Istanbul business lounge is hands down one of the best lounge I have been.
The vibrant Spice Bazaar 🌶️✨ at the Grand Bazaar was a feast for the eyes, although definitely a tourist trap. Braving the intimidating long queue at Hagia Sophia was worth it to witness this stunning site, which transitioned from a church to a mosque, showcases a unique blend of two faiths' architectural beauty.
Exploring the Basilica Cistern, the largest ancient underground cistern in Istanbul, was like stepping into another world. The lighting and sculptures transformed this "water storage tank" into a mesmerizing underground wonder.
💧🏛️ And of course, I couldn’t miss the iconic Turkish bath! I visited the historic Cagaloglu Hamam, built in 1741. It was quite a costly experience, and somehow my hair turned pink after the bath! 😂💆♀️
Almost got toasted by the sun at the architectural marvel, Blue Mosque. Built in 1617, it remains a functioning mosque and is open to visitors during non-praying times. 🕌☀️
Wrapped up my trip with a visit to the Topkapi Palace Museum, where the exhibits showcase treasures from both Christian and Islamic cultures. #travelanywhere #turkiye #istanbul #hagiasophia #basilicacistern #topkapi #bluemosque #cagaloglu
