UN Secretary-General briefs General Assembly on 2025 Priorities

On Wednesday 16 January, UN Secretary-General António Guterres briefed the 56th plenary meeting of the General Assembly on his priorities for 2025, addressing multiplying conflicts, widening inequalities, the intensifying climate crisis and the unchecked rise of technology. These pressing global challenges were highlighted alongside the importance of hope, noting major commitments made in the Pact for the Future, the Global Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations.
