Former Bayport Fire Chief Mark Swenson will be honored at a retirement open house from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Lakeside Park Beach House in Bayport.
“We want to honor Mark’s service to the city,” City Administrator Logan Martin said. “He’s had such a lasting impact on Bayport with his service to the fire department for 25 years and then, most recently, his efforts to initiate the fire hall building project.”
Swenson retired last summer. As chief during the past three years, he oversaw development of the city’s new $5.7 million fire station. A production supervisor at Andersen Corp., Swenson also serves on the city council in Oak Park Heights.
The Beach House is at 95 Central Ave. Light refreshments will be served.
