Dalat is a hidden gem that you should include in your Ho Chi Minh City trip itinerary. Located 300 km from HCMC, Dalat is just an hour flight or an overnight bus away from HCMC. One of my favourite destinations in Dalat is Datanla Waterfall. We visited Datanla Waterfall after visiting Truc Lam Buddhist Monastery located by Tuyen Lam Lake. It was a short taxi ride away from the exit of the monastery. Datanla Waterfall is part of the Datanla Tourist Area, which offers various recreational activities for visitors. A unique and thrilling way to reach the waterfall is by taking the alpine coaster. We got the opportunity to descend through the lush forest to reach the base of the waterfall. After visiting the waterfall, we took the alpine coaster up to the same starting point. If you are a thrill-seeker like me, you should not miss the High Rope Course & Zipline located next to the alpine coaster. It was the best obstacle and zipline course that I have ever had. This is one of the best zip lines I've had! This is Loboc Ecotourism Adventure Park that features zip lines and cable car rides while overlooking the Loboc River. This is located in Loboc town on Bohol Island. The zipline is 520 meters long and 120 meters high. It is a full-apron wrap zipline where tourists lie belly-down. The entire zip-course will take you above the forested mountain slope and the Loboc River. And it only take few minutes. I honestly wanted to go for another round but my friend was waiting. You have to wait in line to take turns zipping. Getting there: From the city, take a tricycle to the Dao bus terminal and get on a bus bound for Loboc and Carmen. There are many activities you can do there, such as hanging Bridge 🌁 , rainbow slide 🌈, ATV🏍, karting, zipline, 🏇 , etc. You only pay the entrance fee and you can use some activities with it. The highlight of Southern Laos is the Tad Fane zipline. A 220-meter zipline because it was originally a volcano crater!!!! We intended to come to Southern Laos because we wanted to play zipline here. We had been planning to do this for a long time before Covid came. When we had the chance to come to Southern Laos, this was a place we couldn't miss. As someone who felt like trying it once in their life, when we arrived, we had to try it. There are 4 long ziplines, 1 short zipline, and walking on the zipline. It goes in a circle with a little bit of hiking. It's like you're out of breath, lol. But the staff took very good care of us. They were there in front and behind us, took pictures, and chatted a lot. If you don't want to go alone, you can go with them. If you want to play, I recommend getting travel insurance for overseas trips. Because when you play, you have to fill in the company name and contact number in case of emergency. It's not expensive. Just buy it per trip. It's convenient. Tad Fane is located at KM38 on the way to Pakseong. There is a resort where you can stay, but you can also just come to visit. There is an entrance fee and parking fee. If you are afraid of heights, you can just come and take beautiful photos. It is really beautiful. During the public holiday, we have a chance to experience zipline in Borneo Happy Farm, Kuching. It is one of the best adventure activities there. It cost Rm25 for each ride per pax, and free buggy bus to ride back to the zipline station. It is a great experience, their staff are helpful and friendly. Their safety control also very well maintained. If you’re up for some adventure in Chiang Mai, this zipline and coaster ride experience is a must-do! We were picked up and taken on a thrilling course of 12 zip lines—such an adrenaline rush! After that, we got to ride the coaster twice, which was so much fun. Lunch was included, and you could choose between traditional Thai dishes or coffee and cake. We went for the stir-fried rice with chicken, which was delicious. Just a heads-up: some activities have a weight limit of 100 kg, so keep that in mind when booking. It was a fantastic day out and only took about 4 hours, leaving us plenty of time to chill by the pool in the afternoon. Not for adventurers or backpackers, don't do this 1️⃣ First day of the trip 🚞 Train: We took the 3rd class train, express train number 139 from Nakhon Ratchasima Station at 00.23 - Ubon Ratchathani Station at 06.15. The ticket price is 168 baht. Traveling by train is considered to be on time, +- no more than 10 minutes. Great! 🛺 Songthaew: Walk out from the front of Ubon Ratchathani Railway Station and wait for the songthaew at the fire station. It's easy. Open GPS and follow this https://maps.app.goo.gl/2ef4E5zSNjFyvSuJ9 The fare is 12 baht per person. Take it from the train station to Ubon Bus Terminal. It takes about 30 minutes. 🚌 Bus: Ubon - Pakse: Buy at the bus ticket counter, Bus Terminal 99, 200 baht per person, ride all the way to Pakse. But he will stop for you to go through immigration. It takes about 3 and a half hours to travel. We arrive at Pakse bus station at around 1:30 PM. There is an immigration overtime fee of 5 baht per person. Pay on the bus (Hey! There is something like this too). 💵 Exchange money at the immigration checkpoint. We got a rate of 640. The Lao immigration fee is 100 baht per person if you pay Thai baht. I recommend not renting an automatic. Very fuel-efficient 🏩Accommodation: Soubandith Hotel, 620 baht/room. We slept 2 people, 310 baht per person. No breakfast, but the room was very good, clean, soft bed, hair dryer, and most importantly, there was a bathtub for soaking in. The accommodation is located next to Dao Rueng Market in the center of Pakse. ⛰️After checking in to the hotel, at around 2:30 p.m., we rode a motorbike to Tad Fane Waterfall, a distance of about 40 km. It took about 1 hour. When we arrived, we bought a ticket for about 35 baht/person. Then we walked to the zipline point, which cost 1,100 baht/person. If anyone wants to take pictures for you, it costs an additional 200 baht/person. It takes about 30 minutes to play. After playing, we went back. Didn't go anywhere else because of time constraints. 🥓For dinner, we ate Sindaat or grilled pork at "Ran Det Nang Sok Bup Fai Sia Dod" restaurant. Search the name and follow the GPS on Google. The price including drinks is about 120 baht per person. I recommend trying the "Nom Moo". It's really delicious and crunchy. We had 3 refills. 🍺For late night, we went to "View Bar", a restaurant that serves bubbly drinks and has live music, mostly Thai songs. The restaurant has full lighting, colors, and sounds. Anyone who likes listening to 90s and 2000s music will definitely enjoy it. 2️⃣ The second day of the trip ☕️Breakfast starts with coffee from “Tea Room Dao Coffee”, an original coffee shop. Dao Coffee is an Arabica coffee from the Bolaven Plateau. The atmosphere of the shop is very inviting and clean. The menu we ordered was a hot Americano. The taste is considered very good, not bitter or sour, just right. Asking the staff, they said it was a light roast coffee. So we ordered several bags as souvenirs. We also tried the pate, which is French bread with pork sausage and minced chicken liver. Personally, I didn't like the taste of minced chicken liver today, so I pushed it out. The dough is delicious and chewy. We asked several times what time the bus would leave and when it would arrive in Korat. The driver said the bus would leave at 15.30 and arrive in Korat at 20.00. So we bought a ticket, but it wasn't like what was said because we drove around the world and actually arrived in Korat at 12.30 midnight. The service was not up to standard and we were not impressed at all. If you are in a hurry, don't take Ubon Air. I have warned you! This line is famous. But if you are a chill person, go for it. 👍 Pros - You can travel even if you have little time - Make a decision and go immediately, done. 👎 Cons - You can't go everywhere. You have to choose only the places you really want to go to - Your body will be tired and exhausted.
