HATTIESBURG, Miss.—Hattiesburg police say a pedestrian was hit by a car and killed on U.S. Highway 49.
Deputy Forrest County Coroner Jonathan Nobles tells The Hattiesburg American that 21-year-old Geoffrey Potvine died Thursday of massive internal injuries.
Nobles says Potvine was from Wisconsin, and that he was in the area traveling with a carnival.
Police say Potvine was crossing U.S. 49 when he was hit.
Sgt. Allen Murray says he doesn’t expect any charges to be filed against the driver that struck Potvine.
