#hikingtime #100WaysOfTravel Hike with me and discover new findings. On my recent hike to Toru aux Cerfs, I came across this interesting blue weather station at a secluded part on the hiking trail. I came to realize that this is an importation weather station for Mauritius Meteorological Services to check for weather forecasts, patterns and tracking cyclones. It looked old from the outside but it is still working well. Since it is situated on a volcano so it is on a higher ground to monitor the entire island. Luckily there is a hiking trail and cars can pass through or else it will be a long walk for the weathermen to come here everytime.The views here are amazing as it look out towards Indian Ocean. #mauritius #traveltips #liveyourdreams #takethattrip

So it is a must to check for weather updates in Mauritius when you are going out. You can drive to the nearest point and hike your way up and you will passby this most beautiful viewpoint in Mauriitus known as Maconde viewpoint and when you are at the highest point, you can see the entire mountain is surrounded by a windy road in between the ocean. It is a must to hike up to see this amazing view. It is a 80 meter drop waterfall and you can view it from a safe distance. There is no need for any admission fee and there are some souvenirs shops at the entrance. It is a forested area and you have to hike a short distance to arrive at the look out. It is a large conservation space and even parking is free. So you are able to visit all these places with a rental car, there is no need to join a day tour. This is an island on the southwest of Mauritius and nearby Le Morne beach and Tamarin Bay. This is one of the popular places to see dolphins. I paid for a boat and snorkling trip with lunch provided and paid 10500 Mauritius rupee (about S$300) for 2 adults. It was a small tour of about 10 persons and we set off on a speedboat. The waves were calm and each time 2 persons will dive in the sea with the instructors. At the foot of Signal Mountain, in the capital city of Port Louis, Thien Thane Pagoda is regarded as a replica of the famous Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Jalsa Beach Hotel is a little gem in Mauritius. very relaxing and calming. lovely pool area, with morning aquarobics, with an instructor. Which I claim to be the hotels very own Ramone from the "Proposal" - He sings at dinner, plays the Piano, gym instructor, Jack of all trades. the Pedal boats free for residents at the hotel can be booked at the boat house. check for times - weather permitting. We enjoyed this relaxing water activity and saw fish jump from the Water, and occasionally let the current slowly drift us away before peddling back to the safety areas. Dinner was different each night, and had different curries. dessert was the same all the time. lovely stay and the cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful. Climb the highest peak - 830M - of Mauritius, Piton de la Petite Riviere Noire for a unique view on of the west coast of #mauritius. 1. For a full day hike, start from the bottom at Chamarel. 2. For a lighter version at 600M from Pétrin and check Cascade 500 pieds around the same area. Hike mostly for intermediate hikers - can be a bit slippery as most of the path is not directly exposed to sunlight. #hiking

Book at any small stay along the GRSE river such as - Otentic or EvaZion - and take one of their single or double kayaks to see the waterfall. It will take you around 45 minutes back and forth. A really nice moment specially if you chose to do it around sunset time to avoid the speedboats. Choosing kayaks over noisy speedboats will allow you see the families of monkeys hoping from tree to tree along the river. #mauritius #2023TravelWish
