A dog has mauled an 8-year-old St. Paul boy, causing facial injuries that needed more than 50 stitches to repair.
Aharon Atlas was back at home Friday after spending the night in a hospital. The attack left him with deep cuts on his chin and around his right eye.
Aharon lives on the upper floor of a duplex. He said he had gone downstairs when he was suddenly attacked by the dog owned by his downstairs neighbors.
The dog’s owner declined comment.
The dog is a black Presa Canario named Spirit.
Authorities at St. Paul Animal Control have quarantined the dog for 10 days. They’ll decide whether to declare it dangerous, which would mean it could be euthanized.
