Bad Bunny

Born on March 10, 1994, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to father Tito Martínez and mother Lysaurie Ocasio, Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) is the eldest of three boys. A devout Catholic growing up, the “Me Porto Bonito” artist attended church weekly and sang in the choir until age 13. He then started to write and create his own interpretations, finding his stage name, Bad Bunny, after he was forced to wear a bunny costume against his will. In 2013, he began to release music via SoundCloud and his song “Diles” caught the attention of DJ Luian, who signed him to his label, Hear This Music.

In 2018, Bad Bunny landed his major breakthrough with his feature on Cardi B’s No. 1 single “I Like It” alongside J Balvin. After releasing his first studio album, X 100pre, that year, he dropped his second record, YHLQMDLG in 2020, which became the highest-charting all-Spanish album of all time. That same year, he appeared as a guest performer at Super Bowl LIV alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez and became Spotify’s most streamed artist globally. He has since released three more studio albums: Las Que No Iban a Salir, El Último Tour del Mando and Un Verano Sin. Bad Bunny has also received numerous prestigious awards including three Grammys.

The singer, who defines his sexuality as “fluid,” began dating Gabriela Berlingeri in 2017 but they called it quits in late 2022. In February 2023, he was first linked to Kendall Jenner after the two were photographed in Beverly Hills. The following month, his ex Carliz Hernández filed a $40 million lawsuit against the “La Jumpa“ rapper for unauthorized usage of her voice during various recordings.
