George Stephanopoulos
George Stephanopoulos is ABC News’ go-to guy for politics and policy. Prior to joining ABC News in 1997, he was the senior advisor to President Bill Clinton for policy and strategy. Now, Stephanopoulos is an anchor on ABC’s Good Morning America, serving as their chief political correspondent. He is known for being a part of This Week‘s award-winning “On the Trail” series. In this series, he interviewed every major Republican and Democratic presidential candidate during the 2008 election cycle. Since the start of the Obama administration, Stephanopoulos spoke with many key members, such as President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and UN Ambassador Susan Rice. Stephanopoulos also made history when he conducted a joint interview with Supreme Court justices Sandra Day O’Connor and Stephen Breyer in july 2003, making it the first ever Sunday morning interview with two sitting Supreme Court Justices.
Stephanopoulos is the author of the No. 1 New York Times bestseller All Too Human. He is married to Alexandra Wentworth and they have two daughters, Elliott and Harper.
