MADISON, Wis.—A central Wisconsin state park has mostly reopened after crews repaired the worst of the damage from a storm earlier this month.
State park officials say several trails and a picnic area at Council Grounds State Park remain closed as they set up contracts to remove downed trees, but the rest of the park’s other facilities are open or will open in May, depending on weather conditions.
The popular 500-acre park is located on the Wisconsin River near Merrill. A tornado moved through the area on April 10.
