There for each other! Amanda Seyfried shared her words of wisdom with Claire Holt when the Originals actress admitted to feeling “self-doubt” as a new mom.
“This was me yesterday after struggling through a tough feed,” the Pretty Little Liars alum, 30, captioned her Monday, April 8, Instagram selfie with her son. “Exhausted, in pain, feeling defeated. I’ve had many moments like this since my son arrived. My only concern is making sure his needs are met, yet I often feel that I’m falling short. Motherhood is an overwhelming combination of bliss and self-doubt.”
She added: “I try to remind myself that I can’t be perfect. I can’t be everything for everyone. I just have to do my best and take it one hour at a time. Thankfully, this little guy is worth every second of struggle. Mamas out there — tell me I’m not alone??”
In the honest shot, Holt’s son slept on her shoulder while she looked at the camera with tears in her eyes.
While many celebrities chimed in with their support from Vampire Diaries costar Phoebe Tonkin to Sopranos alum Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Seyfried, 33, shared practical advice as well.
“I gave myself two days off in the first week so I wouldn’t be scared and sad every time she woke up to feed,” the Mamma Mia! actress commented. “And it helped so much. No guilt. Just pump and bottle. And then did both throughout. Less pressure. You’re not alone.”
Seyfried shares her 2-year-old daughter, Nina, with her husband, Thomas Sadoski.
Holt became a first-time mom in March when she welcomed James with her husband, Andrew Joblon, after suffering a miscarriage. “Everything they say is true,” she captioned her Instagram reveal at the time. “There is no love like it.”
