Escape the crowds
Plitvice Lakes National park is one of the most popular tourist sites in Croatia and there’s definitely good reason for that with the national splendour of the waterfalls crashing through the forest a must see sight for anyone visiting the country.
However, at the height of summer crowds at the lower end of the park can become very overwhelming and for those seeking a more tranquil experience that may seem hard to find.
There is an answer though, you should head towards the upper lakes where the same beautiful natural world is still there to inspire you, but you can enjoy it in a far more serene environment. #lakes #waterfalls #croatia
A tranquil lakeside escape
Northern Italy is famous for its lakes amongst many other things with visitors drawn to its most famous such as Como and Garda year after year. Due to both their fame and beauty numbers around those lakes can become overwhelming at the height of the summer.
Don’t worry though, if you are looking for a beautiful Italian lake framed by green mountains where you can eat authentic food by the shore and maybe even have a swim to cool off on the hottest of days you should head to Lake Ledro. Located only a few KM from Lake Garda this mountain lake will seem a million miles away with its calming waters surrounded by the delightful villages of Molina and Mezzolago #voyagevibes #lakes #italy
Best Chinese City in Autumn

See Beijing when it turns to gold!
The Golden Gingko trees line the parkway. If you ever enjoyed jumping in leaves as a kid, this fun will continue on your next trip to Beijing, China. Plan your next fall trip to this city of ancient wonders.
The Gingko biloba tree (银杏) grows beautiful fan shaped leaves. Their shapes are unique to Asia since they are a prehistoric species. In Autumn, these leaves famously turned into gold. The leaves will stay on the trees a few weeks which make for beauty fall foliage scenes.
Where can we find these yellow leaves?
The city centre around The Palace Museum is dotted with lanes and lines of these Gingko trees. If you want a comfortable place to go for photos and leisure take my suggestion and head to Beihai Park.

You Must Go to Heavenly Lake while it’s not yet crowded!
#traveldiaries
If you research Urumqi, the top tourist destination is the heavenly lake. The scenery all the way up to the mountain where the lake is , is just gorgeous.
We just booked a a return tour bus using trip app and the tour guide on the bus just helped us purchase the entry ticket and all the activities you will do inside the forest park.
There are available boats if you want to experience the lake by boat or you want to go on top of a mountain and see the bird’s eye view of the lake. You will need to take a cable car to get there which is probably included in your payment.
It is 2 hours away from Urumqi and the temperature there is a colder than the city so make sure to wrap up .
Enjoy. 😊

Discovering the Magic of Blue Lake: Nature’s Sapphire in Mount Gambier
Visiting the Blue Lake in Mount Gambier, South Australia, felt like stepping into a natural wonder! The vivid sapphire-blue water is mesmerizing, especially under the clear skies. The lake’s color is most vibrant from November to March, but even outside those months, it remains a breathtaking sight.
Strolling around the walking trail that circles the lake offered multiple viewpoints, each with its own unique perspective of the stunning volcanic crater. The peaceful atmosphere and the picturesque surroundings make it a perfect spot to relax and connect with nature.

This breathtaking landscape is not in Europe, but Kazakhstan!
Just 2-3 hours from Almaty, you can visit this beautiful lake for a one day trip!
Kolsai Lake is famous for its picturesque scenery. You can see the reflection of mountains and trees in the clear water (Photo 1). As you head further inside, passing through the forest (Photo 2), you can rent a boat and immerse in the view in the middle of the lake (Photo 3).
From the viewpoint above, it takes around 10 minutes to get to the base of the lake. There are stairs on the side so it was not too hard climbing up and down (Photo 4) . My 60+ years old parent have no problem walking around the lake. It's a perfect destination to enjoy the peacefulness and tranquillity of nature.

First time staying in a yurt at Song-kul!
At the beginning of this month, I had a chance to accompany my parents to Kyrgyzstan. Among all of the places we've been, Song-kul is probably my favourite. The road to the lake was quite bumpy, but the view along the way was so beautiful that it didn't feel like we spent 6-7 hours on the road.
As we went there at the beginning of September, the grass has already turned yellow. This creates such a nice contrast of colours between the lake and the grass. If you would like to avoid large crowds and mosquito in July and August, September is a good month to visit here. Be sure to pack warm clothes as it can be very cold and windy!

Incredible destination for Summer Escape
#lakes A visit to Dajiu Lake is like stepping into a serene painting, where nature’s beauty is on full display. Waking up early to catch the morning mist was the perfect way to start the day. As I ventured out, the lake was shrouded in a delicate layer of fog, creating an almost mystical atmosphere. The still waters mirrored the mist-covered mountains and trees, blurring the lines between sky and earth. The silence was profound, broken only by the occasional call of a bird or the soft rustle of leaves. This ethereal scene felt like a secret world, hidden away from the rest of the bustling world.
As the morning progressed, the sun slowly began to rise, piercing through the mist and gradually revealing the vibrant colors of the landscape. The rays of sunlight filtered through the trees, casting a warm, golden hue over the lake. The mist began to lift, unveiling the lush green hills and the crystal-clear waters of Dajiu Lake. The transformation from the quiet, foggy dawn to a sunlit paradise was breathtaking. The air was cool and refreshing, making it clear why Dajiu Lake is considered a perfect summer retreat. Strolling along the lake’s edge, with the gentle breeze and the sun’s warmth, I felt completely at peace. Dajiu Lake is truly a haven for those looking to escape the summer heat and immerse themselves in nature’s tranquility.
Dong Hu Lake: Land of Grace and Tranquility in Wuhan
#lakes
East Lake is located near the southern bank of the Yangtze River in the eastern suburbs of Wuhan. It is the largest urban lake in China. The Eastern Lake is crossed by several dams, which offer beautiful views of the surrounding area — the skyscrapers of Wuhan and forested hills. Every year, this tourist area attracts 2 million tourists from different parts of China and the world.
The Eastern Lake covers an area of 88 square kilometers, which is approximately 25 percent of the territory of Wuhan City. This clear lake with winding shores is called Lake 99 convolutions. East Lake consists of 6 thematic areas: Tintao, Millstone Hill, Wild Diving Goose, White Horse, Chudi and Luhon Hills. The most popular of them are Tintao and Millstone Hill.
A distinctive feature of Tintao are redwoods, which are especially good in late autumn. In this area, the classic Chinese building with the poetic name of the Attention Tower to the Waves will also impress. In addition, the first sculpture park in China is located here.
It is a hilly area that has six peaks. The most important peak resembles a mushroom in its shape. There is a Botanical garden here, where more than 360 species of plants grow in 13 special gardens.
You can travel around the lake on tourist boats, for a fee. There is a beautiful walking path next to the lake, where you can also ride bicycles. Bicycles can be rented).
The best time to visit Donghu is March-April and September-October. In July and August, the temperature can reach 40 degrees, even the Chinese themselves consider it too hot. And in winter, from the end of November to the end of January, there are frosts.
The climate conditions in the surrounding area are favorable for comfortable recreation, as well as the development of the fishing industry. Most of the locals are fishermen, as well as traders of sovereign products. In small shops you can buy such traditional symbols as a Chinese knot, porcelain figurines, bells, etc.
Great Lake Taihu: Exploration and Adventure
#lakes
Taihu, which is the third largest in China and, according to the Chinese, the most beautiful and majestic. The lake is located near the road connecting the cities of Hangzhou and Shanghai, so many tourists visit this place.
Lake Tahoe is located on the plain of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The lake area is approximately 2,200 square kilometers (60 km long and 45 km wide). With such a large-scale size, Taihu has a maximum average depth of only two meters, while being the third largest freshwater reservoir along with Poyanghu and Dongting. The nearest cities are Wuxi, Suzhou, Yixing and Jiaxing. The shores are well maintained, everything is very clean and well maintained. There are mountain slopes around the lake, large park areas. In the center of the lake is Dongting Island, the birthplace of the famous Chinese tea Bi Lo Chun, which translates as "emerald spirals of spring". The territory of the island is open to tourists and everyone can visit the extensive plantations, communicate with the local population and learn the specifics of processing tea leaves. You can get to the island using the bridge crossing the Taihu.
Previously, in very ancient times, the current Taihu was a sea, but the waters dried up, turning into the third largest freshwater lake in China. How did this form form? Presumably, 70 million years ago, a meteorite fell. The rocks of asteroid origin in the lake serve as a confirmation of this.
Taihu has served and continues to serve as an important fishing center for the local population. About 30 cities take drinking water from Taihu.
The temperature in the lake warms up to 31 degrees in summer, and drops to at least 5 degrees in winter. Such climatic conditions have a beneficial effect on the development of the fishing industry. Most residents of small villages near the lake work in this area. Separately, it is worth noting that hydrology experts have recorded more than 90 islands on the lake, which indicates the ancient origin of the Taihu.
The walk around the lake and its surroundings was very impressive.

My first love - Lago di Garda ❤️
#lakes
This summer, I spent an unforgettable day at Lake Garda in Italy, and it was nothing short of magical! We started our visit in the picturesque town of Sirmione, known for its charming streets and the impressive Scaliger Castle. The entrance fee to the castle was about €8, and climbing to the top rewarded us with stunning panoramic views of the lake.
After exploring the castle, we took a stroll through the town, enjoying gelato from a local shop as we wandered along the lake’s edge. The clear, blue waters of Lake Garda were so inviting that we couldn’t resist renting a small boat for an hour (around €40). Cruising on the lake with the mountains in the distance was a highlight of the trip.
Later, we visited the thermal baths at Aquaria (entry €36), where we relaxed in the warm, healing waters while gazing out at the lake. As the day ended, we found a cozy lakeside restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal as the sun set over the water.
Lake Garda is a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and Italian charm. It’s a destination I’ll never forget! 🚤🍦 #trip #LakeGarda #ItalianLakes #Sirmione #ScenicViews #SummerGetaway

Fall in Spell with Charming Magic Of Blue Moon Valley
#lakes
There are many places of interest in the world.
Today we will visit China, Yunnan Province.
There is a valley of extraordinary beauty called the Valley of the Blue Moon.
The Blue Moon Valley is really very beautiful. The mountain river, which originates from the glacier at the top of the Jade Dragon, forms several small lakes and low waterfalls, the water in which changes its color depending on the lighting. It can be blue, green or white.
Thanks to its pure calcium-rich water and the surrounding mountains, the valley looks very picturesque.
On a sunny day, the valley will appear to your eyes in a glow of blue light. The purest water of mountain glaciers descends with a cheerful noise along numerous rapids, runs through a waterfall and fills several lakes sparkling in the sun like precious jade. From a great height or on the map, this valley really has the shape of a newly born crescent moon, which is located at the base of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
The legends of the Nakhi people say that the water in the Valley of the Blue Moon got its unique color from the raft on which the gods overcame the valley. In fact, the river, fed by the melting snows of the Himalayas, acquires a turquoise hue due to copper ions dissolved in water.
Although the terraces in the Blue Moon Valley are mostly of natural origin, the Chinese government has carried out several measures to create artificial landscapes to make the attraction look even more spectacular. And it worked. The terraces, combined with the flowers, gorges and meadows that surround them, make the Blue Moon Valley one of the most picturesque places in all of China.
To summarize all emotions and impressions together, we can say that In the mountains of southern China there is an incredibly beautiful turquoise river flowing down no less beautiful terraces. As the water flows over these flat platforms, it forms dozens of miniature white waterfalls that break down into a mountain valley.
Gently Embraced by Dragon: Lake Beauty and Romance

The Black Dragon Pond Park is also called Longquan Park, located at the foot of Elephant Hill in northern Lijiang. It was built in 1737, during the reign of the Qing Dynasty. Two streams of spring water poured out from under an ancient chestnut tree at the foot of the Hillside Slope, forming a pond of almost 40,000 square meters. The spring water is as pure as jade. The surface of the water is filled with white seaweed flowers. Fish swim underwater. Flowers and trees on the shore of the pond are dotted with towers and pavilions, forming a very beautiful landscape. This park is not only the source of the waters of the ancient city of Likiang, but also the place where the national protected cultural relics of Likiang are most concentrated.
The area where the Black Dragon Pond is located is a valley surrounded by steep cliffs and wall-forming mountains that protect these places from air-drying winds, and a huge reservoir humidifies the air and creates a pleasant microclimate. On weekends, many citizens and tourists come to enjoy the local beauties, stroll through the park and have a picnic in this extraordinarily beautiful place.
In the Park Black Dragon Pond, there are two ponds, separated by a bridge in the middle. Ancient trees grow in the Black Dragon Pond Park, among which chestnut, cypress and birch are the most common. The mountain behind the Black Dragon Pond looks like a giant sleeping elephant in the distance, which is why it is called Elephant Mountain. Elephant Mountain is relatively low, but very steep. You can quickly climb and reach the top in 30 minutes. You can relax in the pavilion at the top of the hill overlooking the entire Lijiang Dam. At the northern gate of the Black Dragon Pond there is a typical Nakhi building - the Lijiang Museum, which houses the world's largest collection of Dongba relics.

Lake Eriboll 🗺️
#lakes
During my summer vacation, I spent some time at Loch Eriboll in the Scottish Highlands, and it was an absolute gem. Nestled in the far north of Scotland, this stunning loch offers a serene and picturesque escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Best of all, there’s no entrance fee—just the cost of getting there and perhaps a few small expenses for parking or local amenities. 🌊🏞️
The loch’s remote location means it’s a perfect spot for tranquility and nature lovers. The views of the surrounding mountains and the expansive waters are breathtaking. I spent a wonderful day walking along the shore, taking in the fresh Highland air, and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Nearby, the small village of Durness is charming and offers a few local cafes and shops. It’s also worth checking out the nearby Smoo Cave, a dramatic sea cave with fascinating rock formations and waterfalls. Loch Eriboll was a highlight of my trip, combining natural beauty with a sense of adventure.

Beauty and Charm of Hidden Gem of Baofen Lake

Lake Baofeng is located in the mountains at an altitude of about 400 m (and at the highest point at all 585 m) above sea level. But the most amazing thing is the fact that the lake is artificial!
Spectacular surroundings and harmoniously decorate the locals. On Baofeng Lake, you will be able to feel the full flavor and originality of the indigenous culture, as well as see the beauty of the landscapes with your own eyes.
Baofeng Lake is a World Natural Heritage Site, a world geological park and part of the first group of Level 5A national tourist zones in Wulingyuan, Zhangjiajie. This is one of the main tourist routes of Zhangjiajie and the water curtain in the series "Journey to the West" and "The True and False Monkey King". It is a complex picturesque place combining landscape and national culture.
On a tour of the lake's water surface, you can see rocks and peaks of bizarre shapes, such as "fairy looking into the mirror", "golden toad holding the moon" and others. The main scenic area is 2.5 kilometers long, the widest part of the water surface is more than 150 meters, and the average water depth is 72 meters. There are more than 20 famous scenic spots in the scenic area, among which the most famous are Baofeng Lake, Baofeng Waterfall and Baofeng Temple.
There are small houses right on the lake, when a tourist boat sails by, a person comes out and greets tourists with a folk song and a special folk greeting "Yoo-wei", which means a safe return home.
After taking a ride on the lake, you can take a picture with Sun Wukong against the background of the waterfall, or even order a photo shoot in costumes of the Miao and Hui nationalities. You can also go up to the traditional village and to the Baofeng Temple, to be honest, after traveling through the Wulingyuan Mountains, we did not go up there anymore. Of course, you can also buy souvenirs in the folk style.
