#newyearnewtrip Along one of Chong Qing’s tourist 打卡(check-in) place is 山城步道 . One of the hidden finds there is this quaint cafe bar that sells both coffee and alcohol, inside a church ! Very lovely place to stop for a drink or cake. Owner is very friendly and the resident cat there is super cute. I highly recommend the dirty latte. It still sticks to the inheritance of the older generation, like a frail but determined old man. - ⚠️Punch: Back Street of Jiankang Road, Yuzhong District - 🌈In Chongqing, you never know which floor you are on, and it's the same here. It's an overpass above, a flat street when you go out, and there are about 10 floors below. #newyearnewtrip After a rejuvenated rest in fairy mountain on new year’s day. I decided to not waste my trip in the mountain region and booked a tour to wulong karst the next day. Wulong Karst, listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, and a national AAAAA scenic spot and it is also the film location of Transformer IV Age of Extinction. Since the release of Transformer IV, Wulong is well-known by global movie fans. It becomes a hot travel destination. The day trip turns out to be a challenging and rewarding one. We hopped on at 遊客中心, passed some winding mountain road, not long after, you will see a big gigantic transformer greets you at the entrance of 天生三橋。one ticket will let you access to the glass bridge, the spiral lift and the valleys. First stop is the 天生三桥玻璃观景眺台, a panoramic view of the mountains and a test of your fear of heights. At the encouragement of the tour guide, more people step forward onto the glass bridge to take in the extraordinary view. I was challenged to take a jump shot, and I did it! After the glass bridge we move forward to take the spiral lift which brings us up to 108 storeys high and down, nothing magnificent though and not much thrill after the jump shot at the glass bridge. Thereafter we started our long journey of up and down the hills, taking in the views of the valleys and waterfalls. Went through many many steps, and after awhile I lost the tour guide.. Although there are many steps, they are all well-constructed and safe to descend. The paths are also well maintained, I am lucky as the weather was good and no rain. As long you have your comfortable shoes on, though long and tiring, it is not difficult to complete the hike. Soon you will come across a unique set of buildings and noticed many will stop to 打卡. I realized the buildings were part of a movie named “Curse of the Golden Flower” featuring chow yun fat and gong li. Saw a lady taking a shot with the thumb, nice shot! But I couldn’t get it right. With the help of the tour guide I managed to have a nice shot of a pic holding the 大刀 haha. It was a fun shot. Just before the end of the exit about 500m, there are some buses by the road that can take you uphill if you pay, but I decided to take the steps anyway since I’ve already gone so far. A lot took the bus though haha. The ending is the rewarding one, you will see a row of stalls setting up by mainly local old folks, selling their home grown 土豆 and some oranges. Potatoes are good to fill up the stomach after the long hike and the oranges are so sweet! I have great fun hiking wulong karst and took alot of nice photos. my leg hurts a bit the next day but it’s all good. #chongqing #Longshuixia

#newyearnewtrip Last day of 2024 touched down Chongqing. Decided to sway away from the city crowd and spent my new year in fairy mountain. Best decision ever. Although no fireworks (due to restriction) and no major countdown celebration in the mountain, I thoroughly enjoyed the mountain fresh air and relaxed atmosphere. How to get to fairy mountain: From Jiangbei airport, take the metro to the north station. From north station take train to wulong train station (better to do advance booking for PH or weekends, I ended up getting a sleeping cabin because cabin with seats all sold out, new experience though for me!) journey took about 2 plus hours. Once reached wulong station, you will see a lot private hires waiting for customer, I chose to take the big bus which will bring you to 遊客中心 and 樹頂漫步 and snow ground. Before entering the mountain the driver will ask if you have purchased the mountain entrance pass, he will stop at the counter, you can just alight with your passport to get the pass. If you are staying inside the mountain (there are a few hotels inside the mountain, I stayed in huapont) you will need to alight at 遊客中心 and transfer to 小火車 stop. There are few buses there just ask the drivers, tell them which hotel and they will guide you. I stayed in huapont hotel where they have free buggy service to pick you up at 小火車 stop. Just need to WeChat them in advance. Hotel : Huapont hotel is surrounded by grassland and forest, great for nature lover. I chose the room facing the forest, it was snowing previously so some grounds are covered with snow. If I go back again I will definitely chose the room facing the grassland :) my room is very comfy with heater and a bathtub. The room building is located 10 mins walk away from the main building but you can take the free buggy service which is very convenient. From the room building you can walk to the famous 大草原 where you can see some animals and more people taking photos there. I also booked a private driver to bring us to 樹頂漫步 and 滑雪場, it is near from the hotel. I had so much fun at both places, trying snow slide for the first time! Dinner I ate at the hotel restaurant, delicious 四川菜, especially love the 小炒肉 and 土豆。 The next day I went to wulong mountain which is about 20+km from fairy mountain. Another place for nature and hiking lovers. Caution : a lot of walking and up and down staircases. Chongqing is built on a series of hills and ridges, giving it a very steep and uneven topography. You may find yourself walking uphill more often than expected. The attractions like Hongya Cave and Liziba require a fair amount of walking and stair climbing. The place is famous for its bold, spicy flavours, especially the hotpot. Advice for someone who cannot take the heat like me, please do not even try their “mildly spicy”. You may try their local delicacies such as chongqing noodle, wanzha noodle and dandan noodle. This city is out of this world. I never knew such a place existed. A city full of surprises and jaw dropping sights. The structures and layout defy the laws of engineering because of its topography- mountain city. The city has multiple layers that even maps are also confused lol. Tian Sheng San Qiao (Three Natural Bridges) National Park is located in Wulong, about 150 kilometers from Chongqing. We took a day trip by train, which was very convenient. We spent around 2.5 hours leisurely exploring the park. On the way back, the bus will stop at a bus station first, then at the train station. Be careful not to get off at the wrong stop. We almost did, but luckily we asked in time. You can conveniently pay by scanning when you get on the bus.

Beautiful part of China. the view and model of the city is insanely beautiful. definitely worth a visit. however, do note that it’s been hyped by many tourism boards so you can expect a huge crowd everywhere, especially on tourists spots. food here might not be suitable for all as it is very unique to the locals here. do remember to ask for less spicy or no spicy for those we can’t take spices #chongqing
