Visiting Château de Chillon on a winter’s sunny day was an unforgettable experience. The crisp air and clear skies made the castle’s medieval architecture stand out even more against the stunning backdrop of Lake Geneva and snow-capped Alps. We were lucky to find the castle surprisingly uncrowded, allowing us to explore at our own pace, lingering in each room and taking in the history and beauty without the usual crowds. The tranquility of the winter day added to the castle’s charm. The sunlight glinted off the lake’s surface, casting a golden glow on the stone walls of the château. From the serene lakeside walk to the majestic interiors, every corner felt like a scene from a fairytale. #hotelstaycation The hotel is convenienly located near the airport, about 8-10 min by taxi and is super easy to reach the city center by bus or taxi. The hotel itself looks pretty good, fairly new. The room was spacious and the bed was confortable. It is up to Novotel standard. I did not like the bathroom which was small and “cheap”. Plastic everywhere. Breakfast was good, Novotel standard. Geneva is on the southwest French-speaking part of Switzerland. You won’t hike the Swiss Alps here, but as the second largest city in the country, there are plenty of museums and attractions to visit. I strolled around the city for two days visiting the home of the United Nations, the Flower Clock, the Reformation Wall, and CERN. Jet D'Eau is probably the most famous and visited place in the city of Geneva. Getting there is pretty easy as it is located in downtown and all drivers know where is located or you can stay in nearby hotels. The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 2 to 3 hours. Lake’s water is very beautiful, there are some colorfoul flowers around to decorate the lake. If you are lucky you will be able to see some swans around. If you walk around you might find the perfect angle to see the rainbow around the jet of water. The jet is powerful and the water can reach a height up to 140 metres! Switzerland has always been my dream place to go. I used to plan on getting my hospitality university degree here but it never come into reality.
