Another Washington County group is set to be recognized for its efforts to help soldiers.
The Yellow Ribbon Alliance Lower St. Croix Valley will be officially recognized by Gov. Mark Dayton on Aug. 23.
Nine cities in the county already have received the status.
Beyond the Yellow Ribbon is a community-based network of volunteer services available to soldiers returning from war or to their families at home. The program began in 2008 with government-funded reintegration sessions and has grown into a grass-roots movement involving communities and organizations.
Cities, counties and businesses can receive Yellow Ribbon status, as designated by the governor, by meeting a series of requirements.
